  • We had a lovely stay at Laurel Bank, despite the winter rain! Everywhere was very clean, and the breakfast was great. Plus, Margarent and her husband are very friendly and provided excellent customer service throughout our stay.

  • Margo and Rodney are very nice and helpful; they do everything to make you feel comfortable. They provide excellent and delicious breakfast the way you like it to be like in the most expensive restaurants. The apartment is clean and has a nice bed. 15 minutes to the center and 20 minutes to the lake. Recommended!

Officially I am an OAP since I had my 60th birthday in 2008! However I am young at heart and still work with my husband running Laurel Bank B&B in Keswick, Cumbria, the heart of the English Lake District. We have worked together in the hospitality business for more than thirty years and hope to retire in the not too distant future! (Our B&B is for sale!) In the meantime we continue to welcome visitors from all over the world and offer accommodation to suit singles, couples, families and groups. We operate from February to December and over the New Year period. I celebrated my 65th birthday in December 2012 - OAP again!! My life motto is my glass is half full not half empty!! My profile picture was taken at a party for Rodney's 60th birthday in France. Our lovely son is not in the picture (someone had to be the photographer) our daughter Kathryn on the right, daughter-in-law Antonia on the left and grandchildren Jonah and Auriel complete the picture . We have been in the hospitality business for 35 years and are still learning!! We are happy to welcome visitors from all over the world and have made many new friends over the years. We hope you like what you see and choose our B&B to stay.
