We have the 4th and 5th floor of a 3BR castle walk up in the heart of Sugar Hill (152nd and St Nicholas). We are two blocks from the Dance Theatre of Harlem, two blocks from authentic cheap Spanish/S. American Food, and a stone's throw from Yankee Stadium. We have two shared living rooms (one on each floor), two bathrooms (one per floor), a shared kitchen, and on the fourth floor we have two fully furnished bedrooms available. On the fifth floor we have a master bedroom with two queen beds in it. The apartment has recently been refinished. We have our own private small roofdeck (great for summer bbqs), and there is a washer and dryer inside the apartment. Full Internet wireless access, Satellite dish TV available en suite, plenty of street or lot parking available across the street. And we have two cuddly guard cats that also live in the house. We are easy going people and looking for respectful travellers who will add to the good energy in the house!
Also there are three bedrooms available $69, $78 and $105 respectively.

We love getting to know people from all over the world and hopefully discovering more friends and finding destinations to visit on the list of places to go.
The bright little quiet pocket of Harlem where we live is known as Sugar Hill. This area has a rich cultural history and was known as the home to many luminaries During the Harlem Renaissance. The architecture, parks, and surrounding topography make for very nice urban hill walks in Manhattan (something most never expect). The people are salt of the earth New Yorkers and genuinely care about the neighborhood. It's a wonderful place to visit/live.
Yes the A,C,B, & D are within 5min walk. Express to 42nd St. Port Authority 18mins. Greenwich village 23mins. Busses to the Bronx and upper manhattan nearby. There is alternate side parking out front. And parking lots nearby. Parking is available at differing periods of the day.
I stayed with Carlin for the month of January while doing an away rotation for medical school. It was a perfect place for me where I felt welcome and safe. The two kitties were so much fun to have around! Carlin is a lovely person who went out of his way to make sure I was settled and had what I needed. I was very comfortable in the downstairs room with the fireplace. Overall I had an awesome month in New York, and made a good friend to boot! I'll definitely be staying with Carlin again on future trips to New York!
Carlins home is a very good place to stay we thought that we were in our own home.
Its close to the city with a perfect contact to the subway.
Even his friends and family were friendly. We had a good time at Carlins house with a lot of fun. He also knows a lot of places to go. He is a good guide if you want to know something about NYC.
When we arrived, Carlin couldn't be there, but his friend Thea welcomed us. She was very nice and told us some good places to eat or to shop. Carlin arrived two days before the end of our stay. Too bad, we didn't have more time to get to know each other, because he was really kind and made us feel at home. He said that he'd like to go to a nice bar with us, but unfortunately there was not enogh time. We could use the full kitchen which is nice if you don't want to go to the restaurant every day. If we'll visit New York again, we'd like to stay at Carlins home again.
I really felt like I was in my home! Carlin is a very nice person who loves to meet people from different places. The listing description is very accurate, the place is really REALLY good, very comfortable. The neighborhood is pretty good, with a lot of places to eat and hang out. Next time I go to New York City, that will be definitely the place I'll stay. I highly recommend!
This place is conveniently located just two blocks from the nearest subway, in the Bronx. The house itself is very cozy, and it was pleasant having two cats to play around with, but note that it's on the fourth floor with lots of stairs to climb. Besides that, the room was very spacious (2 beds, actually) and everything was great. Finding street parking was not too much of a hassle (parked across the road), but there is no actually private parking for this residence itself. Though we never got to meet Carlin face to face, he was prompt with answering questions via text and very helpful!
It is true that Carlin is a phenomenal host. The moment you enter the place , you feel a really warm welcome and you feel like you're at home. We slept well during the whole duration of our stay , which might be due to the "warm" atmosphere of his place . We got along really well with Carlin and we will always remember our stay at this place .
It was realy great! I sought a lot bad things about Harlem, and worried when come to Carlin. But Harlem is nice, clean and friendly place. The flat located not far from subway it's very comfortably! Carlin very friendly and charming!) thanks about all

Good old fashioned hospitality goes a long way and that's what you get when you come into our place. We are mindful, tidy, and fun hosts that look for adventure everywhere in the city. We've got loads of stories, recommendations, and insights that will definitely enrich your experience in NYC. Our place is a home, it's our quiet refuge in the midst of this sprawling metropolis, and we treat it with that kind of respect. It's wonderfully serene at night and the soft vibrato of the subway is only thing that reminds me I'm still in the city. It's really quite peaceful actually.
Also we cook Sunday night dinners. Our friends come over for some music, conversations, and maybe even a poem or a song or two. So if you book I'd include a Sunday in there. And I'm not an exercise instructor by trade; just by hobby!
