Interaction with Guests
I work from home so I'm available to guests to answer any questions and provide help, if you want it.
I love this neighbourhood for it's local attractions within easy walking distance, and accessibility to CBD. To get to the CBD or out west, you can choose the bus or train, both are very close.
The bus is stop is a 1 min walk, train station 5 mins' with 5 stops to the city centre.
There are three café/ restaurants within 3-4 mins' walk, and several about 10 minutes' walk away. Or walk to Kingsland, abundant with cafes and pubs (25 mins). There's also a Saturday produce market with great fresh fruit and breads. There are beautiful parks and walkways in every direction, even a local mountain! A local lake and a beach are both within cycling or walking distance. So if you just want a day 'at home' there's plenty to interest you in the neighbourhood.
Apart from walking, there are three transport options: car, of course, if you have one! Otherwise trains or buses, which regularly take you into the CBD or to other parts of Auckland, and bicycle - it's an easy (fairly flat)cycle into the city along a separate cycle track.
Other Things to Note
I offer a pick-up and drop off service to the airport (small fee) or to the local airport bus (free).
There are more than a hundred books and movies available for your use.
Daisy is a small three year old cat who likes guests. Sometimes guests who are not used to cats are frightened. This baffles her as she is gentle and a bit timid herself. If you are anxious about cats please discuss before booking.
No smokers please.
Please note this home has a friendly cat.
I am a researcher/educator and acoustic musician, and I work from home. I want your stay in Auckland to be relaxed and memorable, so I try to help out in lots of little ways. e.g. sometimes I might be able to pick you up from the airport, make a meal, give you maps and tips about good places to eat, interesting places to go. Just ask! The place is full of books and movies, and is quiet for sleeping, if you just want to recharge your batteries.
I enjoy traveling and meeting other travelers. So far I've been to several European and Central/South American countries, the US and Australia (even got to Iceland once!).
I'm not much of a foodie, but am deeply addicted to good books and good movies. I also like dancing, walking and cycling - there's a bike here you can borrow if you'd like.
