About this listing
Nice sized room with plenty of natural light and a balcony with views of Montjuic etc.
Please read description properly before emailing questions.
This is a 3 bed apt ( I live here, other room is a small guest room ), with a sunny room for one or two people, it has a balcony. The apt has air conditioning, Wi fi internet, new 42 inch plasma TV, washing machine, dishwasher and access via lift.
The bathroom is shared.
Excellent area to live as it is central but without problems of the usual touristy areas, there lots of shops, restaurants, markets and metro/ bus stops. I am a photographer and have a small office in the apt, I have lived here for about 5 years. The apartment offers a great view to Montjuic Castle.
The apartment is located in Sant Antoni neighborhood, between Gran Via, Ronda de Sant Antoni, Ronda de San Pau and Paral-lel Avenue, great location, central and quiet. Public transportation to everywhere in Barcelona.
It is really close to the historical landmarks of Barcelona, also known as Ciutat Vella and other interesting areas of Barcelona, such as Plaza España, Raval, Poble Sec, Eixample Dret and Eixample Esquerre. Great location to business trips and vacation.
You have full access to all the usual communal areas like living room and kitchen and can therefore prepare food if you like.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the apt so I am usually available for advice or questions.
Great central location that does not suffer from being too touristy, lately a lot of new trendy places have opened in the area that offer a greater choice of local places to visit.
There is plenty of public transport, but being very central you might find it is not that necessary.
I don't really feel I need to set house rules, but apparently airbnb wants it, so just use common sense, it is a nonsmoking apt but there are balconies you can use if you want to smoke and I even have ashtrays!
Lee was a gracious host who was happy to provide ideas on where to go and where to avoid. Our room was spacious, clean and having our own balcony was great. It was also great to be in the middle of everything in Barcelona. Thanks Lee, all the best.
Lee is a wonderful host. He was very helpful and loves a chat. All round good bloke.

Lee was an excellent host. Communication was prompt. Apartment was just as advertised. Lee helped us navigate the metro system, gave us an extra metro pass (thank you!), and lent us an umbrella for the beach. Being on the 5th floor and in July (and pregnant!), it was quite hot in the apartment. The AC does not reach very well to the bedroom at night to sleep comfortably.
Staying at Lee's apartment was wonderful! It was our first stop in our tour of Spain, and Lee made it very comfortable and easy. The building and neighborhood are beautiful. Plenty of places to eat and drink, the metro is very close and there are a lot of taxis to get around. Easy to get there from the airport, and Lee provided perfect instructions on how to find his apartment.
Lee is an excellent host, a real englishman. You may have a nice conversation, but he will never bother you. Personally, I have with him a longest weather talk in my life.
Apartment is very nice, it has elevator which is very important after a long day walking in Barcelona. Please notice that air conditioner is not in the rental room, so it would be hard to use it. You'll have to open window widely and turn on a fan (which is good) to get some night cool before sleep. Because of open windows there is always a dust from streets on the floor and furniture. Also it can be really noisy sometimes when motocycles or garbage trucks pass by, but most of the time street noise is acceptable. Bathroom is great, but kitchen could be a bit cleaner.
Anyway, I would definitely stay at Lee's apartment again. It has excellent location and neighborhood, and of course - the great host.
Lee was great. He not only helped us getting around town, but gave some great tips for local stores etc. Location was great and easy to get around within a short walk or metro ride.

About the Host, Lee
I have travelled quite a lot and lived in several different countries, I spent nearly 5 years in Argentina and most of that time lived in the apt listed in Buenos Aires, when I first moved there it was a fairly quiet barrio but I knew it would become something much more popular, Palermo Viejo was back then very popular with foreigners so it was obvious the place to be was across the tracks.
I now live in Barcelona and think the area I live in is perfect, as it is very central without the negative aspects of the overly tourist areas around La Rambla etc.
Mercat de San Antoni has everything you need in terms of travel and amenities and you can stroll to the centre in 10 mins, or, in 15 mins you can walk in the other direction and find yourself close to Monjuic and the peace and greenery that it offers. I love going there to sit on the grass and read a book in the shade when it's very hot as not only is there plenty of grass and trees but you usually benefit from cool breezes as well.
