Interaction with guests
We enjoy chatting with guests when they come and go from their activities, if we happen to cross paths with them.
Our neighborhood is quite an amazing blend of suburban loveliness, next door to the hip, urban restaurants and farmers market at Shaker Square, two blocks from beautiful lakes and parks, and less than a ten minute drive to Cleveland's famous hospitals, museums, universities and orchestra. We are only a 15 minute drive to downtown Cleveland.
4 doors from our home is a stop of the rapid transit train, a type of trolley that goes directly downtown and on to the Science Center and Rock Hall on the weekends. A bus that travels to the hospitals, Case, and museums stops only an 8-minute walk away. A car is fun to have, but not necessary to get around.
Other things to note
We do have indoor-outdoor cats that are not allowed to enter the guest suite. Our visitors with cat allergies have told us they have not experienced allergy symptoms while staying in our house. Our visitors who love cats are welcome to pet them downstairs and out in our yard.
No smoking, candles or incense. No parties or loud music or loud TV after hours.
The suite is not baby or toddler-proofed. We prefer children to be age 5 and older. However, if you have a well-behaved 4-year-old, we're open to hosting you.
Generally, no pets (but let me know if you think I should make an exception). If we do host your pet, we require a $50 pet cleaning fee + $100 pet damage deposit. $100 will be returned in full when you check out if no damage has occurred.
If you can take a few minutes to create your AirBnB profile before contacting us, that would be helpful.
Please wash your dishes and leave the rooms as you found them - clean and neat.
Leave used towels in the hamper when you leave (sheets optional).
Please bring trash and recycling downstairs on Sunday nights for Monday morning collection.
Other than that, help yourself to coffee and tea, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and view of the treetops, and make yourself at home!

I grew up in Cleveland, lived in the NYC/NJ area for many years and moved back here in 2003. I love being back - it is so easy to get places, so affordable and people are so nice and friendly. You can enjoy the beauty of nature all around you when you walk out your door and still be near countless cultural and urban pleasures a few blocks away.
I still love visiting New York and look forward to doing a lot more travel in the years ahead.
