The Space

We'd love to host you in our beautiful 4-bedroom, 1500 square foot, top floor Edwardian apartment. When we are in town we rent out the Garden Lovers Retreat for as little as $69 a night (varies by season and night). The entire flat is $400 a night (about $100 per room). When we are away we can combine any of the 4 rooms with special pricing. We discount for children and for stays of 6 nights or more. Dates when more than just the Garden Lovers Room is available:
June 2 - June 24
July 3 - July 14
July 27 - August 12

While our address is on Castro Street and is just a few doors down from where Harvey Milk lived and worked (where the movie was filmed), it is up a small hill that allows us to be central, but quiet.

The Garden Lovers rooms is in the back of the house and faces the garden with views of downtown. The Room has a new Queen memory foam bed in it and a large closet. The Family Room also faces the garden and has a full-bed and a queen sofa-bed facing the fireplace. Adjoining it is a great room for kids to stay in or two friends with two twin-beds and a chalkboard wall to draw on. On the other side of the flat is the Cool Blue Master Bedroom overlooking Castro Street.

Guest Access

Available for shared use:
- Expansive lush garden
- Dining area with seating up to 10
- Well appointed kitchen for the serious (or not) cook
- Modern washer and dryer in unit
- One and a half baths

The building has a large, lush backyard, which you may share with two other families. Parking is available for longer stay guests for an additional fee.

Interaction with Guests

If you rent the entire flat we will make sure a friend nearby is available to greet you and help if anything goes wrong. If renting a room while we are in town we are likely to invite you to join us for dinners, or to go out and even for our weekly Tuesday Night Game Night Party. We are very social and want to make you feel welcome in San Francisco.

The Neighborhood

Located on Castro Street between 19th and 20th Streets. Ours is a residential block, just two blocks from the center of the famed Castro District and its stores, restaurants, nightlife, grocery and 24-hr drug store, playground, and Muni underground train station. We're 3 blocks from Dolores Park, which is the best place to enjoy a sunny day in the city.

Getting around

The world-renowned Castro district is famous for Harvey Milk and Gay nightlife. But the locals know it as the heart of the city, situated at the perfect center. More than a dozen major transit lines run through in every direction, making the entire city an arms reach away. Some of the City's best restaurants, wine bars, parks, bakeries, murals and people watching are here.

Other Things to Note

We (email hidden) we wrote to hidden treasures, special places we love, locals only restaurants, walking tours through interesting neighborhoods. And we're happy to advise you on travel in the area or the US, dates for a trip, special interests. We travel a lot and love to help our fellow travelers. We also love our City and want to help you make the most of your stay here.

Check In
  • We had an absolutely lovely time at Geoff and Craig's, with the room and the hosts holding equal responsibility for our enjoyment. The room is huge, fantastically lit and very very comfortable, and the rest of the apartment (in which the hosts live with their two kids) is also beautiful, and the location was ideal for us. Geoff and Craig were exceptionally accommodating, let us check our bags a day in advance and leave them for the day after we had checked out, and were highly responsive and full of recommendations and suggestions ((email hidden) of local restaurants, coffee shops and attractions they share with their guests). We also had the fortune of getting very helpful tips for Yosemite National Park from their friend who they hosted for dinner. All in all, highly recommended!

  • We had a great stay with Geoff and Craig. The location was great and we got lot of good tips for locations to explore nearby in Castro, the Mission and elsewhere. I thoroughly recommend this place.

  • We didn't meet our hosts, but it was easy getting in and out. They left a note on our nightstand with suggestions for cafes and places to eat, which were all lovely. The room was a little dusty and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a while, but the bedding was fresh and the room had a nice garden view.

  • Nice flat!

  • We had a great time at Geoff's and Craig's home. We had a very late arrival and appreciated them accommodating our arrival. The home was easy to navigate and clean. Our room was comfortable and spacious.

We loved the information and tips Geoff gave to us. It made our trip even better! If you're looking for a good brunch place ask Geoff! He's a wealth of information.

The area is safe and friendly for us to wander around at night, with local parks nearby. It was also easy to get around on foot and public transit was available when needed. We would stay here again!

  • Apartment was super convenient and the room was lovely. Geoff was very nice and provided lots of details ahead of time - including a full overview of SF (which would be helpful for 1st time visitors... as it was, I was there on business and didn't require it). The one thing that was a bit of a detraction was that they have two small children, who wake up early and (as children often do) may have melt downs, just when you are trying to get your last hour of sleep.

  • We stayed 4 nights at the Garden Lovers room. The house is lovely and the room is big. The mattress is so comfortable that we slept like babies. The neighbourhood has plenty of restaurants and night life, as well as shops and good connection to other neighborhoods and downtown. It´s a nice area to go walking and discover Mission District as well. Geoff and Craig were very kind with us and he gave us lots of tips and recommendations of places to visit and to eat. The kids are also adorable. We´d absolutely recommend 100% to stay in this place.

  • This was our first try at airbnb, and we loved our stay with Geoff and Craig! The neighborhood was perfect - walking distance to incredible restaurants, tons of history, and really vibrant. Plus, Geoff is a wealth of information and recommendations; not only did he provide us with a guide to the city before we even left home, but he also gave advice while we were in town. The room is quiet and comfortable, plenty of space for two. The bathroom is shared, which wasn't a problem (though we did plan out morning showers on a weekday when we had Alcatraz reservations at 8:15 a.m.). All in all, it was excellent. We would definitely return.

  • Great place in the Castro! awesome location and hosts.

  • Our stay at Geoff and Craig's was great. Probably one of the best during our time in San Fran. Geoff made us feel very welcome and at home, his knowledge of the area and San Fran in General was most helpful and the recommended spots were great. The house cost and the room we had had a great view and comfy bed. I would love to stay again!
