Enjoy a giant one of a kind master suite with magnificent jungle view. Hang out at the private 50 foot pure stone swimming pool or take the short 9 minute walk over to the Yoga Barn for restaurants or Yoga.

The space

This is a master bedroom suite located in downtown Ubud Bali. Super-close walking distance to the dancing events and restaurants in Peliatan at night, a 50 foot pure stone pool to swim in during the day. Walking on marble floors inside or the shaded garden outside you are secluded yet close to the action and charm only Ubud has to offer. Amazing for a single person or couple. Perfect for a family get-together or group retreat. Make your visit for two weeks or a year. If extra rooms are needed the Villa has accommodations for a grand total of eight with two in each bed. The Villa is just about 7023 square feet total.

Many of our guests will do a quick nine minute walk over for classes at the Yoga Barn. Little reflexology shops do a great hour long foot massage nearby or have our professional Bali masseuse come by when ever you want for a great one hour Balinese full body massage in your room or poolside. All the choices are yours.

We have so many amazing stories of folks getting here and extending their stay due to how nice they feel it is. They just don't want to leave! Truly this is our best complement and lets us know we have done things right.

One of the great aspects here is that everything can be done with a reasonable budget in mind. This has allowed many guests to enjoy long four to six month stays. Many of our long-term health conscious guests found going out and finding super-healthy food and making it at home was the ticket. If you don't feel like cooking and don't want to go out there are a great choice of quality delivery options available.

The Villa is really all about choices and options! You just choose as you go. No need to worry about stuff now.

The best part is you have a clean, quiet and safe home to stay at while your on the Island. You can make your visit really any type of visit you want. Some make it an art purchasing trip, some make it a cloths purchasing vacation while others are getting into that special authentic dancing and music only found on the island of Bali. Some guests make a food tour of the Island!

If just spending peaceful quality time by yourself or with loved ones, you'll not find a better location.

Hanging out reading at the pool has also been popular. Really you decide to make your trip as adventurous or relaxing as you want, all without the busy traffic of staying in an expensive crowded hotel. Days and Nights are quiet and peaceful with only the sounds of the birds around. If it does get too quiet, live music is always being played at a small outdoor club in quaint downtown Ubud minutes away!

Transportation is available directly from the Villa any day for daily adventure scenic drives to any location on the Island. Up to five can enjoy the day together in a new fully air-conditioned tour-van at a super price of $50 usd a day! He is always right on time too!

With many thoughtful design elements there are truly no rooms in Ubud like these. We welcome you to make this Island home your home.

Our housekeeper is a wonderful cook making much of the local dishes for our guests. Seven days-a-week from 8am until 4pm we have great local culinary delights. From a simple Balinese Vegetable Omelet with Potatoes on the side for breakfast, to exotic spicy Sumatra food for lunch or dinner, the choices are truly fantastic. The Chicken Curry with Potatoes is some of the best I have had in competition with many of the finer restaurants in downtown Ubud. The list of exciting authentic dishes to try is staggering. The addition of local spices can be dialed in also, making the food perfect for any one palette. We are also really into obtaining much of the local fruit on a daily basis. There are unique ripe Green Oranges, Mini Pineapples and a choice at times of twenty different variations of local Bananas. Purple Mangosteen is a wonderful and super healthy fruit to try here on the Island. The local traditional market across the street typically has a wide selection of these wonderful fruit items for our housekeeper to buy for you every morning.

It does not get any better than this.

A healthy diet here at the Villa is both cost effective and fun. Local Red and White Dragon Fruit, Snake Fruit and Star Fruit are in season and obtainable a good portion of the year. We have also planted many exotic fruit trees on the property.

The dinning process is actually pretty simple for our guests. You make food choices for the day and the ingredients are purchased fresh for you that morning. You pay just the local prices for the food plus a small tip for the chief. The process results in a win-win situation providing exciting ways to experience the local traditional food in high quality with prices even better than even the local low-cost restaurants. Dinning in is super easy and cost effective as well as super healthy. Truly this is one of the greatest additions to the lifestyle at the Villa and providing an educational and unique dinning moment at home if you decide not to go out.

All and all we feel we are offering a very flexible and complete Bali experience, perfect for folks new to the Island or the seasoned return guest. We welcome you to enjoy some of the best Bali Island has to offer. Let us know what your needs are, and we will do our best to accommodate your stay.

Other things to note

We do have two very small and friendly dogs. You may see them on occasion.

Laundry is done by a wonderful sevice, as much and as often as needed.
Bed sheets and towels can be washed anytime with our housekeeper taking them to the laudry and instantly putting in replacements. Washing of small things can also be done by hand within the villa. Typically the guest laundry comes out to anywhere from $15-$25 extra per month with all needed laundry needed included in the extra expense.

As of November 2016 we have upgraded to fiber-optic internet offering non-stop 30MB a second Wi/Fi.

Fabulous, luxurious room within walking distance of Yoga Barn (which was lovely to use as a shortcut to get into town) and main streets. Beautiful room, beautiful gardens/view, very kind hosts. I stayed there for a month and found it the perfect place to explore Ubud from. Hosts are a wealth of knowledge about Ubud events/history/cautions, and Greg offered me a walking tour on the first day that really helped to orient me in town.

