From the moment you arrive at Jack’s Cottage, your holiday and relaxation begin. This welcoming holiday cottage in the Peak District is set in a peaceful village with views across the Derbyshire Dales countryside. Enjoy countryside walks from the doorstep, with two local pubs and a village pantry shop close by. Ideal for couples, families, solo travellers, business guests and dog-friendly stays. Public transport is nearby, though a car is recommended.

The space
We’ve partnered with Alpacas at Carsington to offer our guests 10% off an unforgettable alpaca walking experience, just a two-minute drive from the cottage. Pre-booking is essential. Guests also enjoy a 20% discount at Matlock Bath’s popular attraction, the Heights of Abraham in the Peak District.

To the rear of the cottage, a private courtyard patio garden offers comfortable outdoor seating, blooming plants, and a luxurious hot tub. For the comfort of our neighbours, hot tub use is limited to 09:00–22:00, making this cottage ideal for peaceful, relaxing stays rather than late-night parties.

This 18th-century stone-built Peak District cottage was thoughtfully renovated in 2019 and offers high-quality accommodation for up to four guests. Inside, you’ll find a cosy lounge with a wood burner, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, and two tranquil bedrooms designed for a restful night’s sleep.

At the front of the cottage, a stylish bistro set provides the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee while taking in countryside views.

Ideally located for exploring the Peak District, the cottage is a short drive from Chatsworth House, Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Buxton, Wirksworth, as well as Alton Towers and Kedleston Hall.

Guest access
Our cottage in the Peak District is dog friendly and we charge a one-off cleaning fee of £25.00 per two dogs so don’t forget to add your dog/s to your booking.

To make your stay even easier, we offer reliable dog sitting services while you’re with us - just enquire for more details.

Other things to note
The layout of these 18th century Peak District cottages when they were built were such that our neighbours at ‘Hope Cottage’ own and have access to, the fenced off area of the rear garden, and they also have a right of access down the path at the side of the house. We do ask that guests ensure that all pathways are kept clear of any obstructions.
