Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The cabin is a destination all on its own. Fish from the pier or banks on the privately managed eight-acre lake. There is a john boat which is quite old, uses paddles, and is in fair shape (feel free to bring your canoe or john boat.).
A paddleboat and paddleboard are available for guest use and swimming. Enjoy walking the property and visit the onsite hoop house and orchard for free seasonal fruits and vegetables. Have fun by the outside fire pit roasting marshmallows with friends and family!

The space
Built in 2005, the cabin doors open to an expansive main area with high vaulted ceilings. Each area is defined by the furniture with a dining table that seats 8 and the kitchen boasts a butcher block island fit for any family gathering - The living area stretches across the cabin with two sitting areas that are all-inclusive - and can easily view the ROKU 50" TV in comfort (Dish channels included) - the sleeping area is located in the back corner of the cabin with two generous bunk beds tucked away with nice privacy curtains and one twin behind the main sitting area - comfort extra long twin mattresses and bedding make for a really great night's sleep - the two couches on the main level have two recliners each and are great for napping- The loft (accessible by a built-in ladder) is cozy with a queen bed and the bathroom offers a refreshing shower and is where the washer and dryer are located. The fully stocked kitchen includes most spices needed for cooking and the appliances include a fridge/freezer with an icemaker, full-size oven, large air fryer, dishwasher, microwave, and your choice of a Keurig or regular coffee machine. There is a screened-in porch with a cozy sitting area, in addition to a live edge bar which seats two and looks out over the lake. Just off of the screened-in porch is an outside deck area overlooking the lake. The john-boat and paddle boat are popular attractions, along with fishing and hiking. Bring your own poles and bate. Children must be supervised and life jackets are furnished and must be worn at all times. We recommend opting to sit around the fire pit and roasting marshmallows, watching the sunset, and moon rise, and telling stories to friends and family. Note: Firewood is included for one fire per night - more wood can be purchased onsite. The land has been in the host family for generations and they live on the farm near the cabin, close enough to help with anything if needed and far enough to provide for a nice private exclusive getaway. The hosts are located on the property and available 24/7. There is a 55 inch Roku TV. Internet is available. Verizon seems to be the best carrier for making cell calls but it can be sketchy at times. The good news the cabin is full of outdoor fun and relaxing areas to unwind and connect with family. If fresh air, outdoors, and slowing down to take in nature is at the top of your list - then come on - we can't wait for you to enjoy the cabin!

Guest access
The rental includes the entire cabin which has a covered front patio area with a swing and gas grill, and just off of the front patio area is a beautiful garden and sitting area with an outside table and chairs, and a fire pit. The 1/4 mile dirt/gravel road to the cabin is full of nature's abundance and wildlife and curves around past an old dog trot cabin that was built in the late 18th century then straightens out before sharply turning left and winding down into the cabin's private driveway with a large parking area located directly in front of the cabin. Also includes lake access, and has a johnboat, and a paddle boat for guests to use. Life jackets are provided. Only one person can walk on the pier to the end at a time, especially during the dry season when the lake is down and the pier has a noticeable swag while walking on it. Pets may enjoy the lake and swim along with guests. Pets must be accompanied by guests at all times. We recommend leashes during the summer months if walking on paths with lots of foliage during snake season. The Cabin Lake Farm is an animal-friendly farm and there are six farm dogs that may come to the cabin to say hello during your stay, however, they will not stay long and will return to the main house once they have done so. With the exception of Rose, our six-year-old chocolate lab who is convinced all guests would like to adopt her while they are at the cabin. All you have to do is shut the cabin door and she will return home to the main house but if you allow her inside, she may end up sleeping over with you! If you have a pet or pets that require our dogs to stay away from the cabin at all times, just let us know and we will make sure they do not visit you at the cabin.

Other things to note
The kitchen is fully equipped (plates, forks, knives, spoons, pots, pans, bowls, slow cooker, air fryer, please let us know if you have special requests), kitchen towels - coffee, sugar, creamer, tea, paper towels, dish soap, and dishwasher pods, Bathroom includes a shower, sink, toilet, hair dryer, with towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and conditioner for the number of guest registered, (washing machine and dryer) - clothes detergent and dryer sheets for the cabin towels and linens provided however personal washing and dryer soap not provided. First Aid Kit on-site but please bring your own ibuprofen/allergy medicine or over-the-counter needs. We highly recommend bringing your own medicine. We provide firewood for one fire a night but not an all-night fire so please bring your own firewood if you are planning on long evenings by the fire. Please let us know if you plan on using the johnboat, paddle boat, or paddle board as we need to make arrangements to ensure they are clean and ready to go.

Hi, I am Susanna Barnes and my husband is Johnny. I work for Marion Military Institute and my husband is a grower of heirloom vegetables. The cabin, as well as our home, is located on our farm's eight-acre private lake. Our farm is located in North Perry County, once known as Morgan Springs - and has been in my husband's family for four generations. The location is a nature lovers oasis. Piney woods and wildlife cover are abundant - butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and much more make our farm their home. The cabin is our pride and joy and exemplifies our love of nature, wildlife, and land. We hope our guest who stays at the cabin leave understanding and feeling the same way. Welcome to country!...some call it the sticks but we call it paradise.
