Check In
  • Hey! We really enjoyed you, your staff, and your hospitality.
We were well informed of the ins and outs of Cambodia. We appreciated your perspective on he way of life there.

We were picked up from the airport, and the same driver took us to Angkor Wat. Note, that he is a porter, (email hidden).

Overall, we would return because it is so close to the action, but just down the way!

  • Very cordial and caring family. Clean, comfortable rooms which were amazingly affordable. They made us feel at home and provided transportation also for very reasonable price to nearby places. Highly recommend for down to earth experience loving travelers. This B&B is very conveniently located.
    Thanks Suon family

  • The wonderful group of people who work here were so helpful when it came to organizing to do different things. Staying at ProhmHouse allowed us to see Siem Reap much less than we would have had to pay if we tried to do activities through separate tour groups. Had a wonderful time

  • Meang and family were the most hospitable of hosts we have yet to encounter. Their guesthouse is clean, tidy, and the most welcoming of hostels. The Cambodian people as a whole are warm and friendly, but Meang and family are true gems. The location of their guesthouse is the most ideal imaginable, right next to Pub Street, Old Market, and NIght Market. We used their tuktuk (his uncle was our driver) and thoroughly enjoyed our temple excursions to the fullest. Responsable and friendly. I would recommend this place a million times over and look forward to going back.

  • What's great about this place is it's very near Pub St. and Old Market (5mins walk) but far enough not to be disturbed by noise at night. You can go shopping, eat, etc.. for a couple of hours, then when tired, just walk back, get out of the HEAT, take a shower and nap--- to be ready again to go out. Another of its great assets is the VERY FAST WIFI-- if there's a problem with connection, the staff readily fixes it.

The guesthouse is okay-- all facilities are there as advertised. The place managed to have electricity during a Siem Reap-wide brownout while 5-star hotels there had none! Cleanliness is relative-- if you're very particular, just ask the staff to clean your room. Free plated breakfast consist of 2 fried eggs with toast and coffee or tea. Travel arrangements for going to attractions(Angkor Wat, Tonle Sap,etc.) is easy to arrange with Mr. Meang, who is quite helpful.

All in all, we had a good stay---not too fancy but quite adequate. As we say it-- It's not a hotel, it's a guesthouse. You get what you pay for.

  • The location of the guest house is excellent. Very near the centre of the town yet away from its hustle and bustle. Mr. Meang was quite helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean too.
Communicating with the brothers/sisters of Mr. Meang was a challenge as their knowledge of English was not adequate.
Mr. Meang needs to pay greater attention to the upkeep/maintenance of the facility

  • An warm and friendly enviroment. Meang and his staff were helpful and available at all times. The location is brilliant, being very near the tourist area, but tucked away down an alley oppostte a Wat makes it a tranquil and soothing enviroment.

  • Meang and the staff at ProhmRoth are extremely nice and helpful. They picked us up at the airport, arranged for a taxi for us to get from Siem Reap to the Cambodia-Thailand border, and answered any questions we had. If you're looking for a very basic, low-amenities, no frills place with friendly staff, Prohm Roth is for you.

We were there for a very short time (2 nights), and it was enough as a place to rest. Our room was clean, but there were some inconveniences - for example, our AC leaked, there weren't extra towels , the blanket on the bed was a large towel, and some of the electrical outlets didn't work.

However, we understand that Siem Reap (email hidden) with scarce resources, and Meang and the staff did their best to make us feel welcome and comfortable here.

  • My staying at Cambodia can't be better, thanks to Meang and his family. Everything was great from arrival. I was travelling from Thailand by earth, and Meang was able to organize a taxi, to meet me directly at Poipet (Cambodia side of border), and take us to his house. When we arrived we found out a group of people actually meeting us at doors, helping with luggage and everything. Next day one of Meang brothers was driving tuk-tuk around temple area for the whole day, basically we started at 5 a.m and came back at 5 p.m, just about hour or 2 before darkness. And i can say that he was exellent driver, i can't wish a better one.

As for room, it was big, with large, king size bed, air conditioning and such. It was clean everywhere, not only inside room, but in the guesthouse itself. There is always someone at reception downstairs, being able to help you with your needs or questions.

I have not found breakfest to be very useful, cause it's more like european style like toatsts, eggs, omelets and such. Nothing like real food for me, but in the walking distance there is a lot of restaurants for any taste.

Anyway i enjoyed staying at Meangs house very much, and can say that is has very great rate of value for money.

  • Such a nice clean place. They helped with everything they could, including booking Tuk Tuk's, helping us get to Angkor Wat, and even made us an early breakfast to take with us when we went to see the temples at sunrise. This place was amazing!!!!
