Super-clean, uncluttered, private apartment for rent. Enjoy a private garden courtyard, full kitchen, claw-foot tub and comfortable living space centrally located within walking distance to Alberta Arts District and popular bike and bus routes.
Super-clean, uncluttered, private apartment for rent.
There is one large bedroom with a comfy queen bed. A nice full kitchen with all amenities. The bathroom has a claw-foot tub and best bathtub/shower pressure ever! Stained concrete floors, double paned windows, good light, lots of closet space. Private garden courtyard!
Nice new everything. This is an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) attached to my house. It is a basement apartment but does not feel like a basement because it is partially above ground with lots of windows and light. This is not a permanent residence for anyone; therefore, you won't be crowded with anyone's personal stuff! The place is equipped with extra toiletries, towels, sheets, blankets etc. I try to keep a good stash of tea and coffee and there are multiple ways to make your morning cup -including drip coffee, french press, and espresso.
WiFi. Private fenced courtyard with garden and sitting area. Laundry access is available by special arrangement for longer term guests.
I am prompt with communication and available when needed, but mostly I try to keep a sense of privacy and give you space to enjoy your stay.
The neighborhood is awesome. I am only 2 blocks from Alberta street (Alberta Arts District) and not far from the Historic Mississippi neighborhood. Getting to a great coffee shop, bakery, bar, restaurant is a 5-20 minute walk. You can get downtown in 20-30 minutes on the bus or on bike. In the summer months on Sundays there is a fabulous farmers market across the street.
Very easy access to public transportation and bike routes. There is a bus stop just one block away and a bike rental shop two blocks away.
If you stay here in the summer you can snack on raspberries or blueberries in your own private garden, and you might get to taste my plum jelly that I made from the tree in the back yard.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Private entrance through private garden courtyard.
Interaction with Guests
I live upstairs in the main house. I will be available if needed. We may cross paths and share a friendly conversation, but mostly I like to give my guests full privacy and sometimes we don't see each other at all.
The neighborhood is great! My place is within walking distance to many great shops, pubs, and cafes on Alberta street. Mississippi district is also relatively close. There is a fabulous farmers market only 1 block away during the summer months.
It is very easy to get anywhere in the city by public transit or bike. There is a bus stop only 1 block away and great bike routes are very close by.
Plenty of free street parking.
* Well behaved dogs are allowed upon approval and are not allowed on furniture. An extra $25 cleaning fee is required. No cats.
*Smoking in the yard only, clean up after your pets, no unauthorized guests or parties of more than 6 people. No excessively loud music. Respect quiet hours from 10pm-8am on weekdays.
Please call me right away if you have any questions or problems!
My husband and I needed a temporary home and Lisa provided just that. We really felt like we were at home in the apartment. With the fully stocked kitchen we were able to prepare the majority of our meals at home. The only dilemma here is that there are so many amazing restaurants in the area you will want to spend all your money at them! The queen size bed was very comfortable. There is plenty of storage space for clothing. There is plenty of street parking. It was just a short drive to anywhere in Portland. There are lots of nice grocery stores close by. And lots of great coffee shops!! Our host Lisa was so accommodating! We are happy we chose this apartment!
Lisa's place is comfy and quiet, and easy to get to. Lisa was always reachable whenever I had a question - especially before even arriving to Portland. The place is plenty spacious for 2 people, and would have been fine with 3. The bed is really comfortable, the kitchen is spacious, and it was handy having the desk for working.
She has all the little touches, including a welcome packet, big bath towels, a stocked kitchen, extra bedding, an umbrella, and shopping bags. My only tip: If you are used to carpeting, bring slippers. The heat works fine if you need it, but the floor can be a wee chilly.
I must have gone to Tula (gf bakery 2 blocks away) 4 times in 3 days. I'd certainly return if I were to visit that area of Portland again!
First off - 5 stars!
Lisa's apartment was everything we hoped it would be! It is every bit as quaint and lovely as it looks in the photos. The kitchen has everything you would want or need to use (glasses, mugs, wine glasses, condiments, microwave, dishwasher - there was even a cupcake pan with liners in case you're in the mood to bake!) and the bathroom has a closet inside of it that is stocked with towels and extra bath necessities. It is also centrally located to pretty much everything in Portland. Restaurants, movie theaters, the Japanese gardens, etc., were all roughly 11 minutes away from the apartment. We were also able to check out the local farmers market across the street on Sunday.
If we come back to Portland we will definitely try and stay here again. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing, fun vacation.
Lisa's apartment was great. Just as described but actually bigger than it looks in the pictures. Full sized bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Lisa made us feel very welcome with lots of Portland and Alberta neighbourhood information in the suite. Lisa is also very quick in replying to emails and texts before and during our stay.
The apartment is located across the park from an excellent Sunday Farmer's Market (May-Nov). The location is perfect with an easy walk to Alberta St and a bit longer to Mississippi as well. The suite is well located if you want to drive, bus/tram or bike anywhere in the city. The apartment and the neighbourhood are both excellent and I would recommend staying here.
We enjoyed staying at Lisa's Alberta Arts Garden Apartment. Initially the outside of the house and neighborhood was a bit off putting, but we soon found that we were quite comfortable inside the apartment. Lisa is very nice and we didn't meet her till the end of our week, but she was very accommodating. She is in the process of having the house painted, so maybe the front entry will be more inviting soon. The neighborhood is in transition so some homes are very nice and some are under construction. The convenience of being near Alberta Street with all the restaurants and shops was great! We will probably stay here again when we return to Portland.
Lisa was a great host. Though we did not meet, we kept in touch via email and checking in and out was a breeze. She was very accessible via text message and she would always give very prompt responses.
Her place was very comfortable and inviting. The bed was very comfortable and slept 2 with plenty of room to spare. Her kitchen was equipped with everything that you would possible need during a long or short term stay and the wifi was fully functioning at all times. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our stay very much.
Lisa's place is very cute and practical, though it should be noted that noise travels easily through the place. We didn't mind too much, but just be aware that you might hear some little dogs running around at times.
If I'm ever back in Portland, I won't hesitate to stay in Lisa's place once again! Awesome host and great place :)
Close to cafes and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood but also next door to a school and park. Attentive host. Maybe it's just me but it wasn't clear from the description that this apt is located in the basement of a home. Plenty of light and space but FYI.
