Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Jacqui and Carlin are so nice and welcoming hosts, it was a great pleasure to meet them. Their home is well equipped, spacious and cozy and made me feel at home for four weeks. I felt lucky to meet their wonderful friends and we had a lot of fun.
Carlin knows plenty of good places to eat yummy food and is always ready to provide his guests with any kind of helpful hints. The house is full of hospitality and good energy and even the two cats are very nice and relaxed.
The apartment is located in a renovated old Landmark-Building, reminding of the fascinating history of Sugar Hill. The terrace is spacious (email hidden) to have a barbecue or simply to sit at night and listen to the distinctive sounds of this incredible city.
It takes only a few minutes to local and express subway trains and I had no problem to reach every corner of the city in an appropriate time. I felt also always safe, day and night and perceived the neighbourhood as lively and friendly.
    Hope to come back soon.

  • Carlin and her lovely wife Jacqui were really nice hosts. From the first day we arrived, they made us feel like we were visiting our good old friends and their family.
Their Sugar Hill Castle is warm, cozy and welcoming and if you feel like you want to experience a nice stay at Harlem, do choose Carlin's and Jacqui's sunny Sugar Hill Castle!
You really were great, guys! :)

  • Jackie and Carlin were wonderful hosts. Their home is an amazing place, on the top floor of a nice, old building, totally fixed up and renovated. The room is spacious, the bathroom is clean, the kitchen is fully available and there is a lovely terrace for enjoying the evening. Carlin loves to share time and wine with his guests. The neighborhood is quiet, there are two subway stations very close (5 blocks downtown, A/C; 3 blocks uptown, C). What more? Thank you guys, hope to see you next time in NYC.

  • I had a great time with them! They are warm and welcoming. One night a past couple that stayed before came, Carlin and I cooked the meal together and share stories. It was a great experience making my stay that much more comfortable.

  • Jacqui and Carlin have set-(email hidden) to share with others - both physical space and emotional space. They seem to really enjoy hosting travelers. They put in the effort to get to know me and engage with me despite their busy schedules. I had a great stay with Jacqui and Carlin.

Good old fashioned hospitality goes a long way and that's what you get when you come into our place. We are mindful, tidy, and fun hosts that look for adventure everywhere in the city. We've got loads of stories, recommendations, and insights that will definitely enrich your experience in NYC. Our place is a home, it's our quiet refuge in the midst of this sprawling metropolis, and we treat it with that kind of respect. It's wonderfully serene at night and the soft vibrato of the subway is only thing that reminds me I'm still in the city. It's really quite peaceful actually. Also we cook Sunday night dinners. Our friends come over for some music, conversations, and maybe even a poem or a song or two. So if you book I'd include a Sunday in there. And I'm not an exercise instructor by trade; just by hobby!
