The Cottage is immaculate, comfortable and bright. You'll feel immediately at home when you walk in the door. Dayna anticipates every need and is always accessible from booking all the way through check-out. A great getaway for a night or a week.
The Kuza Garden Cottage was almost what I expected. It certainly was an adorable Cottage. The location and amenities were great! We met Dayna the first night and she shared with us neighboring breakfast hotspots, how to access convenient parking in back, and to start up the hot tub... very helpful! Following are my only two complaints.
After making three requests for more information (over the course of about two months) for the dinner package mentioned in the BNB description, I never received information about it.
I also did not receive notice of any specific check-out time until I received a call from the host informing us check-out passed at noon and asking when we would be back for our things. I was slightly embarrassed to have not gotten out of there on time because I would have been gone, had I known what was expected. The host was kind and gave no rush! I just could have left her more satisfied with us as customers if I knew when we were supposed to be gone.
Overall, I would go back!
Charming cabin. Perfect ambiance. Bright, light, open layout.
Great location - 3 blocks from alberta. darling neighborhood. Lovely restaurants. Yakuza has wonderful sushi. Yoga co-op across the street great for drop in yoga classes. Red Fox Vintage - adorable vintage shop.
Cabin - cozy and comfortable. Amazing shower.
Perfect for solo adventure or romantic getaway for a couple.
Dayna was great, responsive and friendly!
This apartment is perfect in every way.
This place was so hip and cool and cozy! The inside inspires you to one day remodel a ship!! Everything was clean and tasteful and the hot tub was lined with rocks and it felt like you were on an island! There are really yummy things to eat very close by and some great house watching as you walk!!
A charming cottage in a darling neighborhood -- coffee shops, restaurants and yoga studios abound!
I especially enjoyed the shower ... and fragrant shower products!
When I stayed there, it was in the middle of a crazy blizzard -- but even so, the place was cozy and warm.
Two thumbs up. :)
My girlfriend and I spent a snowy weekend in Dayna's cottage, and it was an oasis: cozy, relaxing, centrally located, and complete with cable tv and internet (for the Olympics, obviously). The cottage is in the heart of the Alberta Arts District, walkable to a number of excellent food and drink options. We took full advantage!
This little space was cozy and adorable, and put together with great attention to detail. The construction and decor were modern and unique and I enjoyed marveling at the details. Very thoughtfully put together.
The location was fantastic. A block form Albert street, but some great restaurants and coffee nearby, on the same block as well.
We stayed only one night, so this was perfect. Had we stayed a few days, the place would have seemed a bit cramped. Walking through the courtyard of the restaurant is not really a big deal, but we did not use the hot tub since it did not feel very private.
Overall this place is really cute and fun to stay in. I would give it a full five stars if the accomodations and hot tub were a bit more private from the restaurant.
Dayna herself was great. Responsive and friendly, five stars for her!
The Kuza Garden Cottage is wonderful. My girlfriend and I stayed in Portland for one night and this made it a great experience. The owner built, on the same property, her restaurant, home and this awesome cottage in the backyard.
The hot tub was great, I can see why some people think it's awkward with the restaurant in view, but we were there during the winter so nobody was eating outside. My only warning is that it's not 100% secluded or quiet in the area.
I recommend, if you stay, to eat at her restaurant. Fantastic food and cocktails! She also owns a restaurant down the street called DOC that has wonderful deserts. Keep in mind that you should get reservations if you want to dine at DOC.
I highly recommend this place. 5 stars! We will definitely come back.
This place is gorgeous! I don't understand how it isn't booked every night of the year. It shares a patio with the neighboring Japanese restaurant which is super convenient however it can be a little odd to be in the hot tub when the restaurant is open for service. Other than that the Cottage is an absolute gem with very nice design and the smell of jasmine all around it.
