Interaction with Guests

I will be in the house most of the time during the guests stay and will be available to offer assistance when required. I can offer transport to Galway/ Athenry if arranged in advance.

The Neighborhood

Monivea is a quaint village and is known for its sizable forest,Monivea Castle and a well-preserved mausoleum. The Mausoleum and castle were built by the Ffrench family, one of the "Tribes of Galway" .There are two small grocery shops, a petrol station, four pubs, a Garda station, a post office, a church in Ryehill, and Monivea National School. The Monivea Village Market is held every Saturday in Cooke's Yard from 10am until 3pm. 5 minutes away in Athenry, You can find a large shopping centre, restaurants, taxi service, butchers, chemists, pubs etc. This town is very accessible to many destinations in Ireland as mentioned already with trains running frequently to Dublin, Galway and Limerick and buses to Galway also. In athenry the Athenry Heritage Centre is also well worth a visit, see information here: (URL HIDDEN) The award winning Athenry Heritage Centre is the ideal starting point to discover the best preserved medieval town in Ireland.

Getting Around

Monivea has a bus service directly from the door of my house to Galway city however this service is not as frequent as the services available from Athenry which include trains and buses to Galway. I am available to offer transport to Athenry and Galway when required and an arrangement is made in advance. Athenry also has trains running to Dublin and Limerick and therefore my house is very accessible to all towns along these route. For more information on train service please see (URL HIDDEN) For information on bus service from Athenry see (URL HIDDEN)
