Don't feed the monkeys!
We had perfect 2 days in Manuel Antonio. The Apartment was as shown in the pics, the view just perfect. Organisation is very professional.
As advertised, the luna tica apartment has a beautiful view. Upon booking Thomas will send you plenty of information and guide you along the way, he answered all of my questions and concerns until my arrival. On another note, the “hill” that you’ll need to climb down to get to the apartment and up to get out, is extremely steep. If you are traveling with children, elderly, or anyone who is not physically fit, I by no means recommend the listing. Otherwise, enjoy the view!
Our stay at the Luna Tuca studio could not have been more perfect. My review simply echoes so many that I read prior to booking. Thomas is a great communicator and made everything simple and direct. The view is exactly as advertised and has just the right mix of function combined with rustic Tico charm. The highlight of our stay was Thomas's assistant, Angie. She was warm attentive and very very efficient. She booked 6 activities for us, many taking place on the same day. Each time she called us and the venue to make sure we were completely satisfied.
On our way home we found out that the activities and venues she chose were remarkably superior to many others and that reinforced our suspicions that these folks run a first class hospitality business.
Although every activity scheduled was fantastic, one experience stood out and that was PRO White Water Rafting in Quepos. The owner Philipe and his safety manager, Jonathan gave us a once in a lifetime Mountain Canyon Rafting Experience. We felt like family and it was a bargain to boot. Reviews are not my thing but they deserve the shout out. Consider yourself lucky if it's available when you're ready to Visit Manual Antonio.
The studio was accurately described and met our needs on our 3 day stay in Manuel Antonio. Thomas was very helpful and exceeded our expectations as a host. The location was probably the highlight of the stay, as there are several great restaurants within a 10 minute walk, and the park and beaches are within a 20 minute walk. There is a public bus (for 315 colones - about 60 cents) going to the park or into Quepos, if that's your thing. As others noted, the driveway is very steep but it's consistent with other driveways and the roads in MA. It's part of the experience, while navigating this beautiful town. We didn't spend much time in the units but I will say the view is great.
One word of caution; there is no AC and the unit is not equipped with ceiling fans. When we were there, it was very hot (70s at night). If you prefer a cool sleeping environment, this may not be the place for you.
Overall, a very good experience and we're happy with our choice.
LunaTica is a charming apartment nestled in the mountains of Manuel Antonio. The Listing description is bang on about everything. Beautiful ocean views and close to a lot of restaurants and shops. Be ready to walk up a very steep Hill to get to the main road (pack ligjtly) but the views are well worth it. For only 315 Colones you can take the public bus into town or the beach.
Thomas and Angie were responsive and were communicating well to make sure they were at the property when we arrived to drop off our key. Very helpful brochures and assistance with booking excursions. They offered a lot of things that could make your stay even more comfortable like in room meals and massages. It was great.
The studio was beautiful--gorgeous views, very clean, monkeys and birds all around! Unfortunately, we had a bit of a mishap and had to leave early due to a medical emergency. Thomas was unbelievably kind and helpful and refunded us for the nights we could not stay. So sad we were not able to stay longer.
We had a very relaxing stay at Thomas' Luna Tica apartment this December. The accommodation felt private, safe and secure and the view from the upstairs balcony was exceptional - swaying hammocks, roaming monkeys and spectacular sunsets. Thomas very kindly picked us up from the airport in Quepos and was super helpful in providing detailed info about the area, as well as recommended tours and activities around Manuel Antonio.
The studio is located in the better end of town, but it's worth noting that there is a very steep driveway down to the property which would not be appropriate for anyone who has difficulty with stairs / hills etc. - even cars will struggle with this descent.
During our stay we experienced a hiccup with the town water pipes which left everyone without running water for a day. Thomas was helpful during this period, providing us with updates to keep us in the loop. When the water does run, however, it's a great bonus that you can safely drink it from the taps!
There are many excellent restaurants just a short walk away from the studio which is very convenient since the kitchenette in the property is rather small and limited. I can highly recommend the guided tour of the national park where, if you're lucky, you'll see fabulous sloths like we did! Furthermore, Manuel Antonio beach, nestled deep inside the park, has to be one of the most stunning beaches I have seen.
Overall, a lovely recommendation for a relaxing studio in a gorgeous part of Costa Rica.

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
