Nice, safe, exclusive area, 30 min walk city or 10 min on bus. Aircoach leaves from Dublin airport every 15 min and drops near my apartment. Journey takes approx. 40 min. We are within walking distance of sea, nice pubs, restaurants, and Tesco.
Our home is quiet and peaceful in an old building. In the room there is a comfortable double bed and a single bed. One child under 6 may stay for free if sharing parents' bed.
Also black out curtains for a perfect sleep. Easy to walk everywhere so you don't need a car. However I do have free, secure parking if you wish. We are beside the university with nice walks and a lake. Great for jogging.
Guests have access to a large bedroom, and shared bathroom. You are most welcome to use the kitchen cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer etc. You may also use the washing machine and dry your clothes in the garden. Free high speed wifi and, self-service continental breakfast included.
Interaction with Guests
We love to chat with our guests and make everybody welcome. If guests are tired after travelling and simply wish to sleep or relax, we happily give them space.
My neighbourhood is great because it's near town and the RDS, in a residential area, near the embassy belt. The bus stop near our home serves three major routes, 46A, 39A and 145. The buses come every few minutes. You can go directly to the zoo, into town, Dun Laoghaire, Heuston train station, or Wicklow from here. We are 20 minutes walk from DART train station. We are 15 mins from St Vincent's hospital, 2 mins from RTE TV and radio station and approx. 12 minutes walking distance from two of Dublin's well-known, popular pubs - the Merrion Inn with a beer garden and delicious reasonably priced food; and the famous Donnybrook rugby pub, Kiely's. These pubs are where the local Irish neighbours like to drink. We are very near the excellent park, Herbert Park in Ballsbridge which the children will love and we are also near the beach.
Yes, buses come by every couple of minutes for the city centre. If you are feeling energetic you can walk - I often do!The bus for the airport comes every 15 minutes and operates through the night. It costs 8 euro one way and 14 euro for a return ticket.
Other Things to Note
Guests will have a kitchen shelf and a shelf in the fridge for themselves.
As it's a family home, we ask that you are quiet after 11pm. If you smoke, you are welcome to smoke in the garden only. Thank you.
I think it's safe to say that this was my best Airbnb experience to date! Marisa was an exceptionally kind and thoughtful host who went above and beyond what we expected! She took us for a scenic drive on Easter Sunday, enabling us to see countryside places that we wouldn't have been able to reach without a car. Her breakfasts were delicious, and she was generous enough to provide us with tea, cookies, and sandwiches when we arrived. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The apartment is an easy 15- 20 minute bus ride from the city center. She is very interesting to talk to as well, and is overall a very special person and host!
Marisa was amazingly welcoming, and clearly she truly enjoys having guests! We had a wonderful visit, and she helped to recommend places for us to visit as we were headed to the west of Ireland. Her home is wonderfully located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, very close to University College Dublin and just 10 minutes by bus or taxi from downtown. Our room was cozy, clean, warm and quiet. And Marisa left us a great spread for breakfast in the morning. We really genuinely enjoyed the opportunity to meet Marisa and her son, and to stay in her home.
This place was amazing! Our host Marisa was super considerate, helpful and gracious-- she gave us breakfast, packed us lunch, drove us into town, took us around the country for the day! She really made our time in Dublin great. Could not recommend her place more!
Marisa was a great host! I got there a few hours before my friends so we just talked for a few hours, she made me feel very welcome. When my friends eventually arrived, she gave us recommendations for how to get into the city and how to get there (it isn't far by bus). Since she had time off, she was able to drive us into the country to show us more of Ireland than just Dublin. I cannot recommend Marisa highly enough. She was a fantastic host and anyone taking a trip to Dublin should take a look at her listing.
Marisa was very friendly and helpful and the room was nice, bed comfortable. We had a nice prebed sandwich as offered and a good breakfast. Good value and friendly. Thanks, Marisa.
It's very clean n warm house. Marisa is nice and helpful. We liked the breakfast she arranged and care shown towards us. The area is very secure and highly recommend this accommodation.
This was by far an incredible stay. Our host was incredably kind, caring and helpful she went above and to make us feel at home and help us out during our stay. The room was very comfy and clean, extras things such as a hair dryer and a straightner. There were cookies and snacks waiting for us when we got to the apartment. It was over all an amazing experience! Thanks Marisa!!
We are a small family living beside University College Dublin. It is a great area, near everything. Very quiet and peaceful. If you want to know about Ireland, please talk to me. I have lived in Dublin all my life but know Ireland very well, especially Clare, Galway, Mayo, Wicklow and Northern Ireland. Everybody in my family loves Irish history and we are very well-travelled ourselves. Any questions you have, just ask! The most important thing to me as an airbnb host is that you feel welcome and enjoy my country :)
