The space
The yard borders the New River Gorge National Park! 0.2 miles (less than a minute) from US-19. Less than a mile from the New River Gorge Bridge, Canyon Rim Visitors Center, and Adventures on the Gorge.

Accessibility features include: patio; flat, graveled parking; 36” wide step-free main entry door; a queen room with wide clearance; a roll-in shower; accessible-height toilet with grab-bar; roll-up bathroom sink; grab bars in both upstairs showers. The seated lift on the interior stairs is locked - message me for the key.

Yards offer space for games, a campfire area, and a park-style charcoal grill. Roasting sticks and some grill supplies provided. Buy firewood locally or from us. *Don't climb the old chimneys; don't open field gates. Guests must clean campfire and grill items after use: scrape the grill and remove the debris and ash into the provided buckets.

The patio offers a hot tub (emptied and sanitized after every check-out) and a table with seating for 4 overlooking a sloped yard and the forest edge adjoining the New River Gorge National Park. Patio chair cushions in the deck box; put them back when not in use.

Keyless entry is on both ground floor doors. Central air and heat, nightlights, ceiling fans upstairs, and a plush blanket in each bedroom when you want a little extra snuggle in your cozy. All bedding is laundered after every check-out. *Don’t shelf used blankets or pillows.

The ground floor stays cool year-round and offers 2 queen bedrooms, the accessible bathroom, a coat closet, game room with pool table, foosball, mini fridge, grand game table, recliner sofas, board games, Roku TV, Blu-Ray/DVD player, and area information and maps. *Game table and chairs aren’t to be treated as toys.

Upstairs, you'll find a charging station, area things-to-do information, our Guest Book with previous guest recommendations, printed Guidebook including house and property information, a king suite with an en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom with two beds, a bathroom, kitchen, dining area with seating for 8, comfy single recliners with a great view, stocked laundry closet, and 2 balconies: one views the forest, meadow and sky and is great for wildlife watching and stargazing; and one views the road... great for counting cars.

Bathroom amenities include linens, hairdryer, make-up remover, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, hand soap, moisturizer, swabs, and feminine hygiene products.

The kitchen has appliances, wares, essentials and amenities to get you started, as well as space for your things. City water on tap. Look in all the doors and drawers to find useful items, cleaning supplies, etc.

A Pack n Play with a pad cover and two sheets are stowed away in the twin room closet with a high chair, baby gate and other items. Guests must keep these items clean and disinfected after use. We’ll pack them away after they’re dry, and we’ll launder the sheets and pad.

Pets: We welcome well behaved dogs (2 max) with their responsible pet-people who: keep them off beds, furniture, linens; tidy after them indoors and outdoors, and do other awesome-pet-people things. Be aware: a horse and donkey live in the adjacent fields, and the close proximity to the road, highway, and thousands of acres of wilderness. Leash laws are in effect to protect your loved ones.

Be sure to look through all the photos in this listing.

Graveled parking fits 6 vehicles. Don’t park or drive on the grass - you will spin/dig holes trying to get out.

The Chickadee Cabin is named for the bird. Social, curious and always on the move, these little guys are often seen before they're heard. With black caps and white cheeks, watch for them at the forest edge year-round.
