Interaction with Guests
We try to be here when guests arrive and depart but if not possible, we make arrangements for them to let themselves in to the guest space and to check out easily ... for the most part, we give our guests their own private space and are here if they have any questions or needs ...
We are in a 'working-class' neighborhood, with some businesses alongside single/multi-family homes .. our street can be busy but the location of the guest room affords a good amount of peace and quiet ... free on-street parking, usually right in front of our home and a friendly, safe neighborhood where folks walk to and from downtown a lot...
we are a 20-min walk to the center of Salem, and we are on a bus route that picks up passengers right down the street ... taxi service is affordable and quickly accessed, or guests can drive to downtown in about 5 min.
no smoking, we want non-smokers please!! ... small pet/s possible, if very well behaved ... negotiable
Great space- more like your own apartment as you have a separate entrance onto the street. Coffee machine, cereals, muffins and fruit were provided so it includes breakfast! Host was super helpful and friendly. Would return if in the area again!
Beautiful spot, so well setup and looked after. Will definitely be returning next trip to Boston!
This was our first Air BnB experience and Julie made us feel welcome and cared for from the very beginning. The place was nicely arranged and clean with all the convenience of home. She filled the full size fridge with lots of goodies. Her many acts of kindness and all the extras saved us time, money and effort. The location was good with a great ice cream place one block away!
Julie's place is a cozy and well-equipped basement space. It has a small kitchenette area with complimentary breakfast goodies, coffee, and tea. The space is comfortable and clean. Her house is conveniently located close to downtown Salem. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying with Julie!
We stayed at Julie's for 5 nights in June. It is a lovely space and had everything we needed. Julie and Woody were friendly, generous and helpful. We were able to come and go without disturbing anyone which was great. It's on a busy road and a mile and a half hike from the touristy area but you can get a taxi for $6 so if you don't have a car it's still pretty easy to get around. If you need a lot of natural light it's probably not your first choice as there is only one small window and a door to the street but there is plenty of lighting and lots of little lights that create a cozy effect. It was very clean and comfortable and was perfect for our needs.
The basement apartment was gorgeous and peaceful. A wonderful experience for our first Airbnb stay. Private and clean and well worth the price and location to so many historical locations, we could have used another few days just to begin our tour into Boston, but maybe that will be on our next stay.
Julie was a gracious host. Her space is cozy and comfortable in a charming neighborhood. We'd come back and stay with her anytime :)
