About This Listing
Enjoy the serenity of the mountains while having the convenience of a central location
The "Ocean Cabin" is one of three cabins on the property of Inspirations at Big Bear Lake. The property is convenient to Big Bear Village & restaurants and both ski resorts and only a couple blocks from Meadows Park and the lake. Each cabin, except the "In to the Woods" cabin(see cabin description) has one bedroom and bath with living room and small kitchenette. Each cabin has Satellite TV and WiFi. Note: Mountain WiFi is not as consistent as Big City WiFi.
Inspirations has been created as a place for guests to come to enjoy and refresh in the beautiful Southern California mountains. There is also a main house and project rooms for groups.
Each cabin (and room in the main house) is decorated around a theme that Lorraine, the Inn Keeper, thinks inspire people. The yard is a fun and peaceful place to read or just sit and relax. Have received designation of being a Humming Bird and Butterfly habitat.
There is lots to do in Big Bear in every season. Clean air and friendly people make Big Bear Lake the best mountain vacation spot in Southern California. So come on up and enjoy.
NEW BED! YEAH! King size.
Please note: The nightly fee includes up to 2 adults and 2 children. There is an additional $25 per adult per night over 2. If you are a family of 2 adults and up to 2 children, just specify 2 guests to get the right pricing and let Lorraine know about the kids.
Please note: There is a two night minimum stay on three day holiday weekends. Christmas Holiday season, Dec. 19-Jan. 5 has a three night minimum. Check in time is 2pm and check out time is 11am.
Winter Snow Policy: Consideration will be given to re-booking your stay if snow fall closes two of the three roads into Big Bear the day of your arrival. This would be available to you for the period within 90 days of your reservation.
Please note: Pets are welcome in this cabin. There is a $50 pet fee.
Aside from the cozy comfort of the cabin, there is a great outdoor seating area with an outdoor fire pit.(propane-no open fires allowed)-not available in the winter
Picnic tables and BBQ which is on the deck of the main house.(not available in winter)
Even though the property is close to everything, it remains a very quite mountain experience.
There is an inforamtion notebook with cabin and area information. Check in time is 2pm and check out is 11 am - time is flexible upon approval. I just ask that you are considerate of others, especially at night.
Please note: The kitchen is equiped with basic eating and cooking items but no food items.
The cabin was clean and lovely and quaint! We had a great experience and would come back again. Thank you so much!
We had a fantastic stay at Lorraine's cabin! The cabin is really cute and very clean. It's quite roomy for 2 yet cozy. Very quiet and peaceful; I slept like a rock and woke to birdsong and a view of the pines. The cabin is as it is described and shown in the pictures, very comfortable, great hot shower, heater works great, extra blankets, towels provided, convenient location. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, and utensils; just bring your own oil, spices, etc if you plan on cooking. I don't think you can see it in the pictures, but there is a toaster. We really enjoyed the outdoor sitting areas, watching the birds and chipmunks. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Himilayan Restaurant - great choice for vegetarians/vegans and delicious all around. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night. I definitely plan on staying here again, hopefully for a whole weekend! Because there are 3 cabins, I think it would be nice to go up with more friends, renting out 2 or 3 of the cabins, if they are available. Thank you, Lorraine!
We had a wonderful time at the Ocean Cabin! It was a great escape from Los Angeles, and Lorraine had everything we needed to just pack our backpacks and drive east.
Had a wonderful weekend at Inspirations. We booked via Airbnb and had excellent response right since we requested to book the place.
Owner, Loraine, was not in town that weekend. However, she sent us checkin guidelines 4days ahead of our stay, and was prompt to answer our question via Airbnb.
We reached Big Bear a bit early. When we messaged Loraine via Airbnb, she was kind enough to let us check in earlier since the cabin was not occupied. We had booked Ocean theme cabin. Cabin was clean and cozy, and could host family of 3-4. It had Large bed and a futon. Instructions for TV, thermostat, WiFi etc were in the welcome kit. Kitchen was fully geared with plates and utensils, though we did not use any of it. There were benches and chairs for relaxing out in the open. All cabins are surrounded by tall pine trees giving a perfect mountain experience.
Finally, this place is located in the middle of the town on Hwy18. Ample restaurants and ski slopes are equally located on both sides along Hwy18. It's walking distance to the lake. I would definitely recommend Inspirations for quick family getaway.
The cabin was indeed cozy and warm for our long weekend trip. The temperature got down below 20 degrees at night but the cabin stayed warm all night with very little heat on. The cabin had everything we needed for the stay. The area around the site was excellent for morning and afternoon strolls.
We took a drive out to Baldwin Lake area to a "Pebble Rock" area with extremely small and colorful flowers all over the landscape. This part of the trip was a surprise and the most interesting adventure of the trip (who would have thought?). We certainly will be coming back.
Lorraine is very kind even she wasn't there when we visited. We communicated over the phone and she made sure everything is taken care before check-in. We had a pleasant time here. Enjoyed fresh air and silence in the wood. Definitely gonna re-visit soon.

About the Host, Lorraine
Together with my son and the rest of family, we created Inspirations at Big Bear Lake. It has been a dream of mine for many years to create a place where groups can come to refresh and enjoy spending time immersed in their creative passion.
The property has a main house and project room for groups but also came with the three cabins. I have been able to use all the talents and activities that I love creating a great place. Everything about this project was fun because I love all types of crafts, decorating, cooking and meeting new people.
I have two grown children who have married wonderful people and provided me with four fabulous Grandchildren. I always enjoy having them up to Big Bear when there are no guests in the house.
I have also been in the travel business for over 25 years and love cruising and other types of travel. I have always felt that traveling, visiting new areas and meeting the locals helps us to be a more tolerate person.
I would love to have you come up and enjoy this with me.
