Interaction with Guests
My schedule is always up and down. So if available I'm happy to go around exploring and sharing this lovely city NY :)
In between the Montrose and Morgan stops off the L train a short 12 minute commute to Union Square in Manhattan a major hub train station that can get you pretty much Anywhere within NYC. Plenty of great bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. Very safe at All hours, and even a new great vintage clothing store right on the corner that's actually very fair priced!
L train a short 3 minute walk away and less than 15 minutes to Union Square.
Other Things to Note
Laundry in building as well too, if one wishes to do so.
Not many rules really besides no cigarette smoking. Just please clean your dishes right away. Oh please wipe and close the toilet seat, and please remove any hair from shower drain before ending your shower, please leave the bathroom doors open (to know if someone's in there or not) and please don't feed the cat! :) He'll pretend he hasn't eaten in days :P
I felt so welcome at Rico's! His house is like a little museum, all those memories and stories, really amazing. From the first correspondence till the last goodbye he was the best host ever. Rico took me to his friends, showed me the best places around and let me borrow his showerstuff and bike. Everything to make me feel at home and let me live a New York life.
Thanks Rico!! I will be back :-)
Rico was super welcoming and made sure he connected with me several times before my arrival. It was great (and reassuring!) knowing that my host was prepared and looking forward to my stay.
All directions were accurate and it was easy to find his place, he was out when I arrived but was back within minutes of me emailing him which was great!
The place is exactly what you see in the pictures, Rico has taken a lot of care and time to create his world and it is wonderful to be able to share it, for even a couple of days.
They were having problems with the gas whilst I was there so no heating/oven/hot water. Rico was very apologetic and there was a shower in an empty flat that tenants could use. There was nothing Rico could have done and I can only imagine how frustrated he and the other tenants must be! (But must admit that as a female I didnt feel entirely comfortable showering in an empty flat on another floor ).
Rico was a generous and considerate host and I was lucky enough to join him and his (amazing!) friends for a night out- so my stay was totally worth it just for that! Big thank you to him for being open to introducing me, just another airbnb guest!
Totally easy to use the subway to head into the city and cafes etc around the loft anyway.
I would recommend Rico and his place but am hoping that they have the gas sorted!!
Thanks again Rico for a great stay
ps Bogart is a boss
What could I possibly add to the verdict of previous reviewers who have stayed at Rico's fantastic little Brooklyn empire? Rico and his loft are two of those things that are as unseperable as Baywatch and red bathing suits: Step into his world and you'll have a good idea of what the inside of his mind looks like. Rico is the most welcoming and generous host, bursting with positive energy and relentless amazement for life and everything that comes with it. Take a leap and embark on the journey he may take you on, you will do everything except for regretting it. Without a doubt one of the greatest places you can stay in, cannot wait to come back!
