we are a 20-min walk to the center of Salem, and we are on a bus route that picks up passengers right down the street ... taxi service is affordable and quickly accessed, or guests can drive to downtown in about 5 min.
no smoking, we want non-smokers please!! ... small pet/s possible, if very well behaved ... negotiable
We stayed at Julie's for 5 nights in June. It is a lovely space and had everything we needed. Julie and Woody were friendly, generous and helpful. We were able to come and go without disturbing anyone which was great. It's on a busy road and a mile and a half hike from the touristy area but you can get a taxi for $6 so if you don't have a car it's still pretty easy to get around. If you need a lot of natural light it's probably not your first choice as there is only one small window and a door to the street but there is plenty of lighting and lots of little lights that create a cozy effect. It was very clean and comfortable and was perfect for our needs.
The basement apartment was gorgeous and peaceful. A wonderful experience for our first Airbnb stay. Private and clean and well worth the price and location to so many historical locations, we could have used another few days just to begin our tour into Boston, but maybe that will be on our next stay.
Julie beautiful home in Historic Salem was great! She made time to meet us, gave us pointers on things to do around the area and made sure we had all we needed to be as comfy as can be...all in all it was fantastic to stay at her home and definitely recommend it to anyone.
As on my first visit last year everything about my stay was first rate. Julie communicates promptly and clearly, is very helpful, and just a nice person to deal with.
Julie was such a great host! We arrived later in the evening and she made sure to welcome us and see if we needed anything. Julie also checked in on us on our second day in Salem to make sure that we had everything that we needed and see if we were enjoying our stay. The room was great for my boyfriend and I, cozy and clean and had everything that we needed for the weekend. Eventhough the street that the house is on is a busy street, it was quiet in the house which was perfect. They're in a great location to walk to downtown Salem which takes about 20 minutes. If we're even in Salem again we'll definitely try to stay with Julie!
What a wonderful stay we enjoyed in Julie's home this past weekend! This was our very first experience with Air B&B...Julie has certainly set the bar high for our future experiences! From the initial communication, Julie was prompt, warm, and welcoming. She provided clear instructions and was flexible with our arrival time, as we were not sure if we would be caught in traffic prior to our arrival time. As far as the accommodation itself, Julie and her husband, Woody, have really thought of everything as far as making guests comfortable. The downstairs space (with a private entrance) is even lovelier than the photos, the brand new queen sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and the en suite bathroom and little kitchenette area (equipped with full fridge, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, snacks, and breakfast items) made everything extra convenient. The space is VERY quiet with very little noise from the street, which made it possible for us to sleep in a bit on Sunday morning...I wasn't expecting this from such a central location, but it really was quiet! In addition to the queen bed, there is a small pull out love seat, which Julie made up for my sister to stay over one night, which made our stay even more convenient. Julie checked in with us throughout our stay via email, asking if we needed anything and just to let us know that she was available if we had any questions...this was really nice. The location of Julie & Woody's home is very conveniently located near Salem, Peabody, Wenham, and a very short drive to the commuter rail or ferry to get to Boston. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again on our next trip into the Boston area! We would highly recommend this accommodation to others traveling to the Salem area. Thank you so much, Julie & Woody!
It was such a pleasure to have you both in our home! and I'm thrilled that your sister got to stay with you and glad that she slept comfortably as well ... thanks so much for the lovely bath salts, I will definitely try them out very soon! We look forward to having you return ...