Certainly, Greg's tour was helpful and helped me to hit the ground runnning. His advice about renting a scooter was practical and candid about the sorts of accidents that sometimes occur. In terms of information, plenty of help with SIM card, food, clothing and tours. In contrast, his wife's advice was more along the lines of local events, cultural celebrations and what was going on everyday. I liked learning about Balinese culture and think I gained a pretty good insight into how families live and keep customs and traditions. I think anyone would be happy with the room, garden view, pool etc.

Greg and Sak Ming are very welcoming hosts and also live in the house. So whenever a question pops up, they are there helping out in a very speedy manner. The room was very big, as was the bathroom. I stayed for a whole month for my yoga teacher training (it is very close to the yogabarn located) and had a great experience overall staying at their place. I would say that the only downside is that it is in a quite residential area, with few restaurants around, so a scooter rental is recommended for ease of getting around town.

I had stayed here for 3 weeks and it was great. Greg and Sak Ming welcomed me with warm smiles. Greg took me around downtown and he explaind a lot of stories about ubud; temples, food, legong dance, etc. which was really thankful. And Sakming introduced me a professional massage therapist with a reasonable price and I was really satisfied with the massage compare to other massage shops in downtown. This villa is very close to Yoga Barn and the room is spacious and I loved seeing beautiful sunsets sitting on my bed. There are some sounds of roosters/dogs so I used ear plugs through the night and it was not a problem for me. And there are some ants and other insects crawling on the floor. I am a relatively insect-sensitive person so I often used a spray for anti- insect in my room. Overall, I enjoyed Staying here and highly appreciate Greg and Sak Ming's warm hospitality.

Hi Jayoung, As you know, your the perfect guest. Glad you enjoyed your stay. On an Island known to have a few bugs at times, we pride ourselves in having very few. A handful of guests have wondered why we did not post on the top of our listing the fact that we have very close to zero Mosquittos? We have the yard sprayed every 90 days and the neighbors do a great job of spraying for Mosquittos I only see one about once every two months here.

I had a blast staying here. I highly recommend this villa. Pros Good location, short walk or moto ride to just about anywhere in Ubud. I recommend renting a moto for your trip. The house is very clean and the housekeeper Dayou is amazing. Greg and Sak Ming are incredibly friendly. I really enjoyed having both of them around. They helped me in a number of situations where I had skin reactions, eye infections etc due to weird Bali encounters. Neighborhood seems nice. I never felt unsafe anywhere in Ubud. Greg took me around the local markets and helped me find a fake rolex, which was a fun adventure. They seem completely open to having guests come over. They have two small dogs. One of them is incredibly friendly. The other has to warm up with you and she barks and growls, but she is harmless. If you grab her, she won't bite and goes completely submissive. By the time I left, she would let me pet her. I love dogs, so this was a plus. Cons My shower had no hot water. Although to be fair, I never asked for this to be fixed. The water in Bali dries my skin out as is. The internet is hit or miss. My friend couldn't get internet at all. I could get internet most of the time, but often would have to trip to a local cafe. The internet on the whole island is pretty bad. Compared to the rest of Ubud, this is expensive. That being said, you pay for what you get and this is definitely nicer than any of the properties my other friends stayed at. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I will stay here the next time I'm in Ubud. Thanks Greg and Sak Ming!

Response from Gregory And Sak Ming:
We truly enjoyed having you over. I wish you have brought up the water issue. We talked so much, I'm surprised you did not talk about it. The hot water is fine it is just the working operation of the hot water on the shower faucet. We have a giant 30 gallon electric hot water heater which supplies hot water to everywhere in the house. On the top floor where you were at it's about a 30 second wait, when it's turned on correctly? Still, glad you enjoyed your trip, please visit again when on the Island. Let us know when you come back we can get you a special discount price, so good I can not mention it here. Best wishes, Greg and Sak Ming

I stayed for one month at Greg & Sak Ming's. They were welcoming, friendly and offered recommendations about activities/restaurants in the area and at the same time respected my privacy as well. The room was spacious and having my own bathroom was convenient. LOVED the pool, beautiful! And great sitting areas throughout the house. The house is not quite in the "center" of the busy sprawl of the city but that may be a positive thing (depending on what you're looking for). It is in a quieter residential area, but there are still plenty of restaurants/shops within a 10 min walking distance. Greg offers a walking tour of the area for you when you first arrive so you can get familiar. It is a convenient walk to the popular Yoga Barn (which was what I was primarily looking for). It's about a 15 min walk to the Monkey Forrest area. There are also plenty of taxis around in Ubud - very affordable - (or you can ask Daiyu for a lift on her scooter for a quick ride to other parts of town! More on her later!) Tip for sensitive sleepers, there are sounds of roosters and dogs throughout the night so you may want to use ear plugs. With the earplugs, it wasn't an issue for me. Reading other reviews just about Ubud in general, I prepared for this and brought my own earplugs. Sak Ming also thoughtfully provided a pair upon arrival. Daiyu, the housekeeper, is an amazing cook and will prepare meals for you if you ask her, take care of your laundry, and give scooter rides which was really beneficial! It is for an extra cost of course, but you can work that out with her and it ended up being very valuable. Even though there was a communication barrier (she doesn't speak much English and I speak no Balinese), things worked out well. She is very sweet and always greeted you with a smile. All in all, the place was a comfortable/pleasant stay and would recommend.
