Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This is not just a simple town house. Three stories up, tucked away on top of Galway's skyline and seconds from one of the most vibrant and magical parts of the city you will find the ZenDen. A unique, self catering location that is sure to impress.

The space
This is a truly unique location.

The ZenDen is situated on the top floor of a three storey complex that sits on Galway’s skyline.

It also has it’s own roof terrace with seating area which comes to life in the spring and summer months.

As for location, it does not get more central. In less than a ten second walk from my door, you will have reached Quay street, the most lively and vibrant area of Galway also known as the latin Quarter.

In our opinion this is the most vibrant and magical part of the city and the ZenDen is like a hidden Utopia in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.

Your room will have a standard double bed available.

All pillows and duvets are filled with duck and down and with very comfortable mattress.

The beds are as comfortable as possible so I am sure you will have a beautiful nights rest.

We want people to feel like they are in a home away from home, so please do make yourself feel at home.

Guest access
The kitchen and living/dining room are exclusively for Airbnb guests. There is a fridge and oven etc at your disposal. Please use any condiments, tea, coffee, spices, butter that you can get your hands on. All the appliances are at your disposal, which there are many and growing.

Other things to note
Parking, Parking, Parking.

Hynes Yard on Merchants road is the closest and most reasonable parking complex.

The Hynes Yard car park is only about a 5 min walk away and if you pre-book online you can get a 5 day parking pass (come and go as often as you like) for €25 which is a lot cheaper than paying for individual days.

Alternatively:
My favourite option is to park outside the city limits. If you go over the Wolfe Tone bridge, which is very close to my home and follow the Fr Griffin Road out towards Salthill, once you see the parking signs cease it is safe to park. You could be looking at a 15-20 minute walk back to mine. Galway is a very safe city so your vehicle should be safe over night.

Another option is too park at the cathedral which is around a 10 minute walk from ours. It is €4 for the day and free after 6.30 which really makes it €4 for 24hrs and free on Sunday. You have to re-issue your ticket every day so the best option is to do that either after 6.30pm or before 9am the next day.

Another handy tip is if you arrive after 5.30pm parking is free on the street however come 9am you must pay. If you happen to arrive on a Saturday then you don't have to worry about your car in the morning because Sunday is free so you can park right outside my home, if you can find parking that is.

Location

Galway City, Galway, Ireland

The house is situated seconds from the most lively and vibrant part of Galway a has a very unique feel. Seconds after leaving the ground entrance door you will be immersed by the lively energy that is Galway. There are a vast array of restaurants on you doorstep, not to mention the pubs. The river walk beside the spanish arch is only down the street also.

A short walk down Quay Street brings you to my favourite area the Spanish Arch and the fast flowing waters of the river Corrib.

This area is the real heart of this magical city and I am sure on arrival you will agree.

My name is Dara and my wonderful partner's name is Kirsty. We have also recently had a new born enter into our world named Jack. Galway is my home town and very close to my heart. I actually met the love of my life (Kirsty) whilst walking up the Main Street (Shop Street) in Galway. Kirsty was a street performer (Hula Hoop Extraordinaire). Like many a young soul, we fell in love in the mist of Galway's magic. I grew up in a Guest House in the middle of the city. I was always around people growing up and I can honestly say that one of my favourite things is meeting amazing new souls. In my early twenties I travelled to India for a number of months and attended a ten day silent meditation course named Vipassana. I had what one might call a spiritual awakening after day 9 and slowly the madness that was the world started to make more sense. Since then I have continued my journey of self exploration and what an exciting and challenging journey that has been. To date we are in the mist of building a expedition vehicle/tiny house on the back of a truck and getting ready for a very different and exciting world. "Be the change you want to see" (Gandhi)
