Wake up surrounded by nature in the Minnesota northwoods! Classic log cabin constructed in 1940 with modernized renovation in 2017 means vintage charm with new interior and appliances. Located on beautiful northwest Lake Vermilion: Walk down the hill to fish from the dock or watch the stars come out over the water. Easy drive from Cook on paved roads. We look forward to hosting you and Matt will stop in to say hi during the first day or two of your stay.

The space
Large sunny deck, brand new kitchen, original stone fireplace, spacious living room, 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, yard, dock and fire ring. First bedroom has a king bed and double futon. Second bedroom has two twin beds. The third bedroom, which is accessed through a door in the first bedroom, has one twin bed and a desk.

Wilderness to explore! Your perfect location for fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, bird-watching, kayaking, canoeing, sunbathing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, reading, relaxing, writing, art-making, s’mores, exploring nature, romantic getaway, family fun or quiet retreat!

PLEASE READ ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE BOOKING:

Stairs up to the bedrooms are very steep. (Please bring a baby gate if booking with small children.)

Parking available for two cars only, near the main entrance under the canoe. Please contact us if you require additional parking for cars or a boat trailer. Please do not park in or block the neighbor’s driveway. Local barge company lifts docks for the winter starting October 1, and after this date guests bringing a boat should not tie up to the dock, but trailer the boat when not in use.

These basics are provided for each stay: dish soap, one roll of paper towels, garbage bags, disinfecting wipes and two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. Bottled water provided free of charge.

The kitchen has everything you need for basic cooking. Along with a coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave and others listed under the amenities section.

We provide a few basic things (as outlined above), but please consider bringing your own coffee, paper towels, beach towels, boat bumpers, life jackets, etc. Please bring your own bathroom toiletries, soap, shampoo, etc.

This is a rural area and Wi-Fi and cell service can be intermittent.

There is NO laundry onsite. There is NO service connected to the television.

Bring your own firewood or buy from the wood box on site. No pine in the fireplace: please burn hard wood only. Please use caution when using the fireplace.

No parties! We want you to have a good time, but please do not throw parties with excessive noise or activity that will cause damages. We love this cabin and ask that you treat it well and have fun respectfully. We WILL keep the security deposit for any damages or excessive messes. Thank you!

Please flush paper only. Flushing wipes, tampons, diapers, etc WILL cause embarrassing and damaging clogs in the water system. Security deposits will be collected for damage to the system. Thanks for your help!

No smoking inside. (Please pick up cigarette butts.)

Please acknowledge that guests must climb steep stairs and there is a camera on the front door.
