This is a spacious light-filled 3 bedroom 2 bathroom 1200 sq feet apartment in Weehawken, NJ. It is 10 min bus ride to Midtown near Times Square via the Lincoln Tunnel. As surprising as it may seem, this place is closer to Manhattan than other places located in Upper Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx.
Our apartment is 2 blocks away from the first bus stop after boarding from Port Authority Bus terminal in Manhattan. (Read further down for more details about transportation)
We provide breakfast food items so you can prepare something to eat before you leave for the day! Specifically coffee, tea, cereal, toast and preserves are provided.
The Master bedroom is very spacious, bright and quiet. The room has a queen size bed, feather pillows and a cozy feather duvet. There's also a large closet and your own private bathroom. Plenty of space for a third person if they don't mind sleeping on the sofa (in this room) or on a roll away cot.
You don't have to bring bed linens, towels or a hair dryer, we will provide you with fluffy clean towels and all you need to feel comfortable and at home!
The house is equipped with central heat and air conditioning. High speed wireless internet, and other convenient things like iron, city guides, maps, etc. are provided.
Feel free to message me if you need any further details.
* Minimum stay 3 nights
Many ask about the price and extra fees and how to pay. When you put in the dates and number of people you will get our total cost. There are no taxes or cleaning fees on top of this, but AirBnB adds their fee. It varies between 6-12% on top of our price.
All the payments are safely made with credit card to AirBnB when booking. They hold the money until the day you check in and will then transfer it to us.
Bookings with us are done with the "strict" cancellation policy and all cancellations should be done through AirBnB. This being said, if we manage to re-rent the place the nights you have canceled we can give a bigger refund to you than what the strict cancellation policy dictates. The earlier you cancel the bigger the chance that we will find other guests.
DEPOSIT is for keys and will be refunded by AirBnb once keys are returned.
To confirm that you have read the entire description, please include the secret word "cosmopolitan" in your inquiry to me.
Please note that 11am check out strictly enforced - we must be here to collect your keys to ensure prompt return of your deposit money.
You can use our kitchen to prepare simple meals. Fast, strong and reliable wifi throughout apartment.
Guests can use our computer

This area is super diverse quiet neighborhood with a Walking Score of 91. You won't be bothered or have to worry about walking by yourself from bus. It's very family oriented and the people are super friendly. Make sure you take a walk 10 min north to Hamilton Park to see the incredible skyline view.
About Transportation: I have received many questions from people who don't believe it possible to be outside of Manhattan and so close to it, yet it's true. Here are some facts about transportation:
1. Apartment is 3 minutes (2 blocks) from the bus stop.
2. The bus is very frequent, I rarely wait for it more than 2 to 3 minutes. Most of the time you won't even wait at all. You will step to the bus stop and a bus will be there.
3. Buses are available 24/7 so you can catch them even when you spend the whole evening out.
4. The price of these express buses is $3 per trip.
5. You won't find these buses timetable or route on the internet, it's a private bus company that runs many lines in and out of Manhattan
If you want to take the pokey ol' slow bus, look up NJ Transit (phone number hidden), etc. Tons of buses go by here.
You will have your own set of keys so that you can come and go as needed.

We had a great, stressfree and relaxing stay at maria and jay's! it's really close to manhattan and the ride with the "chicken bus" a great fun. it also allows to have a look around new jersey.
the room with bathroom is very large and comfortable. there's always some nice stuff for
breakfast in the kitchen and maria and jay are always happy to offer advice or recommend something. thanks a lot!
Sorry for replying late! Maria and her husband were really great and helped us a lot! Maria gave us a lot of travel suggestions which were really helpful. Thanks again and I will definitely choose living in Maria's place again!
This was a great stay. Very generous with their time sharing with us their favorite places in town and giving us tips on how to get around. It made the difference in our trip. The room was clean, spacious, and fitting for our stay. I highly recommend these lovely people and their lovely home.
Wouahhhh !!! New York is a great city, yes ! But what a pleasure to be able to enjoy it in a so Nice and Beautiful place than Maria and Jay House.
Maria is a SuperHost and now, I understand Why ! Many many thanks to Maria and Jay for their great Hospitality, Kindness and advises. It is so cool to live like New yorkers do.
Do not hesitate a minute to get to Maria and Jay House you won't regret it I assure you ; )
I had a hotel stay with a friend fall through, and I couldn't be more glad! I've used Airbnb several times, but this was my favourite stay thus far... I felt as though I was staying at a friend's home! The place was clean and cozy, my bed was lovely, breakfast foods were plentiful (and Maria even made me her famous oatmeal one morning), tea was offered to be made when Maria heard me cough or struggle with my voice from a terrible cold - all round a welcome respite from my busy schedule and long days of running around Manhattan. What other guests have said is true, it's nothing to get there from the Port Authority - the "chicken bus" is so constant that I never had to wait for it... Was able to get back and forth from Weehawken to Manhattan in a snap. I really could go on and on, but I'll end it like this - Maria and Jay were absolutely excellent hosts. I will most certainly stay there again.
I have stayed at airbnbs all over the world but Maria's home is my favourite---clean, comfortable accomodation, great food, friendly and helpful hosts filled with useful information, and a superb location so close to Manhattan but in a quiet, safe location! The 'chicken buses' really do run 24hrs and are fast, fun, and cheap---some days I would leave the house and 10 minutes later would be on 8th Ave and 42nd Street! I will always stay at Maria's when visiting NYC--if there is a room available!
The stay at Maria and Jay's place couldn't had been better. Very spacious room with comfy bed, and the bathroom had everything we needed. Every morning we started the day in this cute apartment with a delicious breakfast prepared by Maria.
Apart from all this, they provided us with very useful information about NY and were always willing to help. We highly recommend their place, you won't regret it!
We had a wonderful stay at Maria and Jay 's house. Everything was really clean when we arrived and Maria gave us plenty of pointer so we could be ready to explore the city. The bus stop is literally 2 min. by foot. You are in times square in less than 10 min.
We will be back for sure.

Our stay with Maria and Jay was truly amazing. The apartment is just adorable and suuuuper clean, the space we had was great for the 4 of us and we had our own bathroom which was really good. They had cereals, coffee and stuff available to make breakfast and they even made coffee for us. They were very sweet and really made us feel like we were at home. They explained how to move in the city and gave us tips of the best places to visit. The bus that takes you to Manhattan pass 2 blocks from the apartment and you'll be in front of the New York times building in less than 10 minutes (2 blocks from the Times Square). Everything was just so convenient! I highly recommend stay with Maria and Jay =)
Séjour inoubliable à New York. Maria et Jay sont des hôtes très attentionnés et adorables.
On se souviendra longtemps du "Dino-BBQ"!!
Pour sûr, on transmet l'adresse à nos amis et à notre famille!!
