Guests have access to a large bedroom, and shared bathroom. You are most welcome to use the kitchen cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer etc. You may also use the washing machine and dry your clothes in the garden. Free high speed wifi and, self-service continental breakfast included.
Interaction with Guests
We love to chat with our guests and make everybody welcome. If guests are tired after travelling and simply wish to sleep or relax, we happily give them space.
My neighbourhood is great because it's near town and the RDS, in a residential area, near the embassy belt. The bus stop near our home serves three major routes, 46A, 39A and 145. The buses come every few minutes and cost €2.55 to get to the city centre journey is 10 minutes). You can go directly to the zoo, into town, Dun Laoghaire, Heuston train station, or Wicklow from here. We are 20 minutes walk from DART train station. We are 15 mins from St Vincent's hospital, 2 mins from RTE TV and radio station and approx. 12 minutes walking distance from two of Dublin's well-known, popular pubs - the Merrion Inn with a beer garden and delicious reasonably priced food; and the famous Donnybrook rugby pub, Kiely's. These pubs are where the local Irish neighbours like to drink. We are very near the excellent park, Herbert Park in Ballsbridge which the children will love and we are also near the beach.
Yes, buses come by every couple of minutes for the city centre. If you are feeling energetic you can walk - I often do!The bus for the airport comes every 15 - 20 minutes and operates through the night.
Other Things to Note
Guests can have a kitchen shelf and a shelf in the fridge for themselves.
As it's a small family home, we ask that you are quiet after 11pm. Strictly no check-in after 11.30pm unless your flight is unexpectedly delayed. If you smoke, you are welcome to smoke in the garden only. Thank you.
Marisa is a lovely host who knows lots about both Ireland and Northern Ireland --- staying with her was a great first stop on a trip around the island as she can give you some great 'insider scoops'!
Marisa was an incredible host. This was our first experience with Airbnb, and she made it perfect. Great breakfasts, and her advice was so appreciated. She gave us great ideas for places to check out, and the best pubs around. Marisa made it feel like we had a very authentic experience and went over and above what any of us expected. Thanks a million, Marisa!
Where do I start? Marisa was an amazing host, who not only saved us when all other accommodation was booked up, but ended up taking us on an impromptu tour! She couldn't do enough for us, made us feel like we were staying with an old friend, and would be welcome to mine at any time. It was lovely to have her son with us for part of the time, who had us laughing the whole time :)
Marisa was our first airbnb experience and was extremely helpful and kind. She went out of her way to make us feel more than at home and had a lively room set up for us upon arrival! Was an amazing host and would recommend to anyone :) thanks for a eat stay Marisa
Our stay with Marisa was beyond what we expected-it was fantastic! She was excellent at communicating with me before we arrived in Dublin, she took our bags home for us, our room was clean and homey, we had a lovely hot brekkie and she drove us to a suburb along the coast of Dublin. We had a great time chatting with Marisa as she is a very friendly and caring person! We would definitely come back to Marisa's place in the future!
Thanks so much for the beautiful review. Unlike many airbnb hosts, I do not charge a cleaning fee. All I ask is that guests please wash their own dishes, or at least offer anyway. Apart from this little misunderstanding, Damiano and his lovely girlfriend were wonderful hosts. Thank you kindly.
Marissa was a very nice and very helpful host. We spent a quiet and very confortable night in a lovely bedroom and had a wonderful full Irish breakfast! Marissa even gave us great advices about typical pubs and places to visit. She succeded to make us look forward to coming back to Ireland again.
We deeply recommend you this place if you are looking for a place to stay in Dublin.
About the Host, Marisa
We are a small family living beside University College Dublin. It is a great area, near everything. Very quiet and peaceful. If you want to know about Ireland, please talk to me. I have lived in Dublin all my life but know Ireland very well, especially Clare, Galway, Mayo, Wicklow and Northern Ireland. Everybody in my family loves Irish history and we are very well-travelled ourselves. Any questions you have, just ask! The most important thing to me as an airbnb host is that you feel welcome and enjoy my country :)
