Andres was a great host!
He picked us up at the bus station, walked us to his place, and helped us get settled into our room. He even let us move some beds around to accommodate. He is quite entertaining and has endless suggestions for the area as he has lived there for years. No a/c but a fan was provided and it worked out fine. It's just a hot city in general!
His place is quite homey and we cooked breakfast each morning and ate it in the backyard area. Great place to stay to check out Liberia or head to one of the national parks. Just remember, Rincon is closed Mondays!
Excelent. William is incredibly helpful and a fantastic host. His place is easy to find and he even offered to pick us up. Couldn't have hoped for anything better, especially considering the amazing price point. Hope to visit him again soon!
I would have to say, my stay with Andreas ( there was not a William, and it is not the guy from the picture) was different. The place could have easily been much cleaner, and although it was a last minute booking (same day), if the place is not ready in terms of cleanliness it shouldn't be posted as available. Be careful with the request to pay off line and the story that goes with it. Besides these appartment related matters and the sticky heat and bugs from the much needed open window (no ac) Andreas was a great host, cooked a delicious simple breakfast and dinner, he helped me carry my heavy luggage from the bus stop, and gave me a tour of town. We had some great philosophical conversations for the night that i spent there. I could definitely hang out and chat again with Andreas, but would sleep somewhere a bit cleaner and cooler if the budget allows.
Hermano,. you did give me exactly 38 minutes to fix the house but if you recall, I told you that we had a party last night. Aaand when we do party hermano, the house looks after, like a battlefield from WWI. By the way, I smuggled a pea under your mattress and you got no backache. So you're not a princess, you're a wedding photographer. And if those guys are bitten by mosquitoes, the mosquitoes get this eye-for-eye, tooth-for-tooth punishment. Oh,..!!! and the spray left to your bed, which you used as mouthwash, that was the mosquito spray .............
Nice neighborhood. Great location. Outstanding host. Andreas met me at the bus stop and escorted me to his flat. He provided an overview of the area and its attractions, even arranging transport to Rincon de la Viejo National Park. We shared dinner at a local bar one night, and cooked at the flat the second night. Though the flat is simple, it is adequate. The bed is comfortable. The flat could, however, be a little more tidy and clean. Would definitely stay again.
My experience was strange and unusual. It was strange because I was in a foreign country and it was unusual because I was completely out of my boring comfort zone and exposed to new and exciting things. Yes, it was incredibly hot (good for the skin!). You are not going to believe how much your life will change for the better, because not only is Liberia an amazing town, but you get a taste of Switzerland with Andres as a host. It is an all around international experience.
As far as the rooming goes, the house has 3 sizely rooms. The houses were created back in the day to work with the warm weather. The air goes in one end and comes out the other. Kind of like people!
I give this place 4 stars for the food, the location (to beaches, volcanoes, waterfalls), and of course, the one and only Andres.
Ciao, Besos, and Safe Travels,
Our host was very welcoming. He gave us advice and made us breakfast on the mornings our schedules coincided. Otherwise we were able to use the kitchen as we pleased. This was a good location in Liberia. About a fifteen minute walk from the bus station and right by central park. Our room was private and had fans which were needed since it is super hot here. Thanks again.
About the Host, Andrés
As CEO of a Urban Mining Company and soon as responsible of more than 80 employees, I have to think about cultural exchange during holidays, We would like to see and to experience as much as possible and relaxing too while our holidays.
This is why I believe, that AirB&B is a excellent community. It is world wide, it is on a private level and it is personally. The best way to detect cultures. The people here in Guanacaste, they have the wish, also to travel in other countries.
And the AirBnB network seems, to serve this need on a very friendly mood.
We are happy to welcome all AirB&B members to Liberia all over the world.
