Our host was not WIlliam but Andres, a Swiss transplant who has been living in costa rica for 2 years. He was very welcoming and showed us all the local stuff which we really enjoyed!!! Upon meeting us at the bus station (after we asked a local to borrow their phone to call him and let him know we were there...) he carried my luggage which was not light and we walked about a mile to his flat....He also gave us lots of Pipas or cold fresh Coconuts and the local limonade, he also took us to a nice bar for a wonderful local dinner which was amazing. The next morning he made us breakfast. We just stayed with him before we met our tour group the next day and before we left he gave us nice directions to the local swimming spot where we got to see the more real side of local Costa Rican life which my new husband really appreciated!!! Overall Highly reccomended!!
Andreas is such a character! He went for me to the station just as I arrived and carefully taught me how to move around. Later, he explained me the activities which I could do based on my schedule and helped me arrange them between interesting conversations. In the morning he arranged me breakfast and helped me with the food that I was going to need on my visit to Rincon de la Vieja. Awesome cook BTW. He really makes you feel like friends/family.
I fully enjoyed the stay at this house and if I ever go back, I don't have to think twice, I know where I'll be staying.
For me traveling is gaining experiences with people and places. This has been one of the highlights of my trip.
So my experience with Andreas was...Indredible to say the least. He came to get me personally at the airport upon my arrival and was there the second i stepped foot outside the airport! He also has a lot of knowledge with the area and what he says and recommends I suggest you do without even thinking twice! Loved my stay and he helped me A LOT with my spanish and how to get a car, spanish classes and much more. Go and stay with Andreas, you'll save money and get a taste of what the local life is here. Breakfast is amazing, salads are very good! Amazing cook also. So what you guys waiting for??!
After a long travel day to reach CR, Andreas made things easy. He was on the street in seconds to greet me when I got to his neighborhood, which is a 5 minute walk to the downtown but also very quiet. Easy to get money changed and some groceries. Andreas and his girlfriend super-helpful with all this.
Such friendly hosts! Thought I would go right to sleep after traveling but stayed up until 1 am talking and playing word games (fun when it's cross-cultural!) with the hosts and their friends.
You are sharing Andreas's house, but couldn't have felt more welcome. Was fed midnight snacks upon arrival and a great breakfast in the morning. Andreas said to call if any travel problems, he would help out.
Andres was a very generous and attentive host and yes, served an excellent, inspired, breakfast to get us ready for the day ahead. He also met us at the airport in the evening, which was very appreciated after a 14-some hour transit on a first trip to Costa Rica. Merci Andres!
Great place to stay! Andres has a wealth of information of the area. He also makes the best food. Seriously, his breakfast hit the spot with fruit salad and irresistible eggs. Very convenient with an instant booking and close to anything you need.
About the Host, William
As CEO of a Urban Mining Company and soon as responsible of more than 80 employees, I have to think about cultural exchange during holidays, We would like to see and to experience as much as possible and relaxing too while our holidays.
This is why I believe, that AirB&B is a excellent community. It is world wide, it is on a private level and it is personally. The best way to detect cultures. The people here in Guanacaste, they have the wish, also to travel in other countries.
And the AirBnB network seems, to serve this need on a very friendly mood.
We are happy to welcome all AirB&B members to Liberia all over the world.
