A private room offering a luxurious, peaceful and safe haven for one non smoking adult in a beautiful, shared Fitzrovia flat in an unbeatable central London location. We have a three night minimum stay requirement & the room is for one guest only.

The Apartment

The apartment is located on the second floor of a Regency Mansion block within a historical conservation area of London's West End.

Your bedroom houses a fabulous, hand made, UK king size bed (US Queen) with luxury 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding and the best quality mattress for a wonderful nights sleep. Guest dressing gown, slippers and plenty of fluffy towels are provided along with a selection of luxury toiletries.

You will be sharing the space with my daughter, a professional woman in her forties. She is warm and friendly and very knowledgeable about London and so will happily offer you guidance and recommendations. You will have your privacy respected but she will also be available to chat if you fancy some social interaction.

The property has been refurbished to a truly five star standard with a brand new designer kitchen, luxury pure wool carpets throughout and exquisite, functional designer furniture.

The apartment has all new appliances such as microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, single oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer and a Vita mix. Free high speed Wi Fi and a small DVD library is (website hidden) Apple chargers for IPhone 4, IPad 2 and Macbook Pro laptops are also provided as well as a brand new, powerful hairdryer.

The bathroom, whilst compact, provides both a bath tub and a shower facility.

This accommodation is only suitable for a maximum of one adult guest and is not designed for parties or entertaining. It is a non smoking, no pet property. There is no elevator and there are four short flights of stairs up to the property from the communal entrance.

The Neighborhood

This newly refurbished, luxury apartment couldn't be better located for London's West End shopping, theatres, restaurants and art galleries. W1 is London's most central West End post-code with everything you could wish for just a few moments walk away. With Oxford Street, Regent Street, Soho, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and London’s theatre district just round the corner, your private room in this exceptional property is perfectly situated for you to get the most out of your London stay.

Have all the creature comforts and safety of home sharing this quiet, five star apartment whilst enjoying everything London life has to offer on your door step. With the iconic BT Tower as your local landmark you will never get lost finding your way home from anywhere in central London. At the end of the road to the right is Oxford Street, shopping heaven, and to the left is the beautiful Regents Park. A better, more central and accessible London location is hard to imagine.

The apartment is situated on a quiet, one way, residential street running parallel to Great Portland Street with its wonderful eclectic mix of cafes, bars and restaurants. Oxford Circus is just five minutes walk away. For those who like to keep active there are numerous gyms and yoga studios just round the corner. Even Lord's Cricket Ground is within walking distance. This peaceful residential oasis sits right in the heart of everything London has to offer, yet remains wonderfully free from unwanted noise and late night revelers when you want to relax and sleep after a hard days work or sightseeing.

Getting around


The apartment is so well located that you can walk to most of London's main attractions. If you find yourself getting weary simply jump into a London Black cab, hop onto a double decker bus or take the London Underground to explore further afield.

All the London Underground lines (known as The Tube) are easily accessible, with both Oxford Circus, Great Portland Street and Goodge Street Tube Stations located a few minutes walk from the flat. If you fancy overground travel, buses to the whole of the rest of London are available on Oxford Street, just at the end of the road. The mainline London railway stations of Euston and Kings Cross are a couple of stops on the Tube away or a few minutes in a cab. If you are traveling from Heathrow Airport you can take the Paddington Express into central London and be at the flat in less than thirty minutes.

The apartment is located in Fitzrovia, in the heart of London’s West End. Once home to writers such as Virginia Woolf and George Bernard Shaw and more recently Lady Gaga, Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Numerous media companies and the headquarters of the BBC are based in the area, hence its vibrant, celebrity filled buzz.

Oxford Street (five minutes walk away) is the mecca of shopping in London. There are hundreds of stores running from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road with the most expensive found on New Bond Street, South Molton Street, Saville Row and Conduit Street.

A hive of entertainment, London’s West End offers theatre, music, comedy bars and restaurants. Take a wander down Wardour Street, Dean Street, Shaftesbury Avenue and the Haymarket to experience the centre of nightlife in London.

Shoppers will also enjoy the Covent Garden markets and boutiques in Soho and Carnaby Street. For some true British style head to Liberty of London (about ten minutes walk from the flat), full of beautifully-designed goods housed in its original Tudor building. On Regent Street, you'll find Hamleys, which claims to have been the finest toy shop in the world for the last 250 years.

