  • Great location! The room and the shared bathroom were clean. The kitchen has everything you need for a quick meal. Be prepared for the stairs!

  • The room was nice and clean and the location was great. But when we booked the room, we didn't know that we'd have to share the bathroom with other guests. I would recommend the room, but the descriptin could be a little bit more detailed (it is more like a hostel than like a private room) and the lock is a bit difficult to open and shoud be repaired soon.

  • The room was clean with good storage space and a very comfortable bed. The only tricky thing is the narrow staircase if you have heavy luggage. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils with a nearby Tesco. It's also very close to the Underground and only a few stops from everything in central London. Very nice!

  • My friend and I stayed for 3 days at Giovanni's and I can say: IT'S A TRAP!!! the location is really good, but it was not clear for us that we had to share the bathroom with others rooms. the bathroom on the second floor didn't have hot water, so all the six rooms had to share the first floor bathroom, and the shower fell down sometimes. There was a heater on the room, but it didn't work and, despite it says there is central heater, the house was cold.
But the main problem is the door! we just couldn't unlock it from the outside!!! everytime we had to ask for help to others guests or we had to help them with the same problem! One day some random guy on the street helped us to unlock the door because we coudn't open it!! It's not some little problem, even the staff had problems to open it. I don't recommend.

  • What I Iliked:
    - the location close to the tube and very quiet although in the center of London.
    - the size of the bedroom
    - the cleaness of the bathroom and sheets, towels were perfect

    The negative points:
    - the appartement is not as nice as you could think when having a look at the photos
    - the door which as impossible to open or close with the key from outside. First night another gest let me in because I was blocked outside... but he woke me up at midnight to let him in because he had the same problem with the key ; and when I left I couldn't close the building
I think you can't host people in a building where they take the risk to pass part of the night outside or take the risk to let the door open because they can't close it.
Please make sure you change this asap!

  • his is a good place to stay if you are on a budget, a good place to put your head down. But I much prefer an ensuite room etc., but for the money this was excellent value.

  • I staid two nights in London at Giovanni's place. Location was perfect, very close to tube station and lovely neighbourhood (Borough market is great!). Room was spacious, clean but very basic.
Unfortunately it was not clear to me there are 3 guestrooms sharing 1 bathroom, which was a little inconvenient.

  • Me and my friend stayed at Giovanni's place recently and we both found it very comfortable. The bedroom had everything we needed, the wifi worked well and the bathroom was clean. The place was quiet and we had no problem sleeping.

The only negative thing I have to say is about the main door, which is very difficult to lock/unlock! At one time, we had to ask for help from other guests to get the door open. But otherwise, the place was great!

  • Clean and tidy room and bathroom , worth its money.

    February 2014
  • The room was nice, everything was good except the people in the other rooms were loud from about 3:30 to 4:30 in the morning. Great location if you want to stay near the London Bridge or go see a couple plays at Shakespeare's Globe.
