The Space

Kona Cottage is a darling separate small cottage located right above Kona in a very tropical quiet setting. This tranquil hideaway is located on half an acre in an upscale neighborhood with fruit trees, papayas, bananas and array of blooming orchids and flowers right out your cottage door! The cottage is tastefully decorated in a tropical style with an amazingly comfortable queen bed, nice sized bathroom with shower and tub, flat screen tv, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a welcome Hawaiian fruit and muffin breakfast for your first couple of days in the cottage. The cottage is stocked with all sorts of travel books on the Big Island, novels and tour brochures. There's a nice bistro set facing the koi pond to relax with coffee or enjoy an afternoon cocktail. The koi pond lulls you to sleep at night with the soothing sound of the waterfall. This place is very quiet and tucked away at a cool elevation for a reprieve of the hot Kona climate yet just 5-10 minutes to Kona town. Available to you are beach chairs, mats, cooler, snorkel gear and beach towels. Hosts on property can help with any information or questions as they are near by but just far enough away to enjoy your privacy. Come visit our tropical hideaway!

  • Great place to stay!

I just got back from a 4 days trip to the Big Island and stayed at Pam's place. I noticed how popular her reviews were and decided to book my place.

It was a very good decision as I instantly felt at ease when I walked into my private cottage. Yes readers!! The rent is extremely reasonable and you get your own cottage :)

Pam is very friendly and real and thinks about every angle from a guests's perspective. You even can find handy toiletry in the bathroom.

The welcome breakfast is a further great touch. The area is quieter and for me it was an environment I wanted to experience in contrast to the sea! The place is not far from Ali drive/ harbour in Kona - about 15 mins by car which is close.

Thank you Pam for a lovely experience and hope to see you again!

Ps I loved our chats!!! :)

  • My husband and I stayed with Pam for 5 days and it was so lovely. She was fun and bubbly and had the cutest dogs in the World ( if you are a doggy lover like myself.) She was very helpful to find fun places to go and do things and site-see and was really accommodating with everything we needed. We really enjoyed our time with Pam!! Thanks again !!

  • Very nice and spaceous room with en suite bathroom. The bed was big and comfortable for the two of us. We had our own entrance. There were loads of beach items we were free to use. Pam was a great host.
We enjoyed our stay a lot.
The location is quiet but at the same time very convenient for trips in the area as Hyws are nearby.

  • My wife and I really enjoyed staying at Pam’s cottage; it is truly a tropical and lush hideaway! The location was perfect, close to town and to the beaches but cool and secluded after a long day in the sun. Pam is a fantastic host; we felt well cared for our entire four-night stay. The cottage is clean, nicely furnished, and well appointed. We were given access to beach toys and towels as well as info for the best beaches and surf spots. Should you find yourself in Kailua-Kona, we highly recommend it!

  • Had a great stay at Pam's tropical hideaway. The mauka elevation made for a cool and peaceful rest after long days at the beach. Pam was a gracious hostess and accommodating to what needs I may have had. The room was private, clean and nicely decorated. There was a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker and small table/chairs outside by the koi pond to have breakfast by. She even helped hook me up with some masters ocean swimmers on Oahu (the island I was headed to next). Every thing that one might need for the beach was there for me to use. In the morning, it was a quick and easy pop down the mountain to town or beaches. I would recommend staying here.

  • I would highly recommend this place to stay in Kona,Big island. Very close to Alii Drive which is really great place for great food with ocean view. One of the advantage staying with her is the complimentary stuff she provides snorkeling gear, beach chairs umbrella(you need them) which is worth the cost and stay. Thanks a lot Pam !!!
