The house of Beatrice is exceptional. Located in the middle of the countryside surrounded by plenty of nature with a beautiful orchard and a lavanda plantation. Also she makes his own lavanda organical cosmetics. The appartment is quite big and very beautiful.
Beatrice was very kind and warm with us, she gave us some fresh vegetables and good advices about what to visit and do.
We will totally recommend this place. If you want to relax this is the perfect place!
Prior to booking a stay with Beatrice, my wife and I initially wanted to go to all the major cities and hit all the regular tourist spots. After hearing the wonderful experience our friends had here at Beatrice's farm, Podere Argo, we decided to spend our entire vacation here, renting a car and driving around beautiful Tuscany. This was our first time using Airbnb, our first time in Europe and the first time in Italy but it was a gamble that paid off handsomely. Our stay at Podere Argo has been nothing short of spectacular - Beatrice is such a generous and accommodating host who really goes out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home, so much so that it felt like we were staying with family instead of renting. She shared with us the fruit of her land - from free range eggs, freshly harvested zucchini and cherries and lettuce I saw her taking from the ground. More than that, she also shared her passion for lavender and farming, her cooking, her experience, culture and her beautiful family with us. She gave us many useful recommendations on all the beautiful places to visit in Tuscany, including the medieval and Etruscan historical towns, excellent Termes or hot springs, food places and many other sights that we would have missed if we didn't have her to guide us. Beatrice speaks perfect English, something that is a really rare commodity in this part of Italy, and was very helpful with translating for us and making all kinds of calls and reservations.
This however is still a farm and not the Four Seasons, so do expect bugs and blackouts occasionally. It's also VERY quiet and dark at night, and wifi is only available in the host's home or just outside so we slept a little earlier some nights :) The house we stayed in was clean, homely and comfortable, with a good kitchen equipped with almost everything you need to feed yourself. Tuscany has much better and cheaper fresh food than most places so do yourself a favor and try to cook if you can. Note that supermarkets can require some driving to and are closed on Sunday afternoon. Also, make the most of the region by visiting the smaller towns where there are fewer crowds and much more heritage - places like Florence and Rome are over-crowded, dirty and full of tired tourist traps - we spent a day in a large city and hated it and immediately went back to visiting small towns like Sorano, Pitigliano, Orvieto, Radicofani etc. (all at Beatrice's recommendation).
Thank you Beatrice and family for making our Tuscan holiday a special and memorable one. We miss you and your family and cats and ducks and chickens already, and we hope to come back again sometime! God bless!
Podere Argo was such a welcomed relief after staying in a busy, Florence apartment. Beatrice and her wonderful family were extremely warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Podere Argo was so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was simple, clean, and perfect for part of our honeymoon tour around Italy. The lavender shampoo, body wash, and essential oils that Beatrice made were absolutely divine! Would highly recommend this incredible place to all of my friends and family!
Our stay at Podere Argo totally fullfilled our expectations.
We were welcomed with a big smile of Beatrice and immediately felt at ease. The images perfecly reflect the reality so no cheating on the beautifull environment and clean and comfortable appartment.
Beatrice and her husband are very kind hosts with great hospitality. They invited us for a drink in their home and gave us a lot of advise about the nice things to visit in the surroundings of Sorano. We didn't feel any hesitation knocking at their door with any question we had.
Our little boy (3y) had a great time in the garden, wandering around, playing with the kittens and feeding the chickens.
Beatrice showed us around and talked with enthousiasm about her passion for synergetic gardening and bee-keeping. She also has wonderfull biological lavenderproducts.
For all these reasons we warmly recommend this peacefull place and hope to have the occasion to come back one day.
I highly recommend this place! The apartment by Beatrice was a dream come true for my wife and I. We wanted a quiet Tuscany country side with lots of greenery, animals, farms and nature, and Beatrice airbnb apartment fulfilled it! The apartment is well furnished with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Beatrice was kind and invited us to dinner with her family we arrived at check-in late, without planning for dinner. We learned so much about honey making, organic farming and baking. This was a great holiday for us!
Dear Beatrice & family,
We want to thank you very much for your hospitality. We enjoyed staying in the nice little house with the vieuw at the hills and the warm pallet stove and nice kitchen, bed and showerfacility. We felt at home the moment we walked in and were happy surprised that you made the house cosy with some vegetables from your one garden and nice narcis flowers on the table.
You were a excellent host! You speak perfect English and we could always nock at your door when we wanted some advice. We are thankful for the great ideas you gave us to visit in the area, like Rome and Sorano, but also the cave houses, buddhist place and the thermal source.
Toscan Italy is in this period of time also very interesting and beautiful!
We love the products you're growing. Keep up the good work!
After this two weeks at Podere Argo we were more relaxed and calm than been in a very long time.
Thank you so much!
Lots of love from Jasper, Rianca and
Lovely cosy apartment. Clean, warm and homely. Beatrice was a wonderful host, very friendly and nice to chat to. She showed us how she makes her honey and lavender products which was interesting. We paid a small fee and had an organic breakfast made each morning which was delicious. There is an option to have a massage at the farm by a local therapist that was very enjoyable. Beatrice has a very friendly dog and cat that we wanted to take home with us. We loved our time here. The local area is beautiful and the towns of Pitigliano & Sorano are close by as well as Saturnia hot springs.
