Parking is free, with space for 4 vehicles. Do not park on the grass.

Cell service is available; AT&T seems to have the best coverage in the area. Roku TV, WiFi, and a charging station are provided. Bring your own devices and connection cords (HDMI, USB, Ethernet, component, Bluetooth, game consoles, etc). Roku TV instructions are in the printed Guidebook. An Internet speed test: 49.4 Mpbs download; 10.3 Mpbs upload - fast and should handle multiple devices.

Key code entry on the ground floor patio doors, where you'll find the hot tub (cleaned after every check-out), a table and seating for 4, overlooking a sloped yard and the forest edge adjoining the New River Gorge National Park.

Accessible features include: well-lit parking area to patio, flat and graveled; the main entry door is step-free and at least 36" wide; a downstairs queen room with wide clearance and entry; the downstairs bathroom has a roll-in shower, accessible-height toilet with grab-bar, and roll-up sink; a seat lift is provided on the interior staircase.

Upon entering the main ground floor door, you'll see the accessible queen room on your right, and just ahead is a coat closet with an iron and ironing board and other items. Moving forward you'll enter the game room with a billiards table, game table with seating for 4, a recliner sofa and couch, board games, the Roku TV and a Blu-Ray/DVD player, and area information and maps.

The cabin has central air and heat, nightlights, ceiling fans in the upstairs rooms, and area things-to-do maps and information.

All bedrooms have a chest, dresser, or closet, night stand, mirror, bed linens, pillows, blankets, and a plush blanket set aside for getting extra cozy. All bedding is laundered after every check-out - do not reshelve used blankets.

2 queen rooms downstairs. 1 king room upstairs. 1 twin room upstairs (with two twin beds).

1 bathroom downstairs; 2 bathrooms upstairs. Each bathroom has bath linens, a hairdryer, make-up remover, shampoo, body wash and moisturizer.

Up the staircase, enter the family room with 2 recliner chairs. Get comfortable and love the window view. You'll find my Guidebook, a USB charging station, and our guest book - leave a note for us to adore and other guests to enjoy... where are you from? what was your favorite part of your trip? what do you recommend to other guests?

Two balconies: 1 with fantastic views of the forest, meadows and sky; and 1 faces the road... great for counting cars.

The dining room table seats 8. The laundry closet has a washer and dryer, detergent and dryer sheets.

The king room includes a writing table/work station and bathroom.

The twin room provides 2 twin beds with electric outlets in the headboard for easy charging. The beds can be converted into a king bed if you ask us in advance.

The kitchen has appliances, all the wares, amenities and essentials to get you started, and ample cabinet and counter space. You'll find a coffee drip pot and coffee pod brewers, tea kettle, Maxwell House ground, sugar and creamer (bring your own pods and favorite creamer). Clean city water on tap and the freezer has an ice maker. Emergency items (sewing, first aid, flashlight) can be found in the first kitchen cabinet on the left.

We only welcome well behaved dogs with their responsible pet-people who keep them off beds and furniture, tidy after them indoors, pick up after them in the yard, and do other awesome-pet-people things. If you're bringing your dog, you must indicate so in your reservation or with a message, and clean up after it as though it was never there.

Enjoy the spacious yards. We've provided a stone campfire ring, roasting sticks, and a park-style grill. Buy firewood locally or from us. Bring your camp chairs and yard games. *Do Not climb the old chimney.

The Chickadee Cabin is named after the chickadee bird. Social, curious and always on the move, these little guys are often seen before they're heard. With black caps and white cheeks, watch for them at the forests edge all year-round.

*Do Not enter the attic - there is no floor.

Guest access
You have access to the entire cabin, except the unfinished attic and a locked supply storage closet.

Other things to note
Guest Book: Leave a note for us to adore and for future guests to enjoy! Mention where you’re from, your favorite part of your trip, and anything you recommend to other guests to try while they visit. Find the Guest Book in the upstairs family room.

Do not cross barbed wire fences or open gates that are closed. A horse named Sue and a donkey named Romeo are in adjacent fields. They aren't ours. Sue and Romeo are usually really friendly; if you see them, treat them with careful and gentle respect.

Check-out Instructions are here in the House Manual and on the refrigerator and in the printed Guidebook.

Personal Chef, Rezan (pronounce ray-zon), offers personalized catered meals for individuals and large groups. Specializing in dietary needs, she works closely with you to customize menus and accommodate budgets. Contact Rezan in advance for a quote and availability: ‭304-640-3585‬.

A campfire grill grate and roasting sticks are provided - guest must clean and rehang them after use.

A Park-style Grill was added in April 2021. Cleaning the grill is the guest’s responsibility.
To use the grill you'll need: newspaper or starting cubes, starter/accelerant, matches or lighter, grilling oil, aluminum grilling foil, and your choice of hardwood lump or charcoal.
A bristle-free scraper, spatula, fork, tongs, and an ash bucket are provided.
Scrape the grill grate immediately after removing your food.
After the charcoal and grill are cold (sometimes up to 48 hours after use), scrape the grill grate clean and remove the debris and ash from the grill into the provided bucket. Place the bucket of ash and debris on the concrete next to the grill.

You'll find detailed information in the printed Guidebook in the cabin.
