This is a spacious light-filled 3 bedroom 2 bathroom 1000 sq feet apartment in Weehawken, NJ. It is 10 min bus ride to Midtown near Times Square via the Lincoln Tunnel. As surprising as it may seem, this place is closer to Manhattan than other places located in Upper Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx.
Our apartment is 2 blocks away from the first bus stop after boarding from Port Authority Bus terminal in Manhattan. (Read further down for more details about transportation)
The Master bedroom is very spacious, bright and quiet. The room has a queen size bed, feather pillows and a cozy feather duvet. There's also a large closet and your own private bathroom. Plenty of space for a third person if they don't mind sleeping on the sofa (in this room) or on a roll away cot.
The second and third bedroom share the second full bath. One bedroom has a king size bed, the other has a queen bed. Both bedrooms are spacious with large closets.
You don't have to bring bed linens, towels or a hair dryer, we will provide you with fluffy clean towels and all you need to feel comfortable and at home!
The house is equipped with central heat and air conditioning. High speed wireless internet, and other convenient things like iron, city guides, maps, etc. are provided.
Feel free to message me if you need any further details.
* Minimum stay 3 nights
Many ask about the price and extra fees and how to pay. When you put in the dates and number of people you will get our total cost. There are no taxes on top of this, but AirBnB adds their fee. It varies between 6-12% on top of our price.
All the payments are safely made with credit card to AirBnB when booking. They hold the money until the day you check in and will then transfer it to us.
Bookings with us are done with the "strict" cancellation policy and all cancellations should be done through AirBnB. This being said, if we manage to re-rent the place the nights you have canceled we can give a bigger refund to you than what the strict cancellation policy dictates. The earlier you cancel the bigger the chance that we will find other guests.
DEPOSIT is for keys and will be refunded by AirBnb once keys are returned.
Please note that 11am check out strictly enforced - we must be here to collect your keys to ensure prompt return of your deposit money.
* Your own keys
* Kitchen access (please be careful washing and re-shelving anything you used)
* living room, dining table
* reading material, maps, umbrellas
Interaction with Guests
I do not live in the apartment. I like to come by the morning after guests arrive to answer all questions and to make sure everything is in order. After that I keep in contact with guests via WhatsApp or other applications (Email or phone), so we can be in contact at all times. I am only a few blocks away and can be there in 10 minutes if need be.
This area is super diverse quiet neighborhood with a Walking Score of 91. You won't be bothered or have to worry about walking by yourself from bus. It's very family oriented and the people are super friendly. Make sure you take a walk 10 min north to Hamilton Park to see the incredible skyline view.
About Transportation: I have received many questions from people who don't believe it possible to be outside of Manhattan and so close to it, yet it's true. Here are some facts about transportation:
1. Apartment is 3 minutes (2 blocks) from the bus stop.
2. The bus is very frequent, I rarely wait for it more than 2 to 3 minutes. Most of the time you won't even wait at all. You will step to the bus stop and a bus will be there.
3. Buses are available 24/7 so you can catch them even when you spend the whole evening out.
4. The price of these express buses is $3 per trip.
5. You won't find these buses timetable or route on the internet, it's a private bus company that runs many lines in and out of Manhattan
If you want to take the pokey ol' slow bus, look up NJ Transit (phone number hidden), etc. Tons of buses go by here.
Other Things to Note
This building, and many of the buildings on the street have exterior surveillance cameras.
You will have your own set of keys so that you can come and go as needed.
To confirm that you have read the entire description, please include the secret word "cosmopolitan" in your inquiry to me.
All guests, including babies, toddlers and children must be included in guest count.
House slippers inside please!
No smoking at all, very strict.
No pets, please don't ask for exceptions. I'll make a fur coat of of them.
House check-out is 11am latest. We can help you coordinate luggage storage in the city if your flight is later in the day. We don't have any space where luggage storage is possible.
My 20 year old daughter and I were fortunate to stay in Maria and Jay's apartment for two weeks on our recent New York holiday and we can't recommend the apartment highly enough. Before we arrived Maria provided useful information, which gave us confidence navigating our way to the apartment on the very convenient shuttle bus, which we used every day. In two weeks, no matter the time of day, we never waited more than three minutes for a bus, either to or from the city. In the two weeks we shared the apartment with two different couples. We rarely saw them so sharing the common areas was never an issue. It was great to exchange travel tips with like minded travellers when we did cross paths. Our room was spacious with a private ensuite. The apartment was well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge/dining. Wifi was reliable and fast. We appreciated toiletries, tea & coffee, provisions for breakfast and the use of umbrellas. The local corner store (a few houses away) was very convenient. Maria and Jay were very friendly and went out of their way to assist us while we were there. They were generous with their time and their local knowledge. Weehawken is a lovely suburb. We felt safe walking around at all times. The apartment really felt like home and if I get the chance to visit NYC again, I will return to Weehawken. Thanks Maria and Jay.
The stay was fantastic. Maria was very prompt in replying any queries.she has already prepared the folder containing how to go to Manhattan and come bc from Manhattan,which groceries to shop and location,luggage storage info and many more.apartment was very convenient stay for (website hidden) was super clean and all the kitchen utensils available for use.thanks Maria darling even though we didn't meet this time
Quartier calme.
A recommander vivement!
Just an amazing place to be, quiet, proper and nearly (10 min) to uptown! Thank you for your service! We've enjoyed our time in New York and also in Weehawken. We met also interesting people who spent their time in the flat:-)

The room is just like pictured. It's in a decent size, there were 3 of us and we never felt overwhelmed. This room has it's own private shower, and the instant hot water is a hug plus for me (who doesn't love a hot shower after a day worth of walking, right?).
The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and it's super close to downtown Manhattan. There's a white shuttle service which runs every few minutes, which is VERY convenient.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Maria in person. However, she always managed to reply my text/answer thephone call, and provided much needed services.
I'd recommend Maria's place to anyone I know.
We arrived late afternoon of Thanksgiving and Maria though busy elsewhere kept in touch till I confirmed to her we had logged on to the wifi in the apartment. The apartment is truly a stone throw from the City, clean and well kept. I was thrilled on arrival and enjoyed my stay all through. I will surely call back when next I visit NYC and will recommend Maria's apartment to friends and anyone who is particular about where he/she stays. I would rather stay here than most hotels that have stars attached to them. Keep it up.

We have a number of listings, so look for me online at superhostnyc. Each of our listings has very easy access into Times Square - we are big advocates of our local bus service which we call the "chicken bus". Buses run every 5 min, 24/7 to Times Square. Take a look at our guest reviews to see what travelers say about getting in and out of NYC. We are not agents, my husband, Jay and I take care of guests full time!
We are Canadians living in the US, and are well traveled ourselves and know how important a good nights sleep is while you're away.
We will make sure that you are comfortable here.
