Great location in the heart of Little Italy. Fantastic Italian restaurants and pastry shops right outside your door. Walking distance to Beacon Hill, downtown Boston, Faneuil Hall and other revolutionary war sites. The Freedom Trail, the North Church and Paul Revere's house are just around the corner. Less than 1 block to the Green and Orange subway line (T) stops at Haymarket (2 minutes). If you are going or coming from Logan airport you can get off at the Aquarium T stop and walk to my apartment (7 minutes).
The apartment is spacious, it has a large living room and kitchen, good sized bedroom and 1 bathroom. There is a microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, tea kettle and full size fridge in the kitchen. I provide fresh linens and towels as well as closet space and drawers. Bedroom has flatscreen tv with HD cable channels, DVR/DVD player and window air conditioning unit in the summer. The apartment has very fast wireless internet access.
I've written up a list of secret spots in the neighborhood called "A Perfect Day in the North End." Want to know where to get the perfect cappuccino at 7am? How about a fresh piping hot sfogliatelle (Italian breakfast pastry)? You will feel like you've lived here for years when you find these spots. I can also recommend bike paths, breweries (Been to the Sam Adams plant?), bars etc based on your desired itinerary.
I would like your stay to be as comfortable as possible. In the past, I've gotten things like slippers, a hairdryer (now in the apartment) or a coffee grinder (also now there). One guest requested a specific roast of coffee (French). and I was happy to oblige. My only rule is that you don't smoke in the apartment. Also no pets. I have had great experience meeting new people on Airbnb and I look forward to meeting new guests. Pay it forward!
I booked this place for my mother, who had a lovely time. Owen was prompt and very friendly, and the apartment was exactly as listed. Great location and price.
The host is excellent to work with, and made me feel welcome. The location is just excellent for North End, close to all the nice spots, but a nice distance away from the commotion for a good night sleep. The linens and towel were clean, and the bed very comfortable.
However, the dust and the clutter was something that I did not like. I hope the owner takes that aspect seriously to make the stay for the guests even better.
Owen made us feel very welcome and was available to us at all times. The apt was clean, warm, and spacious. the location is perfect if you are new to Boston and doing the tourist thing. Two blocks to the T station.
The apartment was clean and well appointed. Owen included recommendations for local shops and restaurants. While near two fairly busy roadways the apartment itself was quiet. Owen was quickly responsive to any questions or issues I had. Many fine restaurants and bars are walkable. The train is very close by. There were never a shortage of Uber cars nearby.
Owen was easy to contact when need be, and filled the apartment with useful info on the area. The North End is a lovely part of Boston, easily accessible and full of interesting places, many of which Owen knew very well! The apartment itself is wonderful and quirky, with lots of fun decor.
Really nice place to stay in Boston and so great location. It's a shame we just came on a one day trip but I'll definitely recommend Owen's apartment. Great collection of books. We haven't had the chance to meet with Owen but he has been very welcoming and made our stay super easy.
Owen was a great host. He offered suggestions for transportation to his place, and was very responsive to any questions that I had. His place was nice and clean, and he even left a list of places to eat at in the neighborhood. Clean towels were left on the bed, along with soaps and shampoo, and he even left freshly ground coffee for me on the kitchen counter.
