For six months he kept bivouac in the garden. Between his missions and exercises, the military in the Kota came to rest. At a campfire when the twilight fell. He was used to the back to basics (with primus and mosquito nets) and came back here slowly in normal life.

The space
The Kota is a Finnish wooden cottage with a large fireplace in the middle. Here you can cook or just enjoy the warmth of the fire. The cottage is surrounded by a wild large garden. You can separate yourself from the world here for a moment and enjoy the tranquility. Meditation, retreat, writing a book, finding yourself again, landing, ....

In the nearby house is a shower and toilet area.
The kota is for those who want back to basics. Off the grid. Camping in a wooden tiny house with a large piece of wild nature around you.

Are you an adventurer? Are you looking for a spiritual place? Would you like to be all alone for a moment? Then you are welcome (with or without your dog) in Zegge.

Where you’ll be

Zegge, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands

Zegge is a small church village in North Brabant. This village is a pilgrimage site. In the month of May, many pilgrims walk to the large church in this village.

Nearby you will find Oudenbosch, with the beautiful Basilique. Experience the peace and the collection of special trees in the arboretum near the station.

You can hike and cycle to your heart's content in our surroundings. Explore the old forests between Hoeven and Bosschenhoofd. For the children here is the largest outdoor swimming paradise Splesj. Wander around the Rucphen Heath, which is at its most beautiful in August, visit the beautiful Heemtuin in Rucphen, eat an ice cream at the ice farm in Nispen or bike along the many villages in the area. Vincent van Gogh's Brabant footprints are not far from here (Zundert). Along the way you will find all kinds of local products, such as asparagus (from May 1st to June 21st) and strawberries.

A little further away you will find the Biesbosch (38 km) and the island of Tiengemeten (38 km), both with a unique flora and fauna and wonderful hiking opportunities.

Within 10 (car)minutes you will be in Belgium. A little less than fifteen minutes from the border you can walk over the Kalmthoutse Heide. You can visit the famous arboretum or the Suske-en-Wiske Museum of Kalmthout. Or on Sunday morning to the cozy small farmers' market in Kapellen (B).

Zeeland can also be reached within an hour by car from here.

If you prefer cities, Dordrecht (35 km), Breda (23 km), Roosendaal (6.5 km) and Bergen op Zoom (22 km) are all nearby.