Westminster describes the area around the Palace of Westminster (also known as the Houses of Parliament) and is home to many of London’s prestigious monuments and attractions. Enjoy the Royal Parks; St James's Park, Green Park & Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, the home of the Queen and St James's Palace, situated in Pall Mall.

Attractions within walking distance of the flat include Buckingham Palace, The British Museum, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Soho, Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, The British Museum, Somerset House, the Royal Parks and Regents Park.

  • I had a really good time at Laura's and Mary's place. It has a perfect location. The room was really quiet. Tesco Express is just a two minute walk. The street has may cafés and pubs. All in all, thank you for hosting me I had a really good time I defintely recommend it to future Airbnb travellers.

  • I stayed at this beautiful apartment that is conveniently located in the center of London for more than 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. Laura, Mary's daughter, is a very accommodating host and gave helpful suggestions concerning Yoga studios, restaurants, and grocery stores. The apartment is of walking distance to various tourist attractions and close to all local amenities, yet far enough from all the noise. The modern kitchen iss well equipped and space was provided for me to store all my groceries. I highly recommend this comfortable and peaceful apartment and will definitely come back here during my next visit to London!

  • Spent the pre-Christmas days in 2013 in this lovely flat. All communications were excellent in advance of our stay. The flat is in a perfect location as others have stated. We walked to shopping on Oxford Street, plays in the West End, the British Museum, Churchill War Rooms and many many great restaurants within a short radius. Just down the street is a great pub called the Crown and Scepter and another block further is a terrific breakfast/brunch joint called the Riding House Café.

    Bedroom is functional, though has no closet for hanging nicer clothes. The bed is very very comfortable. We are picky, but slept well every night. Kitchen is modern with new appliances that all work well. We cooked breakfast most mornings and even a nice dinner one night. Cutlery is wanting, but otherwise everything you need is there. Living room is huge, especially considering the location in central London.

    Street is quiet, though it is near some busy popular streets. Very safe neighborhood too.

    When we come back, we wont look for another place. This is it.

  • I cannot recommend this property any higher. Mary was excellent with all communication and went out of her way to make sure that my wife and I had an easy arrival in London from Australia.

    The flat is in a fabulous part of London, it is well kept and has all the amenities that you might need for a short or even longer stay.

    My wife and I will definitely be using this apartment again when we are next in London.

  • Recently my wife and I spent a few days in London. We thought about staying at a hotel but decided to instead rent the flat owned by Mary. We were curious if the flat would turn out as advertised. It did! It is a wonderful flat in a great location in London's West End. We walked everywhere. Had many meals at local restaurants (recommended by Mary) and bought groceries at a store one block away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are truly appreciative of Mary's willingness to help us any way she could.

  • We stayed eleven nights at Mary's property. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere, and I especially liked walking to/from West End shows. Getting to Canary Wharf was easy, with a quick walk to Bond Street tube station to catch the Jubilee Line. The flat is very well-equipped, the wireless worked well, the shower had strong pressure and ample hot water, and the bedroom (with a great mattress) is especially quiet as it is away from the street. The living room has wonderful daylight, and the couches are ample and very comfortable. There is a stand of Barclay's rental bikes across the street - we didn't use them, but others may wish to do. Tesco is very convenient, I had a hair blowdry nearby at Toni & Guy's on Great Portland Street, and I eyed what looked like legitimate Thai massage places (to combat jetlag!) on the way to the Goodge Street tube station (but didn't get a chance to try one).
    Best of all, however, is that Mary is a very responsive host. We received prompt and thorough responses, from our initial request request to various other inquiries.
    We would strongly recommend Mary's flat, with the only caveat being that care should be taken on the stairs. The steps seemed short to me, and there is plastic covering on them.

  • My husband and I stayed at Mary's flat for a week in early June. We were met and everything was explained well and we were given recommendations for food shopping and dining. The flat is extremely comfortable and the write-up is accurate. It is very comfortable especially the living room (which is also very spacious) and the bed.

    We would recommend the Italian restaurant Bellaria on the corner of Foley Street and the Bonnie Gull just a little way along Foley Street.

    We would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Staying at Mary's place is like staying at my own home. Mary attends to every detail and her place is the ideal location for any traveler coming to Central London. I travel to London every month and have plenty of choices, but I always would choose here before any other.
