Great location

Cozy vintage cabin on beautiful Lake Santeetlah. Enjoy the water views from the screened in porch, dip your feet in the clear lake on the private dock, or take a kayak out to explore the coastline. In cooler weather, snuggle up by the fire with a good book. Lake Santeetlah is nestled in the mountains of NC, and 80% of the coastline is national forest. The lake is quiet, serene, and absolutely beautiful. Check out our cabin on instagram: @thecovecabin.

The space
Our little midcentury cabin is not fancy, but it is cozy and comfortable, with simple modern decor. You'll have 80 feet of private shoreline and a small dock to enjoy the lake. We provide a paddleboard, 3 kayaks (1 double, 2 singles), and a canoe--or feel free to bring your own.

Where you’ll be

Lake Santeetlah, North Carolina, United States

Thunderbird Mountain (the "Town of Lake Santeetlah") is a quiet lakeside community. There are lots of tiny cabins from the 1960s like ours, along with much grander newer homes. Most of the houses are nestled among tall mature hardwood trees and rhododendrons. Our home is on a one-way loop that is roughly two miles long and is a great walking/jogging route.

I grew up near Asheville, moved away for many years, and finally came back in 2015. My husband Tim and I love to travel, though we do less of it now that we have two young kids. We love to host travelers in our little home in Asheville and help them explore this fun, vibrant city. In 2019 we bought a tiny cabin on beautiful Lake Santeetlah and started hosting there as well.
