La Rochelle is a wonderful city, and Ingrid's home is ideally situated, just a short walk through a park to the splendid waterfront. Ingrid was very gracious and tended to every detail. Our three adult children especially loved the living room, with it's ambient lighting and decorative charm. We thought the city would be in winter sleep-mode, but we learned that there were street fairs, sidewalk cafes, and lots of families enjoying the spectacular and historic waterfront. Truly, we could not have been more pleased, and only wished we had more time to spend in this lovely community.
Where do I start? Cool yet cozy house, fantastic kitchen, or wonderful back garden? We had a great stay at Ingrid's and although we never did meet in person, we spoke by phone a few times and I found Ingrid clearly attentive and organised, not to mention generous and friendly. All the information we needed about the house and la Rochelle awaited us on the kitchen table and vine tomatoes and pots of herbs in the garden (so good!); Ingrid also offered the use of all condiments in the fridge and cupboards that we might need. Ingrid's eclectic decorative taste is fun and thoughtful, and the house is spotless. The house is easy to find, quietly removed from the center of town, an easy drive but we chose to walk the pleasant 15-20 walk, even though we could have used the bikes, in fine working order, had we wanted to. The garden is great, complete with a swing set for kids and kid-adults, a table and lots of seating, and to top everything off, two sweet and well-behaved kitties live back there Kangoo kitty, I miss you! Our great visit in la Rochelle really was enhanced by our stay at Ingrid's.
Ingrid and Fred are lovely helpful people, house and beds very welcoming. A great boulangerie 5 mins walk away.
It was a fantastic holiday @ the house.Ingrid is very lovely and we felt like coming home.Merci Beaucoup.Wonderful
Thank you, Ingrid, for perfect family vacation! The house is very nice and super equiped. The garden is very cozy, we enjoyed freshly picked tomatoes. Two hammocks, bicycles and three lovely cats were at our disposal. The house has a lot of interesting books and magazines, board games (we are delighted with the triomino) and children's literature. Five minutes by bike to the two large parks (inside one of them a beautiful mini-zoo with stunning Poitou donkey). Magnificent city center with lots of restaurants and shops just outside the park. Ten minutes by car and you are on the Ile de RE - with amazing beaches, Michelin restaurants and oyster farms. Perfect place to stay with friends or family!
Ingrid's place is great – super spacious, beautiful and comfortable. We (two couples) had a really nice stay here with our dog. The garden's great. The immediate neighbourhood is not amazing, but it's a reasonable walk to the beach, the lovely centre of town and the amazing market.
Ingrid is a great host and the house is perfect.
Walking distance to the city and the beach, 3 floors, a large loft-like living room, a nice sunny garden to barbecue in and so. much. french. food. around.
Thanks for a great weekend Ingrid!
I spent 2 nights at Ingrid's place and had a wonderfull time chilling in the garden.
It's a bit outside of the city center but it's only 5min by bus to get there.
The street is calm and the neighbors easy going.
The fridge was full of food for breakfast and everything was as explained.
I had the pleasure to meet Ingrid and she's a lovely person.
I'll probably go back there next time I visit La Rochelle or maybe I'll stay in the apartment that Ingrid rents in the city center.
Ingrid is a perfect host. The house is spacious and clean, she really welcomed us in the best way possible, very flexible on our strange schedule, and open to make changes at the last minute. Wonderfull balance price/quality
