Kathie and Jeff were amazing host. The place was amazing and really relaxing. We almost did not leave the cabin, simply because we were feeling like home and also for the amazing view and the sunset. I will recommend this place for anybody who wish to take a break from the city. Thanks again to our host.
The cabin was everything we had hoped for and more. Amazing view of Wisconsin's largest inland lake, comfy accommodations, tons of peace and quiet and super friendly hosts. We had a great time and plan on returning in the future.
Absolutely amazing little cabin in a beautiful setting. My wife and I stayed for a quick relaxing getaway and were not disappointed! The cabin itself is immaculate and the decoration feels right at home in its surroundings. Lake Winnebago is HUGE and the sunset views from the cabin were breathtaking. Overall, cannot say enough good things, only wish we had the time to stay longer.
The most idyllic little cottage on a lake. Perfectly decorated for relaxation, comfy beds, nice linens, decorated in soothing blues and whites. Would have liked a microwave for quickly heating up a cup of tea or coffee but we dealt with it. The area is absolutely gorgeous with perfect sunsets...ah, to fall asleep hearing the gentle lapping of waves on the shore...heaven. We will be back!
My girlfriend and I rented the cabin for our first "real" vacation alone together. It looked just like the photos. Everything was very clean. Although cold weather moved in during our stay which limited our time enjoying the lake, the views outside the cabin were just wonderful. Neither of us had ever been to that part of Wisconsin before so we took day trips to Fond du Lac, Elkhart Lake, Appleton and Green Bay. Would definitely recommend it and hope to get back again some day.
Es war ein sehr schöner ruhiger Aufenthalt in einen wunderschönem Haus in toller Lage. Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und zuvorkommend.
Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.
Gern immer wieder......
Cathie and her family did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The lake is beautiful and peaceful, and the remodeled kitchen has everything you need to stay in and cook. We wanted to take a hike in the area and spent a morning at High Cliff State Park on Cathie's advice which has some very nice trails -- highly recommended! The cabin is simple and tidy with a shabby-chic feel. Our only wish was that the bathroom had been rehabbed with the rest of the cabin (it definitely felt a little more... rustic). And yes, the sunsets on the lake are beautiful!
My husband and I just got back from a fabulous long weekend relaxing in the cabin. The place is tastefully decorated and exactly what we were looking for: placid, peaceful and generally perfect.
We didn't know the area at all, but the directions proved spot on and Cathie was a pleasure to deal with.
It was reassuring to know that she and husband Jeff were right there if we needed anything, but since the two of us were there to escape everything and just hang out splashing in the lake, reading books and barbecuing we were equally grateful to not feel obliged to socialise.
If we lived on that side of the Atlantic, we'd be sat in the lawn chairs watching the sunsets all the time.
As it is, my husband wants to see real snow and try his (email hidden), so we'll have to be back in Winter next time. Looking forward to banking up that big fire and watching very different sunsets some time soon.
Fantastic weekend winter getaway. The cabin was cozy, cute, and clean....and right on the lake. We cross-country skied all weekend right on the lake. Can't wait to come back in Summer!!!
My husband and I took my Mom here for the weekend as a thank you for helping us pack up our house. It was a lovely experience! I love how clean and peaceful it felt! The place is small and cozy - but plenty of space for us to cook together and hang out and read or play games.
There's a fireplace there and as it was the first real cold weekend we were excited to use it - however it wasn't yet cleaned for the season. That was the only disappointment. Cathie did have a lot of candles around for us to have a cozy fiery ambiance instead (although candles burn out a lot faster then a fire).
Cathie called as she wasn't going to be around and told us of an a great walk from the house to a county park - which we really enjoyed! And she told us about a few restaurants and coffee shop. She was very sweet! Also - we loved watching the beautiful sunsets each night right over the lake!
