The "John Muir Cabin" is one of four cabins on the property of Inspirations at Big Bear Lake. The property is convienent to Big Bear Village & resturants and both ski resorts and only a couple blocks from Meadows Park and the lake. Each cabin, except the "In to the Woods" cabin(see cabin description)has one bedroom and bath with living room and small kitchenette. Also, each cabin has Satelite TV and WiFi. Note: Mountain WiFi is not as consistant as Big City WiFi.
NEW BEDS! YEAH! King size.
Inspirations has been created as a place for guests to come to enjoy and refresh in the beautiful Southern California mountains. There is also a main house and project rooms for groups.
Each cabin (and room in the main house) is decorated around a theme that Lorraine, the Inn Keeper, thinks inspire people. The yard is a fun and peaceful place to read or just sit and relax. Have established the designation of being a Hummingbbird and buttlerfly habitat.
There is lots to do in Big Bear in every season. Clean air and friendly people make Big Bear Lake the best mountain vacation spot in Southern California. So come on up and enjoy.
Please note: Starting Dec. 1, there will be a $15 cleaning fee for one night stays.
Please note: There is a two night minimum stay on three day and holiday weekends.
NO PETS ALLOWED IN THIS CABIN
The cabin is close to everything you would want in Big Bear, but the neighborhood is very quiet.
Lorraine has made it such an incredibly easy process to stay in this cabin. The cabin itself was cosy, and larger than I expected. 20 minute walk to town! Would definitely recommend!
My husband and I had an absolute blast! She responds so quickly and it was my first time in big bear so my map ended up leading us astray but we called her late and she was so sweet and helped us get to the cabins. It was so homey and it had all the household items you could need for cooking. The heater was so nice too! We had so much fun and hope one of her cabins is available next time we come up. Thanks Lorraine! :) oh and we loved the book she has others write it we forgot to write it in but we went to a restaurant suggested by someone who previously stayed there it was delish!
One of the most enjoyable stays I have ever had away from home. From the hospitality and the warm feeling of the cottage to the events that took place there. Loraine has an amazing area to feel at home when away from home, my fiance and I will be back again. :)
Had a great time in this perfect small cabin. My brother and I came to go snowboarding, and this was a perfect spot to come back to you and get some shut eye. Had everything we need.
Very cozy cabin close to Snow Summit and the center of town. Perfect for a weekend to Big Bear. Kitchen was very usable and the cabin clean. Lorraine was very responsive. Would definitely stay again.
The cabin is very cute and right in the center of town, just off the main road. It is a good size, with a separate kitchen and dining area. Pots and pans are provided, but the pot size is limited, so just be aware of that. Linens and towels are provided as well. It is just a quick drive over to Snow Summit! Lots of great restaurants close by too.
My husband David and I booked the John Muir Cabin for 3 days to celebrate our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary. The cabin looked just like the pictures on the web site and was even more detailed and cute when we entered the cabin. The cabin was decorated so well all the way from the living room, bedroom, kitchen to the bathroom. The whole cabin was nice and clean which is a plus for me. The bathroom had clean towels, plenty of wash clothes, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, the sink had hand soap in a bottle. There were even Q tips in the bathroom and plenty of toilet paper for the 3 days we were there. The kitchen was stocked to cook anything on the stove, lots of bowls, plates, silverware and soap to wash the dishes along with a kitchen towel. The cabin was like walking into your own home. We were close to all the restaurants and attractions we wanted to visit also. The Evergreen Restaurant is where we ate for our special dinner and the staff and food was fantastic!! We had cable there so we were able to watch a couple of football games in between discovering Big Bear and eating at restaurants we had never been to. David and I are going to make this our wedding anniversary vacation every year. Thanks so much Lorraine for answering all of our questions and e mails so promptly. Five Stars!!!
This place was absolutely perfect for my visit to big bear with my boyfriend. The cabin was very clean, super cute, and the perfect size for two people! We will definitely book this cabin next time we return to big bear!
We came through big bear on the thanksgiving break; Lorraine's adorable John Muir cabin did not disappoint! Located close to both the center of town and the lake, but far enough away to feel private, the cabin provided all the essentials: full kitchen, fast-working heater (hey, we're city people), a giant bed, clean bathroom and even a TV with recliner couch. Thanks for taking good care of us, Lorraine :)
The cabin was nice and cozy. Lorraine e-mailed all the instructions so check-in was a breeze. Very conveniently located near Big Bear Village in a quiet neighborhood with a McDonalds right up and around the street. Bed was large and comfy. Overall a wonderful experience, would definitely stay again.
