When we arrived to the airport the tuk tuk was not there to get us. We called and they came about an hour after our flight landed. We got to the guesthouse and they didn't have our reservation from AirBnB, but they had a room for us. This was our only hiccup, our stay was great- we stayed 8 nights. I would just confirm your pickup and your stay before you go.
The location is awesome!! The guesthouse is nice, and the breakfast is yummy and cheap. The staff are great and very helpful for whatever you need. They have a very reliable and safe tuk tuk service. The guesthouse is very very close to pub street. They can organize whatever you would like to do and are helpful to talk to about your ideas.
It's completely family run and they are all soooo friendly and wonderful!
We had a great stay at ProhmRoth Guesthouse. We chose to get the train from Bangkok to the Cambodian border as we thought it would be more exciting than flying. You actually get dropped off around 2 hours from Siem Riep so Meang arranged for a taxi to collect us at a pre agreed price which was very reasonable and he dropped us right off at the guest house. Our room wasn't ready the first night as there was some issue with another guest but there was very clear communication before we arrived and we were put in their equally as nice second guest house just 10 minutes away and moved over the next day so it really wasn't much of a problem. We were made to feel very welcome and Ratha who was our driver for the temples over two days couldn't have been nicer. They even organised Breakfast for us for our Sunrise visit to Angkor Wat which was a 4.45am start. I would definitely recommend using their drivers to get you around the temples. You can also book a guide once you are there to walk you through each circuit but we chose to just wonder around ourselves and didn't feel we needed to pay the extra for a guide. PromRoth is just a 2 minute walk from pub street but is very quiet, we didn't hear any of the noise from bars etc once we returned to our room, its also very good stumbling distance if you have taken advantage of the 50 cent beers or $3 cocktails on offer! Rooms were very clean/comfortable, breakfast was great and the free WiFi very reliable. There are lots of great restaurants just off pub street too so its perfectly placed (I saw some of the bigger resorts on my way to Angkor Wat and thought how much easier it was to be staying just a little closer to the action, as the big hotels are kind of on the outskirts of town). The entire team were just great and so friendly, if you need a reasonably priced place in Siem Riep, make it this one!
It was a good decision to stay at the ProhmRoth Guesthouse which belongs to Mr. Meang Suon and his family.
The whole family takes care of the guests. They are all very friendly, helpful, brave and do all that you can feel satisfied. I left my luggage there when I did my trip of 5 days to Phnom Penh. And it was no problem to stay longer in my room before I went to the airport.
I felt there all the time welcome, in good hands and safe.
The location is great. You are very close to the Pub Street, Night Market... The hotel is in a very quiet street so you don't hear city's noises.
I booked all my tours in Siem Reap and to the Angkor Temples (8 days + pick-ups) at the hotel's Tuk-Tuk driver, Mr. Sineoun, whom I highly recommend.
I recommend to book this place too because in this way you support local people and this beatiful and hospitable country gets the chance to develope after so many hard years. In my opinion it is very important.
This is a fantastic guesthouse and from beginning to end Meang and his family took wonderful care of us, from the tuktuk pickup at the airport to the lift to the boat station, they went above and beyond the call of duty. Meang even rang our next hotel to arrange a pickup as I couldn't email them in time, thanks again Meang. This was by far our favourite place in Cambodia, the guesthouse is lovely just how it's described on airbnb, spacious room, nice shower, tv, cups of tea on request which was so nice, lovely breakfast made to order which sets you up for a day at the temples. We used Ratha for our 3 day temple trips, he was great and only charged $15 for a whole day. On the first day we had a guide which was well worth it he was so nice and informative and funny, Meang arranged this also he was $35 for a full day. We liked Bayon Temple the best, although all the others were good and on the last day we went up the mountain to see early rock carvings, the tourist cinema was also great for a nice relax it's just around the corner, turn left out of guesthouse then turn right at end of road and its a short walk along on the right, you get a private booth with comfy chairs and footstool, $5 each for a DVD on massive screen, so we had beers and popcorn at $5 for two we'll you have to treat yourself sometimes! We watched Last Vegas but they have an extensive catalogue, the markets are great we had a lovely steak in the night market across the river. Pub street is brilliant right on the doorstep well almost it's great being right in the centre but in a quiet side street, very lively at night and good value. Blue pumpkin was also one of our favourites for a late cake and coffee so nice especially after a long day walking round the temples. WiFi and tv were fab as well so all in all a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend Meangs guesthouse.
Stayed 3 nights at Meang's Prohm Roth Guesthouse. This place is amazing - close to everything you can possibly hope for. Meang and his family are extremely helpful with all our enquiries and they just simply tick all the boxes for a good host. You can't go wrong with Meang!
Fantastic work Meang - look forward to staying with you again! Tell your cousin Kin, Tai says thanks!
Staying at ProhmRoth for our trip in Cambodia was perfect. From the time we arrived at the airport to the time we left the country, ProhmRoth took care of us. Our driver for the trip, Sinoeaun, took us everywhere. He drove us from and to the airport and also 7-8 hours for 2 days of temple sight seeing. He was professional, timely, knowledgeable, and spoke English well. During our two days of sightseeing, he offered us water, suggestions on itinerary/restaurants, and clear plans on where he would drop us off and be picked up. The guesthouse's location was perfect for us because it was close enough to the old market area, but far enough from the noise on pub street. The room had good a/c, a great view of the neighboring temple, was clean, spacious, comfortable and safe.
The value was great and we would definitely use their services again.
