We thoroughly enjoyed their company as they were extremely well travelled and fascinating to talk to.

Their home is stunning with incredible panoramic rural views and one of the comfiest beds we've come across! Breakfast was delicious.

  • From the moment we arrived at Up Market Northland B&B, Roy and his lovely wife, Paik, welcomed us with genuine warmth and incredible hospitality. The accommodation is outstanding in terms of location, cleanliness, and proximity to town. Roy and Paik provided a wealth of information about the area and offered so many extra amenities. This listing is the best!

  • My wife and I had a relaxing stay at Roy and Paik's home. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. Roy has so many interesting stories to share and Paik was like a mum even making a honey and lemon drink for my wife when she got a sore throat. They also had plenty of great recommendations on where to go and what to see during our stay.

Their home is beautiful, spacious and peaceful. Everything was very clean and comfortable, we felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel with amazing views to wake up to in the morning and a delicious breakfast that included local produce and even home-made jam. On our second night we sat outside as the sun set with a glass of wine and enjoyed the views across the hills and enjoyed a chat with Roy and Paik.

Kerikeri is a beautiful town with great cafes, shops and local art to enjoy. It wasn't as 'touristy' as Russell and Paihia, definitely worth driving a little further out for your stay. There is just so much to see, we wish we had stayed longer.

We really loved our time with Roy and Paik, they were such great hosts and we hope to stay with them again.

We enjoyed your review almost as much as getting to meet you! So pleased you enjoyed your stay you would be most welcome to return anytime.

I am the male half of a couple who have recently moved to Kerikeri. I used to work in the petrochemical industry as a mechanical designer but have now retired. Paik my wife who is a Chartered Accountant works from home as a sole practitioner. We have travelled extensively and continue to take occasional vacations overseas. After a couple of cruises we are hooked on that form of holiday. We have two grown up daughters who no longer live at home. We offer B&B in our modern new home which has spectacular rural views. So far we have really enjoyed hosting our mostly overseas visitors and everyone to date has been very satisfied with the facilities we provide. We have recently decided to join Airbnb to both canvas for clients and also help us find suitable home stays on our travels with other members. We live in a beautiful area of Northland close to many wonderful beaches and heaps of water activities. We are located approximately 2 kilometres outside of the Kerikeri village high up with extensive rural views. A stream runs along the valley below. We are part of a housing development that is stalled at 25% complete. All section are 3/4 acre and reasonable private to each other. The house has floor to ceiling double glazed windows that slide open to give extensive indoor/outdoor feel to all the open plan living areas. We also have a home theatre projector system plus seating to watch movies. The patio is covered by electrically operated louvers and there is a lap pool for those wanting to take a dip. The house enjoys good access with a turning circle and four car parking. There is a covered canopy at the double door entrance. We offer two rooms both on the ground floor with their own Italian tiled en-suite facilities. One room has a king sized double bed the other two king sized single beds. The rest of the open planned house is shared with us. We provide cooked or continental breakfast. We have lived in New Zealand for 33 years and although only being in Kerikeri for close to four years have a very good knowledge of local attractions to assist visitors with their plans, if they request help. We also are happy to include an airport pick-up and drop off if needed. Paik is a keen gardener and I am a keen sportsman, we both enjoy the card game of bridge and play at the local club. We enjoy meeting new people and our guests always make favourable comment on how easy going we are in trying to make them enjoy their stay with us. The social interaction with travellers is a big reason for us to be involved in the B & B homestay business. We look forward to making many new friends via this site.
