This is a wonderful neighborhood in the middle of everything.
My neighbors are wonderful and overall it is quiet, although food and music are well within walking distance.
For you guys looking for activities, there are several parks within a mile of my place as well as Ladybird Lake, Auditorium Shores, kyaking, swimming (both free and Barton Springs) are nearby. There is a hike & bike biking trail, including the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.
Heart of Austin.

Interaction with Guests
I will meet you when you arrive to introduce you to my neighbors. I will occasionally stop by to pick up my mail. Otherwise I bid you a great stay.
Clarksville is a lovely older neighborhood with some historical buildings. Although it appears to be primarily a higher income neighborhood, there are several small complexes in the hood where working class people and students live. There are plenty of trees and nearby restaurants, as well as several small parks nearby.
This neighborhood is downtown adjacent, so the wait for a taxi is pretty short, in my experience. You can walk downtown in less than 15 minutes. To the convention center, it's about 20-25 minutes.
There are multiple bus lines within 1-3 blocks in 3 directions. It is located between 2 major highways, no more than 1.2 miles from one and less than 1 mile from the other.
Other Things to Note
Wall gas heater, window unit A/C, toaster, toaster over, gas stove, recycling.
If you wish, I can provide a few specific snacks for you.
I have pretty basic rules:
Please respect my neighbors.
Please smoke outside on the patio.
The apartment is super convenient to 6th street and just far enough away and enjoy the peace and quiet that SXSW sometimes doesn't offer! I was thoughtfully awoken each morning to the cooing of morning doves and the cool breeze off the balcony got me up and going. The apartment while small provided enough room for me and it was fine.
Adriana was fantastic - everything was set up for us, and she even left some snacks and a 6-pack. The apartment was walking distance to the action, and was a perfect spot for SXSW. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Austin!
Stayed at adriana's for Sxsw '13. The location is absolutely perfect. Walking distance to 6th street, minutes to the biggest Wholefoods in the world and 24h diner.
Studio was not big. It can accomodate 6, but you'll be squeezed. I would have liked some basic kitchen ware, like a microwave, or some plates/utensiles.
The host was awesome. She prepared beers and bubbly wine for our arrival + some snacks. She was also super flexible on check out time.
I absolutely recommend this place to anyone, especially for SXSW.
About the Host, Adriana
I'm originally from Houston TX, but have been living in Austin for 16 years, so I have morphed into an Austinite. I enjoy travel, music, films, crafting, and yoga. I also really enjoy living and working closely so I may avoid as much commuting as possible.
