  • We had the most wonderful stay with Ron and Glenis! They are a couple who show a genuine interest in their visitors - in the end it felt more like we were visiting friends! The room is quite cosy, but very comfortable and the bathroom newly renovated. Each morning we had a very generous breakfast, and in the evening we shared a wine and a chat with our hosts! Ron and Glenis kindly let us borrow their bikes (and even drove us to the start of the bike path), something we definitely recommend doing if you have the time. The location of the house is quite rural but still only takes about 20 minutes to drive to Cluny. We definitely recommend this place to all airbnb users!

  • Cannot say enough good things about our stay. Glenis and Ron were wonderful host. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and a glass or even may be two of wine at night. Peace and seclusion is almost a perfect caption, but more emphasis on the really great location in the Burgundy region should also be included. Close to many wonderful towns, wine regions, tourist sights and so much more. We could not have picked a nicer place to spend 4 days discovering the area. It was also very hot on our trip and the pool was a welcome refresher after long days of activities.

  • A week-end in Burgundy !

Glenis and Ron are very hospitable people. They are living in a typical and quiet Burgundy's village. They'll prepare you a very nice and unforgettable breakfast …
We recommend to stay 2/3 days at least to immerse yourself and visit Cluny, Cormatin, St-Ythaire, etc.

We'll be happy to come again !

  • Very charming and welcoming hosts, Ron and Glenis received us in their house from where we visited the surroundings in Burgundy that we love définitely more and more. Our hosts have been helpfull and we really enjoyed the two evenings spent together. Good food, good wine and a lot of humour.
The bedroom is simple but confortable and really quiet in a very small village. Peace and seclusion, in fact !

  • What can be said about our fantastic, hospitable hosts, Glenis and Ron?

From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly welcomed and at home. The private room was a delight, with fresh sheets, bottled water, coffee, and even a towel warmer in the private bathroom.

We opted for the home-cooked meal that Glenis offers for just €20 per person, and were stuff to pieces with delicious snacks to start, and a three course meal complete with wine Ron had picked out for us.

Our advice? Explore, explore, explore. Leave the GPS at home and rely on the many maps Glenis and Ron have at the house. Our motto for the trip, "JUST KEEP GOING."

    Merci beaucoup, Glenis et Ron!

  • Pros:
Glenis and Ron were very friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. We really enjoyed our stay in their house as well as meeting them. The breakfast was great. The room and bathrooms are very nice, in fact they seemed even nicer than on the pictures. The bathroom is newly renovated and quite elegant. The room contained everything we could have hoped for (bath robes, towels, shampoo, hair drier, mirror, extra blankets, ...), including cookies and all you need to make tea and coffee.

Despite two heaters on full power (which Glenis and Ron had turned on for us as soon as we confirmed our visit 2 days prior to arrival!) the room was quite cold. I presume the stone walls are just too thick to heat in a reasonable amount of time? In any case, if you come in winter, be prepared for cold nights. For the friendly welcome, great stay and in anticipation of what it must be like in summer, we gave 5 stars.

  • We were on a trip to the west coast and decided to stay overnight at Glenis place. After an exhausting trip with heavy rain and some traffic jams we finally made it to this secret and well-hidden place (with a fair delay). We received a very warm welcome, the accommodation was very lovely, very clean, simply spoken: Everything was perfect! All in all we had a really nice evening with them and were happy that we could stay there. The next time I travel across France there is absolutely no question about where to stay. I would even make a detour ... ;-)

  • We weren't expecting this since we only stopped in Saint Ythaire for
one night as a break in our drive between the south of France and
Paris - but it is an incredibly charming little village and Glenis &
    Ron were great hosts!

Based on their advice we had a great dinner in the neighbouring town of Cluny. We were then up at the crack of dawn the next day to
wander the countryside before the next leg of our drive.

The room was nice with our own separate entry off the garden. Tea and
coffee were provided in the room which was a lovely perk. The WIFI
connection was a bit weak but we didn't care because the landscape was so beautiful it was all we wanted to see. We also decided this place
had the best shower of our trip - a nice big rain shower head!
Breakfast was offered up on the open terrace of Glenis & Ron's home -
with all the food and coffee you could possibly need. We enjoyed a
great conversation with them and had a really lovely time even though
it was so short. We would love to go back sometime - the landscape is
truly sublime and their company spot on as B&B hosts.

  • Glynis and Ron made our already brilliant airbnb experience move to a whole new level!!

Extremely well organised, caring and going out of their way to assist us to find Vaux (right next to St Ythaire), their great English hospitality, great white, red and sparkling wine collection and Ron"s "Best of British" conversational style made our first experience with Burgundy one that will be unforgettable!

These two Brits are definately a great gain for beautiful Burgundy!

A beautifully decorated and furnished room with a beautiful top class bathroom (en-suite) in the middle of what can only be called heaven on earth.

There is a reason why reference to places like Burgundy has become a cliche.

The reason is mostly because some places are just exeptional.

I wish I can share what we experienced with Glynis & Ron and their exquisite and authentic home in the most pastoral of mega-pastoral settings with each one of my friends and children!!

    Maybe one day.

Unforgettable - will move heaven and earth to be back one day.....

Thanks for a life highlight Ron & Glynis!
