La campagne aux portes de Paris. Tout est conforme au descriptif. Location spacieuse et très calme. Julie est très sympa. Je n'ai malheureusement pas pu profiter de l'environnement extérieur car le temps ne le permettait pas. A renouveler!
Très très bien et toujours rien à dire sur ces hôtes d'exception
Un espace privatif et agréable, aucun problème
Julie and Cyril offered exactly what we needed... a convenient, peaceful and clean place to sleep nearby to where we were working long days. We were four people and slept comfortably. Everything was uncomplicated and Julie was welcoming and kind.
Verry good. Her house is cool and cosy. I recomend strongly.
I had such a wonderful time staying with Julie. The room was clean and quiet and cosy and she was a very attentive host. Highly recommend. I was studying in Etampes and the journey took me just 35 minutes door-to-door.
My parents and I enjoyed our stay with Julie. On the first and last day, she picked us up from the railway station and drove us back which was helpful. The station is 15 minutes from the house, but note that at the end of a long day, it can seem like a very long walk (there is also not much light on the street leading to the house).
The house itself is cosy and nice. Julie gave us our privacy, but was also happy to give us information / talk to us whenever we needed.
If you are looking for a stay in the French countryside, the house is a very nice place to stop-over. All in all a good experience.
Our stay with Julie was wonderful, we loved having our own space (with a kitchen too) to relax. The house was on gorgeous farmland and right next to an equestrian club. We enjoyed the company of the pets heaps, especially the pony Gustave! Julie was a lovely host, providing us with everything we needed, giving us nice tips on what to do, lending us bikes to ride and picking us up at the train station very late at night in a pouring rainstorm. Thanks Julie!
To make a long story short, we were so disappointed with the quality of the accomodation, that we decided to leave after a few moments: the house is very damp and has a permanent dog/animal smell (things that one can't obviously deduct from the pictures on the airbnb website). The rented space can perhaps accomodate 3 persons max, but certainly not the 5 guests of our group. We went to a nearby hotel in the next 30 minutes (I can present the bills), after leaving a note and sending an e-mail to Julie. She replied by saying that she was very surprised of our decision, but since then has not reacted, which I find very disappointing. It is generally not my intention to leave bad reviews, but in this case, I feel I really need to warn other users.
my response : read the 47 others good review and you will undestand by yourself.
2 more things :
- The dog is only on my private floor, she never go to your floor. But if you want to see her you are welcome on my part.
- the rented space is for 4 person, but if you ask me I add a matress for one more person , just for help you.
What a wonderful place. You've got the top story of a nice little farmhouse. Our hosts were always friendly and helped us with anything we asked for. The pony was also very friendly and, we discovered, quite fond of carrots. If you try to give crackers to the sheep you might need to be a little clever, as the pony likes crackers too.... The dog, Grey, was very nice, but he is a big guy. We like dogs ourselves, and we all got along great with the animals. Julie and Cyril were great hosts. Julie was very friendly, and took our unplanned late arrival in stride. She was helpful with anything we needed. We stayed for a week intending to see Paris, climb at Fontainebleau, and see Versailles. It's about 40 minutes to the rocks of(website hidden) We wanted to see Paris at night, so we got a last-minute hotel booking when we knew the weather would be good, which worked out great. We did the 15 minute walk to the train station and took the train to the Eiffel tower. Beware: the train station counter was closed when we arrived after noon, we didn't have enough cash for all of our tickets, and the machine only takes cash and chip&pin-type credit cards. Luckily we had a friend from France with us with a French credit card- he had to buy our tickets! FYI rates are up a bit from this listing, something like 7.30 EUR one-way. If you want to be in Paris every day of your trip, the commute will eat up time. The house does have some quirks, but is functional. It is a farmhouse, and there is a beam across the center of the living area- I'm 5'10 and did bump my head a few times. I think 5'6 would walk right under it. There are dishes for at least 4, the mini-fridge was decently sized and kept things cold, but I'd never try and keep ice cream in one. We actually cooked on the little stove, which takes a little time to heat up, but will get very hot and worked great for cooking eggs and lardons (diced bacon) for breakfast. You'll need to hand-wash the dishes between uses, of course. The main bed was fine for the two of us, and the bedroom with the door closed has some privacy. If you are a party of 4, the second bed is obviously in the shared area. Everything is, however, very private from the main house. One piece of advice: make sure you are sure of the address, especially if you plan to forget the phone number, get stuck in Paris traffic, and arrive after dark... A nearby road has a name that is very similar to their actual street name, and you might end up about 6 blocks away, fumbling through your printed directions and trying to figure out where you went wrong... Still, we had a great stay and would definitely do it...
