We enjoyed our weekend at this beautiful Montana cabin, close enough to Yellowstone to make day trips, yet remote enough to feel like we got away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Neil met us at the door to ensure we had all that we needed. Thumbs up!!!
This cabin was magical. Incredibly comfortable. Warm. Very clean. Everything has been thought of to ensure a pleasant stay. The surroundings are breathtaking. Snow peaked mountains and deer just outside your window in the morning. A perfect getaway from all things technology! Loved it. Only regret is we wish we had a few more nights. Take a pack of cards for the evening!
My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing time staying at Neil and Linda’s Montana cabin. We had looked forward to this trip for many months - for some R&R and a welcomed break from “big city” life - and could not have asked for a better stay.
The cabin is situated in the scenic hills of Emigrant, MT (roughly between Livingston and Gardiner) with wonderful views of the surrounding valley and mountains. We found it to be very quiet and relaxing, but also easy to travel to surrounding towns/areas for some exploring, dinner, shopping, etc. Yellowstone (and Gardiner) is a must, but we also had fantastic times exploring Bozeman, Gallatin National Forest, Livingston, Chico Hot Springs, and Red Lodge (a longer, but beautiful drive on the Beartooth Highway).
The cabin itself was great, with more than enough space for the two of us. We enjoyed many hours relaxing on the front porch soaking in the views (loved the porch swing!), sitting by the fireplace, or grilling in the back. Upon arrival, we immediately felt at home, and very much regretted having to leave at the end of the week.
Neil and Linda were fantastic hosts. The cabin was very clean, well stocked, with all the information (and more) needed to make the most of our stay. They were very attentive to our needs and provided great recommendations on what to check out in the area - and even took the time to introduce us to their horses!
Again, could not have asked for more - a fantastic stay, and highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay at Neil's Montana Retreat. The views of the mountains along with the quiet surroundings were exactly what we hoped for. Neil went out of his way to make suggestions and help us plan this journey prior to our arrival. He and his wife have a beautiful retreat cabin and gorgeous horses and kitties. We only regret not being able to stay longer but hope to return!
This was a wonderful retreat. The location is stunning with mountains surrounding, horses playing across the way, and a good few miles between you and everything else.
The cabin is large and well appointed with everything you need for light cooking and a relaxing sit outside in the sun (weather permitting). It is charming and just has a superb, quality feel to it.
The Mammoth section of the park is just about 30 minutes down the road near Gardiner, where my wife and I had breakfast frequently. Up north a couple of miles you can find Wild Flour Bakery for breakfast and lunch, which was all handmade and delicious.
Neil and Linda are gracious, respectful, and interesting hosts! We enjoyed meeting them and learning about their horses and their land. They are both very open and love meeting Airbnb'ers, so we spent a good couple of hours meeting them and enjoying conversation.
My wife and I highly recommend staying with them!
We knew this was going to be a great experience from the moment we arrived and found beautiful deer nibbling on grass by the front porch. The pictures of the cabin and surrounding environment are but a tiny hint at what a wonderful place this is.
The cabin is well appointed with all one could need. Everything is extremely clean and organized. We arrived during a cold spell and the propane stove and space heater kept us warm and comfortable. There's a loft with a sunlight which is a great nook for a 3rd person or relaxing and reading. This is truly a log cabin and you can see the extreme care taken by Neil and those who built it with him.
The cabin has a front and back porch that lead to grass immediately surrounding it, a nice barbecue and lovely floral landscaping (pic in the profile must be an earlier one, as there are more landscaped elements now.) The pièce de résistance though is the view of Paradise Valley from the front porch. It is just breathtaking. Also, make a point to go up the road to the plateau for more spectacular views.
Last but certainly not least, Neil was a great host. He and his wife Linda provided a detailed list in the cabin of information. In addition, Linda personally picked fresh flowers and put them in the cabin for our stay. Neil answered all our questions regarding the surrounding area and grocery stores, restaurants, etc.
Overall, this was an excellent place to stay for both the comfort within the cabin and for its's proximity it has to area towns, Chico Hot Springs and Yellowstone National Park.
My parents and I spent three fantastic nights here and our host is so friendly... This cabin has everything you need and more. I really wish I had a place like this of my own. Make sure you have some time walking or driving around the area - splendid view!!
