Cozy log cabin with a great view
Perfect for fishing trips, picking berries, skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. A nice place if you just want to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the nature around you, see the midnight sun in the summer or the Northern Lights in the winter.

The space
The cabin is perfect as a starting point for fishing, berry picking, skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer. Hiking trail to Øretoppen (great view 465 mh) runs right by the cottage and it is walking distance down to the fjord. It's also a nice place if you just want to relax and enjoy the silence with the nature around you. A suitable place if you want to experience the midnight sun reflected in the sea in summer or the Northern Lights in dark autumn evenings/in winter.

Location about 24 km/30 min by car from Kirkenes. Nearest grocery store is on Hesseng 20 km from the cabin.

The cabin is a wilderness cabin of simple standard yet comfortable.
It has a fireplace, fireplace, electricity, outdoor toilet, but no running water. The kitchen has oven, stove, fridge, freezer (in summer), kettle and coffee machine. We can arrange for a starting supply of drinking water. In summer, washing water can be collected in a river about 150 meters away along the road and in winter snow can be melted.

In one bedroom, the bunk beds are angled and two are slightly shorter than usual; best suited for someone under 1.60.

It's almost all the way up. In summer, there is a partly steep path about 75 meters from the road up to the cabin. In winter, when the snow has settled, you mostly need skis or troughs to get to the cabin. Here you can walk a slightly less steep path and over a small crack - about 300 meters. Headlight is useful in autumn and winter. You have to count on snowmobiling in the winter.

The cleaning fee is only for checking/preparing the cabin and washing linen/towels. Please leave the cabin as clean and tidy as you did when you arrived. Washing equipment, vacuum cleaner, etc. are available at the cabin.

It's okay to be aware that the family usually uses the cabin when it's not rented out, so it's not an ordinary rental cabin, but a private cabin in normal use. So we appreciate you treating it with care and love. And then we hope you really take the time to both enjoy the tranquility and peace of the cabin and explore everything the great South Varngar has to offer of nature, history and experiences!

In the winter when the snow has settled, you most likely will need skis or snowshoes to get to the cabin. Here you can walk a slightly less steep path and over a small hill - about 300 meters.
At wintertime you should bring warm clothes and good winter boots. Head light is also useful because it can be very dark outside. Snow shoveling must be expected during stays in the winter time.
