Our stay was wonderful! We'll return to Mimi's home if our travels take us to Cleveland again. Our beds were comfortable, the Wi-Fi worked beautifully, and our hostess was so welcoming! You'll thoroughly enjoy the lovely community and the ease of travelling to the museums and sights.
I stayed with Mimi and Bill for four weeks. They made me feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful and friendly. The atelier was very cosy and I felt very comfortable during my stay. Even though it was the coldest January it was always nice and warm. Mimi and Bill were very sweet and nothing was a problem. They let me use their washing machine and also offered that I could use their kitchen if I wanted to. Bill even carried my giant suitcase upstairs for me! I would definitely stay there again if I came back to Cleveland!
Gary and I really enjoyed staying with Mimi and her family. They were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were easily heated with electric heaters, as it was cold when we visited. We woke to snow the first morning! The bed was comfortable and in the other room we could make our own breakfast. Mimi supplied coffee and yoghurts. It's also very quiet, just the usual noises of a family. It's in a beautiful part of Cleveland and you can easily walk to shops and restaurants in Shaker Square. It's a great place to stay when you are in Cleveland.
Staying at Mimi's was simply beautiful. I was travelling with two friends of mine and we all had the upper floor to ourselves. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and very clean and Mimi also provided ourselves with milk, juice, yoghurt, some fruits and coffee. We would definitely recommend her place to everyone travelling in the Cleveland area. Mimi and her family were kind hosts, they were always up for a chat and recommended places to visit and eat in the local area.
Mimi and Bill are warm, friendly hosts who make it easy to share their home, while renting out their third floor. They pay attention to detail and their effort to make your stay comfortable and stress-free is evidenced from beginning to end. The accommodations are appointed with items of quality, from the brita-type filter to the bathroom fully stocked with soft, fluffy towels. The fridge came stocked with some yogurt and there was some fruit in a basket, again making one feel most welcome and cared for. Other than the space being ideal for two, acceptable for three, I recommend this AirBnB rental without reservation (pun intended).
I am a midwifery student and was up at the hospital for a clinical rotation. I spent two wonderful months with Mimi and Bill. They are perfect hosts and very helpful with suggestions of places to eat, etc. They were very sensitive to my strange hours (I worked both day and night shifts, sometimes in the same week) and kept the house quiet when they knew I was likely to be sleeping even if it was in the middle of the day. As for sleeping, I turned on their air conditioner upstairs and slept like the dead! It was wonderful! I rode my bike to the hospital each day and it was the perfect distance. They were kind enough to keep my bike in their garage, and worked with me on some other adjustments to make me feel very comfortable. They were very sensitive to my privacy, never coming upstairs unless invited. I had dinner with them a time or two and even ended up seeing the Lion King with Mimi, so you know they are great folks! The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, and loaded with charm. There is plenty of space in the rooms for a person to stay for a few weeks or even months. If there were more than two people, it might feel a little crowded long-term. I was very happy with my stay and will stay there again next time I am in Cleveland.
The ONLY real issue that I had was that the internet is very sketchy there. I couldn't get it to work well the entire two months I was there and ended up doing work at the hospital or using my IPAD's hotspot. Hopefully, though, they will have that resolved for the next visitor.
We thoroughly enjoyed having Suzanne as a guest as well!
This is the first time we've had a complaint about the internet in all our visitors. Time Warner did speed it up for us (although we are already on a very fast plan with them) after Suzanne first mentioned it to us and there were times when we checked it upstairs and it was running well. We've added a new Wi-Fi booster on our second floor that should insure the suite has fast Wi-Fi at all times.
It was a great stay on Shaker Heights!
Mimi and her lovely family live in the best Cleveland neighborhood.
The private apartment is inside a beatiful cozy house. What is important is that it is really private and peaceful. It is fully equiped with every thing you will need during your stay. We really felt like living in our home in there.
It's just a few minutes by car from the Clinic and just a few steps from the public park and Shaker Square, where you can find laundry, supermarket, nice restaurants and a Cafe.
It's incredible how careful Bill is about the garden, thats why it looks so great all the time.
We will never forget the good times in there, specialy the cheese and wine night at the garden.
All the best!

Mimi and her husband Bill were absolutely lovely hosts: warm, welcoming, discreet. Mimi sent driving instructions from the airport, which was very appreciated, and helped us locate key destinations during our stay. The third floor is sufficiently separate to feel private, but contained within the household (shared external entrance; access to the third floor through the central staircase). The 3rd floor suite is quiet and comfortable. It is possible to cook although we limited ourselves to hot drinks and cold foods. Pots are stored in the bathroom so elaborate cooking would not be practical but there is sufficient equipment to cook should one wish to. For those of you who like taking baths, the bathroom is very nice: large, light-filled, with a good tub. What we appreciated most was simply the warmth of the hosts themselves and the beauty of their home, which is filled with art, much of it by relatives and friends.
My wife and I had a lovely time at Bill & Mimi's place. Touring for a year with a Broadway play usually means a lot of hotels, so any chance to enjoy a residential stay is always much appreciated. Bill and Mimi were terrific hosts, very accommodating and truly interested in making us feel at home. They also were very kind to make an exception for our well-behaved dog, and we all enjoyed their backyard (on the days it wasn't raining!). Shaker Heights is a nice respite from downtown Cleveland, with beautiful houses, some nice little restaurants, and even some nature trails near their house. A good stay in pleasant surroundings with fine folk. Thanks, Mimi!
My week long stay at Mimi's home couldn't have been better. The top floor two rooms and bath are both pretty and practical. The Shaker Heights neighborhood is delightful and close to restaurants and public transportation. Highly recommend.
