Thanks for the review and I hope you enjoyed your South Island Tour. I also hope your not finding it too difficult to be back at the daily grind of work!

  • My partner and I had such I wonderful time with Roy and his family, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to visit Kerikeri or have a relaxing base as you explore the Bay of Island. By car the house is 25 minutes away from Paihia, which works as a great gateway to the rest of the bay, and 5-10 minutes from the Rainbow Falls if you want to do some forest walks.

The house is fabulous. From the King Double-bed room there is a great view of rolling countryside and waiting for us on our pillows as we entered the room were some gorgeous chocolates from the nearby chocolaterie.

Roy, his wife, Paik, and his daughter, Jade, are fabulous company and great hosts who have a great deal of knowledge of the area. On their suggestion we went to the Rainbow Falls and then drove to Monganui and my girlfriend had the best fish and chips she could remember ever having.

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night in Kerikeri but it has definitely been one of the best places we've stayed at so far.

Hi Peter, many thanks for your kind words. (we look forward to multiple reservations on viewing the comments above!) We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and NZ holiday. Have a great 2014. You two are a well matched couple and we enjoyed meeting you.

  • My girlfriend and I recently stayed with Roy and his incredibly friendly and hospitable family. Roy's wife and daughter also went out of their way to provide what I felt was as near to a 5-star experience as you can receive at a B&B. The property is located on a pristine piece of property with a gorgeous country view. The house is spectacular along with the landscaping with an outdoor space complete with an infinity pool where you can gaze out at the hills and forrest and gorgeous evening sunsets. The house's design blends with it's environment flawlessly. Another great feature is their home theater system which is great for a quiet evening after a day out out in the islands. Breakfasts were to die for, the bedrooms were immaculately clean and luxurioiusly appointed, and the bathrooms designed at a very high-end level (think Ritz Carlton/Four Seasons). We couldn't have asked for more. I hope to have another opportunity in the future to pass through this part of the country, and If I do, I know where I will be wanting to stay.

So glad you chose us for your visit to Northland and we would happily host you again at a blink of the eye. All the best for 2014

  • Roy and Paik are the most welcoming hosts. They make you feel you are almost part of their family. I enjoyed adding fresh herbs from the garden to my salads and the kids loved the wonderful breakfast.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay !

Hi Julia thanks for your kind review, the feeling is mutual as we enjoyed your company. The children certainly brought back memories of family life. We both are very pleased you chose to stay with us. Regards Roy & Paik

  • Roy and Paik are wonderful hosts who make you feel most welcome. Their beautiful modern home is in a spectacular setting. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom a veritable treat, and the breakfast had everything you could want in the morning. The hosts had lots of information about the local area and suggestions for sightseeing along our chosen route. We would definitely think about staying with them again.

About
I am the male half of a couple who have recently moved to Kerikeri. I used to work in the petrochemical industry as a mechanical designer but have now retired. Paik my wife who is a Chartered Accountant works from home as a sole practitioner. We have travelled extensively and continue to take occasional vacations overseas. After a couple of cruises we are hooked on that form of holiday. We have two grown up daughters who no longer live at home. We offer B&B in our modern new home which has spectacular rural views. So far we have really enjoyed hosting our mostly overseas visitors and everyone to date has been very satisfied with the facilities we provide. We have recently decided to join Airbnb to both canvas for clients and also help us find suitable home stays on our travels with other members. We live in a beautiful area of Northland close to many wonderful beaches and heaps of water activities. We are located approximately 2 kilometres outside of the Kerikeri village high up with extensive rural views. A stream runs along the valley below. We are part of a housing development that is stalled at 25% complete. All section are 3/4 acre and reasonable private to each other. The house has floor to ceiling double glazed windows that slide open to give extensive indoor/outdoor feel to all the open plan living areas. We also have a home theatre projector system plus seating to watch movies. The patio is covered by electrically operated louvers and there is a lap pool for those wanting to take a dip. The house enjoys good access with a turning circle and four car parking. There is a covered canopy at the double door entrance. We offer two rooms both on the ground floor with their own Italian tiled en-suite facilities. One room has a king sized double bed the other two king sized single beds. The rest of the open planned house is shared with us. We provide cooked or continental breakfast. We have lived in New Zealand for 33 years and although only being in Kerikeri for close to four years have a very good knowledge of local attractions to assist visitors with their plans, if they request help. We also are happy to include an airport pick-up and drop off if needed. Paik is a keen gardener and I am a keen sportsman, we both enjoy the card game of bridge and play at the local club. We enjoy meeting new people and our guests always make favourable comment on how easy going we are in trying to make them enjoy their stay with us. The social interaction with travellers is a big reason for us to be involved in the B & B homestay business. We look forward to making many new friends via this site.
