I stayed one night in Roelof's apartment before going on a camping tour. It was like staying with a good friend. He was easy to communicate with and did everything to accommodate to my plans and itinery. He was a great host making sure my stay was very comfortable. He even made me breakfast very early in the morning. Nice chats as well! And Joe's Beerhouse and cute shoppin are around the corner. Short and safe walk from the apartment. Thanx Roelof!

Roelof was a courteous and friendly host. He made my stay comfortable and offered information about Windhoek. It was also really nice to be so close to Joe's Beer House. Thanks!!

Eva, was travelling so not able to leave an official review, it was a pleasure to have you as a guest even do I barely noticed you, always going on expedition around town. Enjoy your Africa trip and be assured that you will always be welcome back here in Windhoek.

I stayed two nights in Roelof's home on my way in and out of Namibia. It is easy to find and I felt perfectly safe. Roelof is generous with food and wine and even loaned me his sleeping bag. He is also willing to act as your taxi when available.

If you're visiting Namibia, you must stay with Roelof. He went above and beyond to be not only an accommodating host, but a good friend. He helped me get acclimated by accompanying me to a local grocery store to prep for my camping trip, and we discussed the country, our personal experiences, and tips for the road over dinner. After 30+ hours of travel, arriving frazzled and by myself in a country very different than my own, this was invaluable in preparing me for the journey ahead. He is very trusting and friendly. After returning to Windhoek from my trip around the country, I stayed with Roelof two more nights, chatting about my experience and just about every other topic under the sun. He was even kind enough to have prepared coffee and a light breakfast in the mornings, and to offer some dinner the night I returned (exhausted) from two weeks of camping. The private room features a great morning view of nearby mountains, and the gated, enclosed community in which his apartment lies is walking distance to a cafe, grocery story, cell phone shop, gas station, and a few other things; and it is walkable to the main street (Independence Ave.) downtown. Enjoy the view from the balcony with a beer or coffee, reading, and catching a nice breeze. Long story short: if you're passing through Windhoek, Roelof's your man.

When travelling I prefer to stay with real people, it is a better way to get to know the country you visit than a hotel that is the same anywhere in the world.
I sing in two choirs, a church choir and with the Windhoek men's choir, lots of fun, not only the singing but also the socialising, so yes, I don't need a TV, too many things to do.
