Step next-door and tour the nation's oldest art, women's history and veterans' museum. Whether staying for business, a relaxing getaway or a destination stop, this guest house will give you the best of both worlds. Located on 6 Acres, surrounded on 3 side by certified forest, there is lots of room to enjoy the environment or run your dogs in the fenced fields.

The space
Pope's Museum is the oldest art environment in the United States, created by a trailblazer woman Laura Pope Forester. The guest house listed here is next store. This rocking chair WPA house was once the night watchman house at the Roddenberry Syrup plant. Moved here decades ago, it is now part of the Pope's Museum property which has been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places
in the categories of Art and women's history.

Cairo Georgia is a very rural community. At both Popes Museum and the guest house we are encircled by 800 acres of forests and cotton fields. Additionally we are 25 minutes from Thomasville, 20 minutes from Cairo and an hour away from Tallahassee Florida

Who buys an abandoned 1850s former folk art museum and turns it into a bnb, an event venue, and reopens the folk art museum! Dan and I thought "Why Not?" and it is a season of adventure that is for sure. Who knows? Maybe a documentary on it will be next!
