  • Our stay with Beatrice was amazing! Not only are her farm and gardens beautiful but Beatrice herself is a wonderful, gracious host and so pleasant to chat with. We stayed with her after having done a lot of driving and exploring in other parts of Tuscany and the west coast of Italy and were so happy to come to this gem of a place in the country.

The private apartment is spotless, tastefully decorated and comfortable. It has a great little kitchen that supplies you with anything you would need for an extended stay, and a super comfortable bed that makes it hard to get up in the morning. But get up we did, and took a few morning runs in the country side, accompanied by Beatrice's dog Katie (and even one of her bold cats). The land here is breathtaking and you could run for a while without seeing a car - maybe just a farmer herding sheep or something. Yet, when you do jump in the car (which one definitely needs in Tuscany) you'd arrive in Sorano or Pitigliano in less than 30 minutes. Thus: this farm has the perfect combination of being remote without being inconvenient.

I would absolutely return to visit Beatrice the next time I'm in Italy. Staying with her was one of the highlights of my time in Italy.

    Response from Beatrice:

Thank you !! I was so happy to have you here, what a pity it was for such a short time. Hope to see you again one day. All the best to you and Ashley, Beatrice

  • A truly peaceful and beautiful part of the world. Beatrice's apartment was clean and well furnished with everything you would need for a self-catering stay. It had a large, comfortable bed with shutters outside...perfect for a good lie-in! Beatrice made us feel really welcome, with homemade muffins on our arrival. The surrounding area was geographically stunning - ancient hill top villages and towns - plenty to explore. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday. Thank you Beatrice. Highly recommended for a rural get-away.

  • We absolutely loved staying here. It was a perfect place for us to spend the long Easter weekend. We were traveling with our dog and he really got a kick out of all the sweet farm animals thats were so friendly. We were greeted so warmly by Beatrice, who gave us some lovely suggestions on where to explore and eat in the area. She also made us an Easter cake and cookies! And if that wasn't sweet enough, on Easter morning we had fresh eggs waiting for us on the doorstep. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to cook a meal, and the apartment was so cozy with the little fireplace. We would love to come back here on a future road trip.

    Grazie :-)

  • You must stay here! We fell in love with Beatrice and her family. Each morning we woke up to kittens at our door, Katie (the farm pup), and a beautiful frosty country sunrise. The apartment is picturesque, furnished with cozy furniture, the comfiest of beds, and everything you could possibly need to cook a full meal. Beatrice spoiled us with homemade blueberry muffins, and her wealth of knowledge of the surrounding communities. Podere Argo is central to all the beautiful towns worth exploring- Saturnia, Pitigliano, Sorano etc. The farm was our absolute favorite stop on our month long tour through Europe!! If you're looking for a relaxing retreat in a pristine environment, you've found the right place. We can't wait to return!

  • We LOVED Podere Argo. It was perfect for us - we only wish we could have stayed longer! The weather didn't permit us to enjoy the little terrace much, but we certainly did appreciate the stove. We had our female labrador with us, and she got along just fine with Katie (the host dog) and all the little kittens running around. Beatrice and her husband were incredibly hospitable and gave us excellent advice on archeological site to see in the area. We will definitely be returning when we have more than just one weekend!

  • We had a fantastic four night stay in this cozy apartment near Sorano. The location was an ideal home base for visiting the hot spring pool in Saturnia, the beautiful town of Pitigliano as well as doing a little wine tasting in Maremma, Montalcino and Montepulciano. We also took a driving tour of the Monte Argentario area with the gorgeous towns of Porto Santa Stefano, Porto Ercole and Orbatello. We would have visited the cheese producer a few miles away from the farm where we stayed but we had already purchased a bit of cheese in Pitigliano.
The free-standing apartment was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. The evenings were cool and there was a romantic little stove in the living area that kept everything quite warm in the evenings and early mornings. The water in the shower was nice and hot and there was plenty of it We had no problems finding the apartment with GPS and our communication with Beatrice was easy as her English is very good. She has wonderful recommendations on things to do around the Maremma. We were able to squeeze some of them into our plans and enjoyed them all! If you come in October and know anything at all about mushrooms, maybe you can go porcini hunting. They were evident all over!
I will plan to stay here again should I return to Italy and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the middle and lower Tuscan region. Five stars ,two thumbs up and 100 pts.!!!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the farm. I can't remember sleeping so soundly anywhere else as it was so peaceful and quiet. The apartment had everything we needed and the location was great. You could drive to some beautiful Tuscan towns like Pienza, Montepulciano, the coast was an hour or so away and the thermal springs we're an easy drive and must visit. The animals on the farm were so sweet and it was very hard to say goodbye. We had a great laugh watching the kittens pounce around trying to catch grasshoppers and Katie and Peggy the dogs we're so much fun. Would definitely stay again

  • Podere Argo is the perfect place to spend some relaxing time in the wonderful Tuscany countryside.
It's just few kilometres from a lot of etruscan sites, two of "the most beautiful villages in Italy", Saturnia Thermal Spa and also the magical Orvieto.
The house is warm and perfectly renovated with stylish but also ecological materials and furniture, in fascinating colours.
Home made biscuits, all sort of the, infusion mugs, fresh fruits, lots of guides and a really well equiped kitchen are just a little part of what Argo will offer you.
Beatrice is wonderful and her smile will enchant you. She is really kind and helpful. Her pets are nice, joyful and relaxed as she.

Hello my name is Beatrice. I was born in Milan where I studied Philosophy and Egyptology. I then moved to Paris to continue my studies on hieroglyphic writing. I travelled a lot and worked abroad: England, Spain and of course Egypt !! But when my 2 daughters were born: Viola and Ambra I decided to go and live in the beautiful Maremma countryside. I now run a small Organic Farm where I make honey and cultivate beans and lavander. I try to eat mostly what I myself produce. I love wild nature, gardening, animals (I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 3 hens and lots of bees). I love to go for long walks, swim in the hot waters of Sorano and Saturnia Spas, in the Bolsena Lake, or the Argentario sea !!
