a cozy room, street/basement level in private home with separate entrance, private bath with shower, refrigerator, microwave, coffee/tea maker.. double bed, but can accomodate a third person if necessary on a small pull-out couch .. on a main road, one mile from downtown Salem, train station, on bus route... features many restaurants in close proximity.. walk to downtown Salem where Peabody Essex Museum is located along with Derby/Pickering Wharfs, Salem Maritime Center, Witch Museum and much more...many shops along the way. Salem is a coastal town, located near many area beaches ... in summer, enjoy free concerts at The Willows Park right on the ocean and in August, a 2-day free Soul & Jazz Festival with incredible musicians from all over the globe in our little city ...
we now have 'wireless'!
and we've just added an air conditioner for the room ...
We have upgraded to a queen-size bed, instead of the double bed .. a bit more room to stretch out on!
We stayed at Julie's place while in the area for my Dad who is staying at Spaulding Hospital. Julie was great even though our plans weren't certain - she was totally flexible, and we really appreciated that! It's in an easily accessible location and you might think it's going to be busy being on such a busy street, but it wasn't - it was delightful! Easy parking and access to this basement suite! An efficiency plus, with a bathroom with a nice shower, a super comfortable bed, another loveseat/bed for us to use ... along with a full refrig, and stocked kitchen area with all sorts of treats! Thanks Julie!
An excellent first experience with airbnb! Julie and Woody were fabulous hosts and their listing was true to the listing.
This was our second time staying at Julie's place. When we found we needed to be in Salem for a funeral we were pleased that Julie's place was available. The "room" is more like a small efficiency - with a Keurig, hot pot for tea, frig, microwave, toaster and private bath. It is centrally located to the sites of Salem and surrounding communities including Peabody and Marblehead. Parking is on the street but has never been a problem. Julie is a great hostess - the room is spotless, the bed comfortable and she leaves goodies including an assortment of teas, fruit, munchies. We hope to return to the Salem area later this year and would definitely stay at Julie's again!
Great apartment with very easy access. We had a wonderful stay and Julie was very accommodating.
This was our second stay with Julie and it was wonderful again! She is very welcoming and accommodating. Her place is so cozy and homey. We will be staying there again!
Julie was a very friendly and helpful hostess. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Best of all, she is a local music legend and I got to hear her sing and play guitar with her great band in Salem. what a treat!
Julie is a wonderful and thoughtful host. She made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We are glad we have shared our first airbnb experience here. I would absolutely recommend and would return as well !
The room was private, comfortable, and very clean. The bed was firm, but soft. Julie thought of everything. From the tourist pamphlets to the Hershey's kisses on the pillows.
Julie herself is what I was hoping to find in an Airbnb host. A kind, genuine human being. We truly felt at home here. Skimming through the guest book, I found entries from guests over the years who agreed.
I was sad to say goodbye to another Halloween in Salem, but glad I found such a wonderful place to stay on future visits. This place was the perfect introduction to Airbnb!
Julie's space is a perfect and cozy nook - very clean and comfortable. She is also very accommodating and kind so overall, our stay was wonderful. The only complaint I have is that we couldn't stay longer! :) Thanks again, Julie.
Stayed at Julie's place for one night. She was very easy to communicate with before I came and gave very clear informations about how to get there etc.
very nice place, super clean, lots of food for breakfast in fridge and a very generous supply of munchies. A 20 min walk to downtown Salem was very convenient. Even though the house is right by a major road thru Salem it was totally quiet at night. Great mattress!
I took a cab back to Logan for $40 with Tricity Taxi. Still cheaper than a hotel at Logan airport!
Overall this was a very nice experience,I can fully recommend Julie's hospitality!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
