This is a popular two bedroom villa here at Mae Nai Gardens, the highest rated boutique resort in Mae Rim according to a leading trip advising website. Be assured of a warm welcome!
Two bedroom Thai style villa overlooking a pond. Set within a small exclusive private resort 30 minutes drive north of Chiang Mai. If you love the countryside you will love this place, so close to nature, and with its own beautifully landscaped gardens and palm-fringed saline swimming pool.
The villa has two bedrooms, both with ensuite shower rooms. One has a queen sized bed, the other, two single beds. There is a small lounge with TV and DVD player, plus a small but well-equipped kitchen. There are ceiling mounted fans thoughout and spacious terraces for relaxation. Wi fi included.
Local activities include biking, hiking, off-road vehicle driving. There are elephant camps and outdoor activity centres close by. Massage and spa treatments can be arranged on
or off site.
We provide breakfast and can arrange for other meals with prior notice. Bikes available for local trips, but you will need transport for trips to town. This again is easy to arrange.
Thai cooking classes are also available on site.

Be assured of a warm welcome at Mae Nai Gardens. All our guests want to stay longer and tell us we are great hosts. Why don't you find out for yourselves!
No smoking indoors.
Ian and P'Pop are amazing host! they always be there for you and help you with anything and will do anything to make you feel like home. P'Pop even took us out for dinner , recommended good places to go and cool places for lunch. Also helped us plan the trip around Chiang Mai.
The villa is like a paradise , it's clean and comfortable and very well maintained garden and all those beautiful trees and flowers around. We stayed in two bed rooms villas and both rooms are en suit - Ian and P'Pop also provides lovely breakfast at their place every morning with choices of egg , toast , fruit and jams and lovely English tea or coffee. It's like staying in a 5 stars hotel :) The villa's pool is really good size for swimmer to do lapse or just relaxing by the pool on the hot day. Will definitely recommend anyone who wants to visit Chiang mai and spend their holidays on a high standard!
We had a rocky start to our holiday while traveling in Vietnam with most of our party becoming ill. The next leg of our journey saw us in Thailand with a stay at Jomtiem beach over New year which was loud and busy. Our arrival at Mae Nai Gardens, Chaing Mai was literally a breath of fresh air for all of us.
The beauty of the gardens, the character & comfort of our accommodation and our pleasant hosts saw us relax and enjoy ourselves just as a holiday should be.
Thanks Pop & Ian for a truly memorable break.
We will be back!
Ian' s place is a dream. Small houses nested in a lush park, in the middle of a stunning countryside. The pool is gorgeous, the accommodation is not luxurious but very comfortable and welcoming. We had a 2-room cottage with a terrace, a living room, and a small kitchen where you can cook. Ian offers breakfast in the morning in his beautiful, modern house. There is art everywhere, and Ian is a charming host - he can suggest tours and dining places around. The place is a bit far from Chiang Mai - but you could do daily trips to explore the city - but it's a fabulous base to explore the mountains and country side around the city. This is a must go place.
Highly recommended. It was a lovely stay in a lovely house located in a lovely place with a lot of activities to find. The hosts acted perfectly - from the very beginning of our journey, when we made a booking, till the very last goodbye.
Just spend a week at Mae Nai Garden…and now I’m facing a huge dilemma…should I keep this little paradise a secret and share it only with my closest friends…but it would be really unfair for Ian and Pop as they are both FANTASTIC hosts, taking care of their guests almost like member of their family with equal respect for their privacy…a precious and rare balance. I can only recommend this quiet place for the Beautiful garden, pool, housing and hope they will keep their “not too much people at the same time” policy…but I’m pretty sure they will.

Hi my name is Ian, I am a retired English teacher with homes in both Scotland and Thailand.
We really enjoy having Airbnb guests staying with us. So far they have all been great and have really appreciated our small, exclusive resort in the countryside just outside Chiang Mai.
I think what most guests like are the personal touches that we provide. We can help them find the best places to visit, often off the regular tourist trail. Also, we know all the best places to eat, whether it be Thai food or western cuisine. And sometimes a visit will coincide with a party or celebration which they are usually welcome to join, so they get to meet some of the locals, both Thai and ex-pats.
We speak both English and Thai, and can get by in French, so it is usually easy to fix anything for our guests, whether it be massage or spa treatment; medical issues; or trips, car hire or onward travel. We have very good links with the local community.
The most common response we get is that guests wish they'd booked for a longer stay!
Update: we now offer cooking classes onsite which avoid a journey to town and which are specifically catered to meet your particular preferences.
Massage is also now available onsite.
