The Cottage and secret garden are beautifully designed and make clever use of small spaces to create plenty of little nooks in which to relax. The bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub which was especially nice given that it was an unseasonably cool weekend for April. The host provided all the information we needed to make ourselves at home. A terrific neighborhood with lots of restaurants, galleries, boutiques, bars, and live music venues to explore on foot.
The Garden Cottage was immaculately clean, serene in the simplicity of its woodcrafted detailing and its Japanese garden setting. Excellent coffee roasting house and cafe as well as several choice restaurants within steps of the street entry door. Unique accommodations in Portland.
Dayna was great in answering all of my questions and being attentive while we were staying in the cottage. We were able to order room service from Yakuza and food was brought promptly, and was great!
The interior of the space was very welcoming and had everything a couple would need for a weekend getaway. The bathroom and bedroom were both amazing. Would definitely recommend this to another couple coming to visit Portland or looking for a weekend getaway!
What a great rental! Dayna was super responsive, and the listing was just as described. The cottage is in a perfect location, just 2 blocks south of Alberta street. The best was having Valentine's Day dinner at Yakuza Lounge, and then walking 20 feet back to our place afterwards! All around a great stay.
What a delightful cottage! Dayna made everything very smooth and simple for check in, which I appreciated. The cottage is cozy and private, very clean and comfortable. The star of the show however is the rock hot tub, which was just divine on a cold February night.
What a great vacation property! It was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. The neighborhood is a great place to spend all weekend - we never left the area and spent our time trying a bunch of different coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Dayna was always available via cell when we needed anything but everything with the rental went smoothly. We'll definitely be back!
And you have to take advantage of the sushi take out/room service. The food was amazing and it was a lot of fun getting it to go and eating in the cabin.
The Garden Cottage was exactly as pictured. A cozy warm house with minimalist decorations, makes for a relaxing experience. The cottage is right behind the restaurant Yakuza, which is a great spot for Sushi and Sashimi. Dayna was great about responding right away via text messages, as the only issue I encountered was struggling to open the gate. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to visit Portland, and truly live like a local.
