Quiet peaceful location, no loud noise or music. Extra fee per load of laundry.
We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks. Everything about our stay was PERFECT. Pam and her husband were wonderful, it was great to have laundry right on site, the neighborhood is quiet and uphill so it was cool in the evenings, and the room was very private and comfortable. We can't for our next trip to Hawaii and hope to stay here again!
It was great that Pam came out to greet us, even though we arrived pretty late. The room was spotlessly clean, well-decorated, very comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet, tucked into a tropical setting. Yummy muffins were there for our breakfast, as well as some papaya. Great bed and bathroom. Pam was helpful in making suggestions for restaurants. Overall the experience was perfect!
The reservation was canceled 75 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Pam's apartment was exactly as listed and shown in the pictures. It was clean and she left us some papaya boats and banana bread and water to welcome us - which was delicious! We stayed at Pam's in the month of October and the weather was perfect. The room has a ceiling fan that was more that sufficient to keep us comfortable while we slept. The additional benefits that Pam offers - beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, etc. - were also extremely helpful. We really appreciated it. Pam also has a book on the Big Island that is very helpful to plan your stay there. I would recommend this place!
The neighborhood is lovely. The cottage very comfortable and clean. The bed very good, and the shower too! Unfortunately, Pam was out of town so we only got one breakfast, and it is a bnb. The coffee maker was up too high but the little fridge cam in handy. The hurricane was far away enough to only cause rain - which was not so bad. We decided to leave a few days early because the rest of the trip was on the other side of the island and I didn't want to drive it back and forth. Pam mentioned adding a kitchenette which would be better.
I think we would return if there was a small kitchen.
Pam was an awesome host and we felt welcomed and cared for. Her spot is really well located. Out of the fray and close enough to everything that was important to us. You need a car. Beautiful beaches, great food, and most important good coffee. We mostly stayed out chilling and exploring but the room itself, although basic was exactly what we needed and expected. There is a full bath and a strong shower. So good. We loved our stay. We had good conversation and connection. There is a laundry room & gorgeousness all around. Thank you Pam.
Staying with Pam was great. Her cottage is lovely, clean and bright, well equipped, and with the sound of her fountain, birds, and tree frogs at night (ok, non-native, but still lovely for us New Englanders to hear). Pam is a font of good advice of what to do, where to eat and shop, and clearly cares about her guests. location is close to kona, but up the mountain towards the cloud forest where it is cool and uncrowded. We wish we could have stayed longer.
My husband and I were raised in the Hawaiian Islands and have a wealth of knowledge about Hawaii and the Big Island. We are available should you need any information or inside scoop! The cottage is separate from the main house but close enough should you need anything. We look forward to having you enjoy the tropics!
