Stjepo was an amazing host! He picked us up from the bus station when we arrived and then dropped us off at the ferry terminal on the evening we departed Dubrovnik, allowing us to leave our bags at the apartment during our last day in the city. When we arrived he gave us some very useful information about what to do while in Dubrovnik and provided a few books on places to eat and things to see. Also, on the second day when the Wifi stopped working he immediately reset the router and got it working again. The apartment was great, nice and cool and quiet. There wasn't much of a view from the apartment itself but you could just see the edge of the Old Town from the porch outside. The apartment is quite a walk up from the Old Town, which isn't a problem when heading down but meant we tried to limit trips back to the apartment during the day. I would definitely recommend being hosted by Stjepo in Dubrovnik.
Place was in a good location. For the money it is a great deal. I would definitely hesitate if you have any disabilities. The stairs are abundant but do-able. The host was great and the garden was amazing. If your used to 4- star hotels I would skip this place but in dubrovnik it will be triple or quadruple the money
Strepjo was a great host it was good value for money and a serious walk straight up from the old city the beds were comfortable but very squeaky as is the case in Croatia there is often a lot of furniture in a small space OK if you unpack your bag but less useful on a short stay Strepjo drove us to the airport for far less than a taxi would recommend to fellow travellers :)
While Stjepo was very nice to deal with and even picked me up at 5:15 am to take me back to the airport for the normal fee, we felt his apartment was in a very difficult location and not very nice. The only way to get to this apartment is by dragging your luggage down 40 steep concrete steps and back up again for departure. The apartment has a very poor shower, was not cleaned upon our arrival and the linens and bedding were poor. He is new to this I believe but he has a ways to go to make this a more typical apartment.
Difficult to find as the street is actually steps (as many are), but Stjepo met us and showed us the way. Good exercise up and down to the old town! 20 minutes up - less down.
There is a garden on the terrace which makes for a lovely green space. Stjepo's mother provided us with figs and grapes from the garden (and ice cream too)
A bit old fashioned but spacious and comfortable though basic cooking facilities
Stjepo was a very helpful host
Stjepo and his mum were great hosts, picked us up from the bus, told us where local things were and nothing was a trouble. His mum was amazingly friendly even though we didn't share language. Apartment was basic, roomy, hgh up on the hill. The grapes in the garden were ripe and tasty.
The appartment was ok but there wasn't hot water. It's well located!
Stjepo is kind and it was no problem to keep our lugage till evening. He offers a pick up service from and to the airport for a good price.
Thank You Maria, about hot water for all those guests who did not use it before, in Europe especial in Croatia, for bathroom, usually near switch for light are switches for hot water and hot air. If it is sometimes turn it off, it is necessary just to turn it on and it will warm water by automatic all the time, pretty fast. Thank You Maria for staying with us, enjoy!
excellent accueil, grande gentillesse. chambres et emplacement conformes à la description. Bravo
This apartment was clean and very nice. Stjepo was very kind and helpful. The apartment was a bit difficult to find, but Stjepo sent us detailed directions and even offered to meet us and show us the way. Anytime we needed anything, Stjepo came by right away. The apartment is more like a 10 minute walk to the Old Town, but not at all far. Only one bedroom has A/C which we didn't realize, and it was quite hot during our stay. But there's a nice view of the Adriatic, and for the price and location, it's a great place to stay. We would definitely recommend to other travelers!
We had a lovely time staying in Stjepo's apartment. We came from the bus terminal, which is a little way out of Dubrovnik, so Stjepo came to pick us up which was extremely helpful as we had heavy luggage. The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay, Stjepo even had left us a carton of juice in the fridge!
I'd definitely recommend staying here as it's great value for money and Stjepo was very friendly and accomodating. The only thing to be aware of was the number of steps it took to get to and from the old town - not for the faint hearted on a hot summer's day! However, this is the same with a lot of the apartments above the old town. It takes no time to get down the steps but you won't want to pop back mid day without jumping in a bus or taxi!
